KnottyLocks · 10/03/2012 12:40

Okey doke, Fizzog Grin I haven't looked that closely, just had a quick furk through the packets so I could tell folks their squares had arrived. I'll be sorting them properly later.

Pancakeflipper · 10/03/2012 16:03

I have done 1. Doing the other this weekend.

My wool is yummy yum. Lovely to knit with. I love my donor.

DutchOma · 10/03/2012 16:45

Has anybody received wool from Fingers and Thumbs? I ordered on the 1st March, sent an e.mail on Tuesday or Wednesday, rang them today on their mobile number and left a message as they were not picking up. No money has been taken from my PayPal account, so I am just wondering if they were having problems.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/03/2012 16:52

Yes Oma, Knots and I did an experiment to see how we got on with them as we are looking for more suppliers to recommend. I sent wool to her, ordered on Thursday and it arrived at hers today.

I got an email to say it had been dispatched too.

Really sorry you are having problems.

TimeForCake · 10/03/2012 18:19

I'm here! Smile Panic not Pistey. I still haven't got any further Blush.
I am going to sit down tomorrow to do some though. Starting to feel twitchy with all these woolly parcels being sent left, right & centre!

Almost did some at 5am but thought better of it, I don't need any other factors to make me go wrong and not being fully alert would have been disasterous. As a complete aside, a very bizarre thing happened this morning - hence me being awake faaaaaar too early. Phone rang (heart pounds, panic takes over as fearing awful news from someone), however, the voice started saying hello, how are you etc At which point I ask who on earth it is, to which he says Micheal someone who plays football for Barnsley, ringing to ask if I wanted a drink tonight?! What the...? I have no idea what it was all about. He didn't sound drunk, quite pleasant really, but I assume it was a prank after a partying session. I was less than polite!
Anyhoo, enough of my tangent. You've probably nearly finished by now Pistey!
Must be Wine time.

Whenisitmysleepytime · 10/03/2012 18:57

Hi all!

Just a thought on the supplier issue... What about deramores? Things I've ordered from them have come quickly and they seem quite good at staying in touch.

I have a jiffy bag now (thanks to dh's birthday presents arriving today) so will parcel up to tonight. Promise! Blush

tribpot · 10/03/2012 19:02

I wonder if people who are having problems getting the Debbie Bliss want to try the Rowan Cashsoft? It may be more readily available, I don't know - I got mine no problem from McA Direct, who I use a lot. Hulucrafts, who I use as well, have it in stock too.

Not much help for people waiting on orders, though Confused

Pleiades45 · 10/03/2012 19:34

I've ordered from Modernknitting and had no issues with them. They stock Debbie Bliss but not Rowan.

GleamingHeels · 10/03/2012 20:25

If you've been worried about knitting the heart square but been a bit worried about the yo/double yo and ssk and all the rest, here's a simpler heart square. If you need a hand then come and join us on this support thread... also this chat thread is for anyone who needs a hand with their chosen blanket square pattern, not just people trying out the heart pattern - come one, come all!

LovesBeingWearingSkinnyJeans · 11/03/2012 06:35

Ok my 'square' isn't really looking very square and I don't think it's about tension help.

It seems to go like this:

  <span class="line-through">-</span><span class="line-through">-</span><span class="line-through">-</span>---
 <span class="line-through">-</span><span class="line-through">-</span><span class="line-through">-</span><span class="line-through">-</span>-

LovesBeingWearingSkinnyJeans · 11/03/2012 06:36

Damn spacing, it looks like tge right hand side on both sides

tribpot · 11/03/2012 06:41

I think it'll be fine once it's been put in place, SkinnyJeans. Does it have a pattern on?

KnottyLocks · 11/03/2012 07:39

Morning Smile

LovesBeing, if your casting on row is quite tight the rows after can look a bit wider. Could that be it?

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 11/03/2012 07:48

My lovely yarn arrived yesterday, thankyou doner! The first square is well underway.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/03/2012 08:06

Morning Brew

Grin Cakey, particularly like the part not being fully alert would have been disasterous Grin I'm never fully alert - my square is doomed!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/03/2012 08:35

Good news Smugfearnley. Really glad it has arrived Smile

LovesBeingWearingSkinnyJeans · 11/03/2012 08:45

No pattern just the first thing I have e we crocheted

funchum8am · 11/03/2012 10:49

First square done! Very boring, just a square all in one colour but it's relatively neat at least. Doing as many as I can with the ball of wool I received from my lovely donor and will send as soon as I can. Will be before 26th of course - and it's wonderful practice for my knitting. I'm getting faster! Thanks for letting me join in.

tribpot · 11/03/2012 10:51

funchum - not boring! The mantra is plain squares are good, plain squares are essential.

bluebump · 11/03/2012 11:53

Right i've finished my squares now. I hope they are ok, will pm you Piste and see where to post them too.
