I've just heard the sad news about Magic8ballhasstheanswers leaving 6mo twins and a 4yo Sad

If anybody would like to show their condolences, post here and we'll organise it. I'll take on construction again unless someone else would like a turn?

IvySedai (who messaged me to let me know) is happy to co-ordinate so PM's from Donors and Crafters needing a match to her please.

Previous squares were 6", knitted or crocheted. Blues, pinks and purples were the most popular colours. Debbie Bliss Cashmerino or Rowan Cashsoft DK (links are just the first ones I found on google) It's also available in John Lewis.

Lastly, was there anything in particular that Magic liked and could be incorporated in the design?

I've just finished my second square and added a pic to my profile. I've got a bit of wool left but there's not enough to make another square, the bobbles on my second square have used a lot of wool.:)

I'll send the left over wool with my squares, maybe it can be used for joining?

DutchOma · 28/08/2011 17:33

Done another angel square. Curious what you think of it. One more chance.

calrabbit · 28/08/2011 17:52

I think the angel is lovely dutchoma and your letter squares are great too. I am knitting a third square now trying to do pattern with baby footprints but have had to unravel it twice due to incompetence, third time lucky.

gapants · 28/08/2011 18:24

the baby footprints one is lush...care to share the pattern?

calrabbit · 28/08/2011 18:31

I found it here, I have adjusted the pattern taking out a border to make it the right size (I think). I have yet to complete it !!

lydiathetattooedlady · 28/08/2011 19:21

oma and calrabbit purpleknitting meow7s, very beautiful squares! I had a go at crocheting yesterday and got far too cross!

I have reserved 2 donor balls for the border, do you think that would be enough pidj

Have put up my next 4 squares, one of them done with all donors and knitters in mind!

lia66 · 28/08/2011 20:31

Hi ladies just a quick message from ivy to say that she has in law difficulties at the mo so please be patient with her re pm's.

purplepidjin · 28/08/2011 20:58

Lydia I've already got a promised ball earmarked to send you! A 20' border takes about 3/4 of a ball crocheted - I don't know what it would be knitted?

I look forward to the post resuming next week GrinStar

That is the last of the angel squares gone on my profile. I've downloaded three of the squares in halfknit and will get on with those tomorrow. Hope you can see the picture on the square, it doesn't seem very clear when you take the picture with just artificial light, even if it does go with the flash.

purplepidjin · 28/08/2011 21:50

Dutch the angels are beautiful!

Meow, that'll square up nicely once it's got some neighbours Smile

Meow the square is great. And I love the colour - i chose well Wink. Enjoy the knitting.

SoupDragon · 29/08/2011 10:32

Three bears and a flowery one.

fairly plain white one.

Think I have enough white to do a bog standard granny square with a pink centre.

TimeForCake · 29/08/2011 11:28

High five Soup! Love them all. Well done :) [many stars for my woolly partner].

SoupDragon · 29/08/2011 11:49

[sings] What's going to work... Teeeeeam work!

purplepidjin · 29/08/2011 11:59

Please would you PM me for the address to send some (knitted) squares?

purplepidjin · 29/08/2011 12:35

Gentle, it's the same as before if you still have it. I'm hoping ivy's got her computer sorted so she can get at the spreadsheet and send everyone a pm [worries]

OP posts:
GentleOtter · 29/08/2011 12:48

Purple, I never kept the address.

Please don't worry, it will all sort out. Smile

SoupDragon · 29/08/2011 12:52

Right. I'm done. There wasn't enough wool left to put a row of DC round the outside of the last square so it is a bit small - I have deliberately not cut the yarn or darned the ends in on this in case you can either do something with it or unravel it for sewing up yarn.

purplepidjin · 29/08/2011 13:30

Gentle, I'll pm when home later Star

Soupie, sounds fab although I don't need extra, I'll just join if I need to Star

Thumbwitch · 29/08/2011 14:55

Awww soupy those bears are fabulous!

I am so proud, if that's not too strong a word, to have even a small involvement in this fabulous project. Especially as much of MN seems to be running mad at the moment, it's really nice that there is still a deep current of care and support for those who need it.

[stars] all round to everyone involved.

calrabbit · 29/08/2011 18:03

I finished my last square and have added a photo on my profile I will now get them posted off tomorrow with the little bit of spare wool left. I have taken a look at the pictures of all the other squares that people have posted and they are lovely. Stars all around for everyone involved.

purplepidjin · 29/08/2011 18:20

I hope everyone's put their vote in on knotty's thread to get a Star emoticon?

I'll check out the pics when I get home Star
