We have heard the desperately sad news that MrsY has lost her precious baby son Benedict and have offered to make a blanket for her and her family. She is very touched by everyone's kindness, and would love to receive one. Here is the original thread

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

PM me and let me know how you can help, if you need matching up and I will be able to help you

For pictures from previous blankets, see here www.woollyhugs.com

As in the past, the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
  • or Rowan cashsoft DK

They are very similar and can be combined

  • 4mm knitting needles or hooks
  • Cast on 33 stitches
  • 6" squares

The colours for this project
Blues, warm purples, greens, silver and cream

So sad that another blanket is needed Sad Sending love to MrsY and her family.

I love this thread. I have no clue what you're talking about half the time, but I can't stop coming here to read it.

And KisMittz - those Bags of Love are absolutely stunning.

PurplePidjin · 19/05/2012 10:23

Nor do I with the knitting stuff, BIWI, but it's done in such a friendly way I don't mind!

I [heart] BIWI, I really do, and when I look at my comment about donkeys arriving with peanut and meece makers, and then talk of them fitting through letterboxes, it is possibly not surprising she gets a bit Confused from time to time Grin

Whenisitmysleepytime · 19/05/2012 21:03

Waaaaa! I've lost my mojo! Confused
I've spent all week trying to start my squares and it was all going wrong. I have frogged too many times.

I have gone for basic granny squares now. And repeating the plain is good mantra (can't actually remember). Hoping they will help show off the more eye catching ones. :)

BarbaraWoodlouse · 19/05/2012 21:13

Plain is good, Plain is essential...

Whenisitmysleepytime · 19/05/2012 21:16

That's what I was trying to remember! Grin

BarbaraWoodlouse · 19/05/2012 21:18

Stands me in good stead Grin

KnottyLocks · 19/05/2012 21:21

We heart a simple square Smile

Thing3 · 19/05/2012 22:39

I was half way through my first square when DD3 pulled the needle out of the knitting and it has now gone all wrong and I think I'm going to have to start again :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/05/2012 21:32

Droitwich - you are some super speedy meecemaker! I can't wait to see it in the wool Smile Thanks

Whenisitmysleepytime - we definitely heart a simple square, Knots is right. Stands me in good stead too Babs

Thing3 - did you manage to save the square?

Posted this bit on the other thread....Replying to PMs, well trying to, am not sure it is behaving this evening....

Osmiornica - did it go through I wonder? I don't think yours did Hmm You probably got it 10 times, or not at all! In case it didn't, I was saying thank you and both parcels you forwarded have arrived safely, many thanks for doing that for us Thanks

Pidj too - I think yours was one that didn't go through either, your woolly wool will hopefully arrive with you on Tuesday.
