We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.

Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.

So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.

I will have to get back on the deadline...

But thank you in advance.

Working as normal this morning, back just after lunchtime, no one think I'm ignoring them if you PM and don't get a response for a bit!

As LadyWellian says, starry starriness all around!

I've managed to misplace my trusty 4mm hook.
Which means a trip to the knitting shop.
Which can be expensive.

not only that, it was/is in a bag with the pathetic two squares I have done for my own personal blanket Hmm Which I am clearly destined never to finish.

KnottyLocks · 13/10/2011 07:35

Leave the credit card behind, Soupy. Good luck with your mission. I'd struggle too. Your original hook and squares will turn up when you get home again.

greenzebra · 13/10/2011 08:17

soupDragon I buy my hooks from the pound shop in town. I hope your original one turns up soon.

I have my hook just waiting for my wool, ordered two days ago still waiting for dispatch email!

SoupDragon · 13/10/2011 09:22

The hook isn't expensive, it's all the other stuff I come out with :o

thankfully the hook (and tH beginning of a bunt) turned up under the drivers seat in the car.

Which one of you Wooly Hug organisers hid my blanket though and when can I have it back?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/10/2011 13:43

Soupdragon, it was Knotty. She's like that, especially when she's been on the gin...

My wool has arrived - thank you to my donor.

It's a lovely pale pink in Rowan Cashsoft. I shall start crocheting tonight.

Oooh - my first Mumsnet flowers :)

But Chipmonkey is the one who will feel the true warm of MN with a very lovely blanket that can be passed on through the generations.

Knitting a square is easy for me - I take my hat off to Knottylocks and pidj for the underaking the massive task of stitching them together says she who is currently avoiding stitching together the 3, yes THREE, beautiful cable knit cushion covers she has knitted because she hates finishing

I've completed one square and about 3/4 of my second square. It's lovely wool to work with.

Once again, thank you to my donor and a huge thank you to RatherBeOnThePiste for all her fantastic work

I think I'm going to learn to knit / crochet so I can DO a part of the next blanket ... any tips?

I can do knit stitch and purl stitch, but the tension is shocking...
