Trans identifying people gaslight their parents - a heartbreaking read.

This broke my heart to read. The impact a child who chooses to declare themselves the opposite sex has on their mother in particular is brutal. I cannot imagine a world where my children would demand that I change my own history to bow to their indoctrination.

DW agrees that I am an ancient cultural relic, but fortunately she appreciates such things. "They are heritage and to be treasured. They are not obsolete."

"Away with the old!" cried the revolutionaries. "They have no place in the forward march of history."

"You are right," said the Sun. "I have been hanging around here far too long. You must be very tired of me and my antiquated habits. Goodbye, Earth. And good luck."

Society has not agreed this, despite the attempt to impose "no debate". And the singular of "phenomena" is "phenomenon

The context was word usage. Part of words being accepted in the dictionary means they are in broad social usage first so the 'meaning' so to speak has been socially accepted. Social word usage isn't the same as agreeing with it.

Why then is my son claiming to be a woman when it's only his "gender" that he has changed?

Woman & Man don't just have sex associations but gendered one's hence it can be applied regarding sex & gender.

so why is everyone else expected to act as if it is?

Social conventions as in respecting other people's right to their own identity aren't a belief statement.

He remains my son, and I will not deny my son by pretending that he is something he cannot possibly be.

Sex is not gender.

and hope that he eventually remembers and values the relationships his new worldview denies, that of a son with his father and mother.
A "feminine" son if that's his choice. What isn't his choice is to be my daughter, as that is a logical impossibility. He doesn't get to force us to lie.

"Adopted' just like 'step' children hold no biological relationship with their parents & yet they are still their children. Its not just biological associations that determine relationships but sociological ones.

What a load of WANK.

Boring bloke with no life experience pontificates and splits hairs endlessly trying to prove something to himself.

In the meantime, women have to get on with the real world.

Woman & Man don't just have sex associations but gendered one's hence it can be applied regarding sex & gender.

So in your world, there are male women as well as female women, and female men as well as male men.

Don't you think it would be a lot simpler if we stuck to the original definitions of men as adult male humans and women as adult female humans?

We could then have feminine men (adult male humans) and masculine women (adult female humans), as well as masculine men and feminine women. And of course, most of us are somewhere in between these extremes, but for those who like to have a gender identity, they could still have one.

Changing the meaning of men and women to suit your ideology just causes confusion. There are still vast numbers of people who think a 'transman' is a man who wants to be a woman and a 'transwoman' is a woman who wants to be a man.

Don't you think it would be a lot simpler if we stuck to the original definitions of men as adult male humans and women as adult female humans?

Problem is phenomena categorisation depends on social associations & there can be no getting away from gendered associations to sex.

Your problem isn't with 'trans ideology' but rather the cognitive organisational framework of humans.

In any case, prefixes like trans/cis/natal solve that linguistic 'confusion' problem. The truth is more you don't want it solved all because of some perverse territorial ownership of words.

Biology fail.
Chromosomes are female sex traits they don't on their own determine gamete structure always if they did there wouldn't XY humans who could birth children & there are.

It's very rare and it's a biological malfunction and those people are generally not fertile. Fertility is vanishingly rare in those people. It's not an indication of what makes a woman.

In future men will be able to get a transplanted uterus and give birth. That will not make them a woman.

It no more means that people with a Y chromosome can be women than that people born with no legs or one leg means that humans aren't bipeds.

Biology 101:
'Biological female' isn't the same as a cis/natal/reproductive female. Biological female can refer to biological female traits like secondary sex characteristics. Maybe pay attention in class next time?
😂

More 'trans' science, it's been debunked already, give it a rest.

Woman were making damned good progress on that before men came along and claimed they knew what it felt like to be female and declared that some hormones, and sometimes some surgery, could turn them into one, and proceeded to demonstrate that by wearing make up, skirts and growing their hair.

Anyone want to take a guess how long until "cis/natal/reproductive female" doesn't mean female any more, either?

Lol, the booming woman's beauty, fashion & cosmetic industries beg to differ.

Your problem with sex stereotypes isn't with trans people but evolutionary mating pressures.

That the 'sex realist' movement is ironically so divorced from the reality of human survival is quite breathtaking.

Heggettypeg · Today 21:08

MyAmpleSheep · Today 15:15

Why does the gender part have to be a big deal when its not actually doing anything? Its not changing sex and it doesnt mean clothes and behaviour needs to be a set thing?

Again, straw-personing, because it's the "gender layer" congruence with your sex that determines whether you are happy "in yourself". Perhaps it's seen as easier to change the manifestation of your sex than to work on altering your gender, or perhaps your gender is presumed to be ineffable. I'm not sure.

I'm not buying into it, just trying to see if there's a theory of mind that is at least lexically consistent first.

This does seem to be the thinking.

But it begs the question: " if "woman" ( as a "gender") is neither the kind of body you have (which can be male or female), nor your presentation and behaviour ( which can be anything you like), then what is it ?

And that's the question that never gets a clear, consistent answer.

Of course it is to those that don't understand evolutionary mating strategies 101 is to attract a mate to start with as in gendered inclinations serve an evolutionary purpose.

But why do they deny this self evident fact is a more interesting question? 🤔

If what you are asking here is, are breast or genital augmentation considered a secondary sex characteristic? And the answer is yes. Does society associate certain secondary sex traits like breasts & genitals natural or not to women & men ? Yes.
How would an individual be considered generally who displayed feminine presentation? A cis woman or trans woman.

Social associations determine the gendered/sex category.

Evolution is going to have a field day with people who think that secondary sex characteristics and gender identification matter more than reproductive sex.

Doesn't matter how much slap Willoughby puts on, or how drunk the tit that he gets to fuck him is, he's never going to bear children. Sorry.

How does sterilising children help human survival?

It does & it doesn't. Its built into the human body to express gendered inclinations to attract a mate. That it doesn't always 'work out' reproductively is more of a function of nature not always being able to deliver in a minority of cases becaise of extenuating factors. Another example is sterile cis women & men who still have inclinations to mate.

The mating strategies have nothing to do with evolution if all the participants have been sterilised.

Do you mean feminine or female here?

Female means having a female body.

Feminine presentation would be frilly dresses and makeup.

I’ve managed to do plenty of mating without once being interested in handbags, make-up or shoes. Lucky me that I didn’t need props to be seen as a desirable woman. 😀

Um, trans people like sterile cis people account for a minuscule population. You really need to calm down the hysteria on such inconsequential numbers.

Perhaps if you devoted all this reproductive concern energy to third world countries you might have a meaningful impact. But we both know that its not really about sterilisation here other wise you would.

TRAs want to sterilise children. Why is that?
