Blanket for MrsY and her family. Donors, crocheters and knitters, can you help us?

We have heard the desperately sad news that MrsY has lost her precious baby son Benedict and have offered to make a blanket for her and her family. She is very touched by everyone's kindness, and would love to receive one. Here is the original thread

So once again we are calling on the Blanketeers for help - whether it be donating, knitting or crocheting. Will you join us?

PM me and let me know how you can help, if you need matching up and I will be able to help you

For pictures from previous blankets, see here www.woollyhugs.com

As in the past, the wool we are using is:

  • Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (NOT the baby cashmerino)
  • or Rowan cashsoft DK

They are very similar and can be combined

  • 4mm knitting needles or hooks
  • Cast on 33 stitches
  • 6" squares

The colours for this project
Blues, warm purples, greens, silver and cream

So sad that another blanket is needed Sad Sending love to MrsY and her family.

Cakey!

Crocheting two, possibly knitting one. Time will tell Grin
And I genuinely had to stand up when trying to purl. It wasn't good.
But good you have your jiffy bag, tis a start. Grin

I'm an idiot and can't figure out which number DB is "cream" - is it 02 or 43 on cucumber patch?

I neeeeeeeeed it to finish my squares so that I can add more photos!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/05/2012 05:42

Morning Brew

On my phone Lewis but I'll go and fire up the computer and have a look. I may need to have more caffeine first Smile

Hi all Smile

Pistey apologies for not getting back to people but MN wasn't back online before she left for work.

Lewis, the 43 isn't a cream as such. The cream I have is 013. I think the 02 may be white. I'll have a check in a minute for you.

KnottyLocks · 15/05/2012 09:27

Lewis, I'm back Grin

02 is white, 43 is beige. 013 is cream but not on Cuc's stock list. However, Fingers and Thumbs have it here

Or from the seller who donated some wool to us here on Ebay

KnottyLocks · 15/05/2012 09:45

Alternative ways of contacting us if MN keeps going offline and you need us

We're on Facebook and Twitter : MNWoollyHugs

We have an email address, which you may want to make a note of: admin @ woollyhugs dot com

lemonlymon · 15/05/2012 10:33

We've ordered wool from Fingers and Thumbs but have been contacted to say it's not actually in stock - so maybe try checking with them if they have it in stock first?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/05/2012 11:53

Marking my place.

My mum & dad arrived this morning for a visit so (inspired by all of you) I am thinking I just might get over my all-thumbsiness and get DMum to teach me (again!!) how to crochet.

Then I can actually contribute to the blankets and not just fire off wool through the post.

alibubbles · 15/05/2012 13:20

Lovely silvery blue wool arrived from a kind donor and some from my mother too! Thank you
