There is irony in me starting this second thread for you lovely Blanket Makers, as I'm the least crafty person, but I'm doing it to help Pidj Smile

No need to swap for anything :) I'm getting no use out of it, and, whilst I do want another bun, I really don't have much hope of training him/her with my dcs...
I think it's also a rabbit handbooky thing - tells you about feeding etc (and is way more geared towards house rabbits than to hutch rabbits, too, so deffo more use to you than me), but there's a fairly extensive training section iirc. Don't think there's anything about clickers, though, but I could be wrong. It's been a long, long time since I read it. Truf wasn't exactly, er, tractable...

purplepidjin · 02/07/2011 22:12

Trumpton, thank you! They're on the now completed charity blanket which I will edge asap!

Whydo, thank you very very much. Most of the stuff I've read assumes that Bun will be stuck in a 3'square box in a garden and only needs a cuddle when he's cleaned once a week Angry whereas Santana gets cuddles everytime someone walks past him, flollops on his lead with added fussing by random teenagers in the park (girls just melt! I should use him for outreach work) and an entire house to roam in during the day. Basically, a wild life with central heating and full board Grin

It's a rabbit's life, eh?

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 02/07/2011 22:20

That's why it's going to be a while before I get New Bun. I don't want him or her to be stuck in the hutch all week. But, as things stand, I don't have the time for anything else :(
Still. When the dcs are older, then we'll be off down the rabbit rescue Grin
Book is very much a house rabbit book. It's the Really Useful Bunny Guide, by Carolina James, if that rings any bells. There is a fair bit on basic rabbit care, which you won't need, obv, but it sort of goes a bit beyond normal bun care books too.

purplepidjin · 02/07/2011 22:44

I dunno, I reckon 3 months of bunny owning might leave a few things still to learn Wink

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 02/07/2011 22:46

:)
What is he, by the way? Other than, obviously, a rabbit...

purplepidjin · 02/07/2011 22:49

Erm, black with grey underneath with lop ears? Purebred Heinz afaik Grin

Pet shop Blush but a reputable independent one!

purplepidjin · 02/07/2011 22:52

Pic now on profile Grin

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 02/07/2011 22:52

Ach Truf was a pet shop bun too. I was rescuing her from the children. Honest. She was a pretty lionhead and they were taking the piss out of her :(
For some reason, I thought you had a Continental Giant, that's why I asked. Love Continental Giants. So cute :)

purplepidjin · 02/07/2011 22:54

Vet reckons he'll get to 4lb easy. Is that Giant or just big? He's currently 3lb or so at 5 months old. Once he's an adult at full weight, I'm going to see if PAT will register him. Mango (cat) was run over halfway through registration Sad

whydobirdssuddenlyappear · 02/07/2011 23:03

:( poor Mango
I don't think 4lb is giant, but I don't really know. Can't remember how much Truf weighed, but I think it was less than that. Mate's Giant is the size of a small dog though. I reckon dd could ride him.

purplepidjin · 02/07/2011 23:11

Heehee, I love the idea of a child riding a rabbit! There has to be a story for DNephew in there somewhere - he thinks Santana is his rabbit who just happens to live at our house. We're not going to be disabusing him of that notion quite yet, SIL has quite enough on her plate without animals in the house too Grin

Plus we get to be Cool Aunty Pidj and Uncle PidjDP with the cars and the animals Grin

DutchOma · 03/07/2011 08:38

I love the look on that man's face, but can only see a cat in two of your photos, Pidj

purplepidjin · 03/07/2011 08:43

Yep, ok Santana ain't one of them [eek]

He's the first photo on my profile, Dutch, orange background Smile

DutchOma · 03/07/2011 08:47

Sorry, yes I can see it now, has even got the name with it Blush. I thought she was a ball of wool.

purplepidjin · 03/07/2011 09:02

Crikey I thought my eyes were bad Wink

He is a bit woolly, although not angora unfortunately!

Piste! Have you sewed the eyes on Top Bird?

How did the paint balling go btw?

Great new pics, Pidj. I snorted when I saw cat poop.

KnottyLocks · 03/07/2011 19:30

Eggy has posted a thank you thread here. Bless her, she's a darlin.
