Check these out my woolly friends Aren't they fabulous?!

GleamingHeels · 09/03/2012 14:24

That link to the Olympic people is brilliant Pistey! I'd vaguely heard of people doing random or guerilla kniiting things - but that one is excellent

PurplePidjin · 09/03/2012 14:25

There's a few yarnbombers on mumsnet, maybe it was them Grin

GleamingHeels · 09/03/2012 14:29

yarnbombers PurplePidjin is that what they're called? That's a great name

DonkeyTeapot · 09/03/2012 14:46

How about THESE bad boys then?

DonkeyTeapot · 09/03/2012 14:48

Although THIS is the picture I was actually looking for. Finding the other one was just a happy accident!

GleamingHeels · 09/03/2012 14:49

GleamingHeels · 09/03/2012 14:50

Phew... was just having a small panic in case you were showing us all your beautiful handiwork...

DonkeyTeapot · 09/03/2012 14:54

Ha ha, no, although DP's birthday is coming up...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/03/2012 14:56

Donkey - that's what Knotty made for Mr Knotty for his last birthday.S'true..

duchesse · 09/03/2012 15:13

Yarn bombing? I love it! Never heard of it before. Around here people do guerilla gardening.

duchesse · 09/03/2012 15:24

After a little research I've found this lady on Twitter who appears to know more about the Saltburn Yarnbomber.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/03/2012 16:23

How do I add in a new ball of wool? Do I just start knitting with it?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/03/2012 16:28

I do stripes, and when I first introduce a new colour, that's exactly what I do, just start knitting with the new wool.

You will have extra pesky ends to sew in, but that is easy.

PrettyPirate · 09/03/2012 16:32

Have finished all my squares, have put the photos up. They do look bit wonky but I'm quite proud of them. Only started crocheting about a month ago and absolutely loving it! Although not sure I ever progress from blankets Hmm

GlaikitFizzog · 09/03/2012 16:51

Thank you pistey!!

DutchOma · 09/03/2012 16:56

GleamingHeels · 09/03/2012 17:27

Pirate - they're beautiful and look very intricate

duchesse · 09/03/2012 17:30

Wow, pirate they are lovely! I wish I could crochet... Can't seem to get the hang of it.

Blatherskite · 09/03/2012 17:46

I bought myself a crochet hook and some wool to practice on today.

I am bloody awful at it though so hoping we hear back from Glitterknickers soon!!

Kayzr · 09/03/2012 17:52

Hello.

Sorry been AWOL. The boys aren't very well so I am behind with my knitting but hopefully I should be finished in time.

GleamingHeels · 09/03/2012 18:05

I'm tempted to buy a hook and pick a YouTube tutorial and see if I can make anything other than the mess I made when my Mum tried to teach me a hundred years ago does being able to knit help learning to crochet in any way?

alibubbles · 09/03/2012 18:05

I haven't received any wool yet, is anyone posting to me please?
