Why, just why??? Why does something as pure as remembrance need to be politicised with trans and queer ideology? Or am I being unreasonable to be triggered?!

RBL Pride Poppy Badge

All profits from the Royal British Legion Pride Poppy Badge will go towards the Royal British Legion's work in supporting the Armed Forces community.

There does seem to be a well worn track; armed forces to stunning and brave transwoman. As the RBL's mission is to help current and former service men, women and their families perhaps there is a logic to it. I'd rather they'd concentrate on homelessness, imprisonment and domestic violence where former soldiers are over represented as variously sufferers or perpetrators.

A fool and his money are soon parted

if it gets people to donate who otherwise wouldn’t , that’s not a bad thing

No doubt the rainbow brigade will be up in arms about it’s very existence owing to historic/existing homophobia in the armed forces and it being apparently hypocritical

Indeed. It’s all marketing. Although Poppy Scotland appear to draw the line at a Celtic pin as far as I can see.

Why do you continually try to silence debate from women who disagree with your extreme views? It's quite odd.

I think it’s because the #nodebate tactics used by stonewall et al seemed really popular. I think it’s called learning by example 🤣🤣🤣

Is it just me or does it look like a penis?

Just you. Unless I've led a sheltered life 😄

Really? You can't run a search for the word 'women' and find the multiple ones. Sure. https://www.poppyshop.org.uk/search?q=women

Much easier to just spew homophobia and transphobia, eh?

'spew'

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2026 13:19

It looks like a puffin standing in front of a rainbow flag, to me.

'spew'

Not sure what's wrong with "spew".

Another poster on the first page described RBL as "spewing" and as far as I can see no-one picked them up.

Because the site itself is aimed at parents. Not GC parents. So people who go on the site for other reasons might happen upon this part of the site. They could have any type of view on matters related to sex and gender.

Would you stop posting if the majorty of people on this board didn't have GC views? Would you stop posting your own opinions?

I don't post anywhere else on mumsnet, myself and never have.

I found my way to this specific board for all of the reasons previously mentioned - for the support and for the company of others of like mind, and at a time when dissenting voices were suppressed everywhere else. There would be no point my posting here otherwise.

I don't really think many people stumble on this particular sub-forum. They seek it out.

What would you say is your particular purpose in posting here.....I've told you mine.

I see a pheasant rather than a puffin.

I dont know what RBL is.

There are some posters who make a habit of characterising women's speech as 'spew' 'froth' 'shriek' 'screech' etc.

Once you see it the pattern is noticeable.

Pheasant face, rainbow beak? I mean puffing beak. I mean PUFFIN beak.

InSlovakiaTheCapitalOfCourseIsBratislava · 27/10/2026 13:57

Puffin that has had an altercation with a wind turbine

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2026 13:57

There's surely a thesis to be written on the purpose of flags as identifiers that differentiate specific groups, but then expand, spiral, and become an exercise in non- differentiation.

InSlovakiaTheCapitalOfCourseIsBratislava · 27/10/2026 13:59

SPlitters!

lcakethereforeIam · 27/10/2026 14:02

RBL is the Royal British Legion.

A cardinal, probably because the males are the only ones I can think of that have red heads...the bird that is.

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2026 14:03

Chickens have wattles.

The threads show up in active. Often when there aren't even posts on them. That's how I found this part of the site. That's how I found nearly every part of the site I post on.

If the brown and black stripes represent skin colour, aren't the red and yellow now open to being interpreted as a bit😬

Datun · 27/10/2026 14:16

When asked, “How important is Pride month to you personally?”, the group that gave the most positive response was not gays, lesbians or bisexuals, but the transgender community

That article is two years old. Mumsnet really is like a crystal ball. Women on here identified the issue ten years ago.

Trans ideology consumes everything it touches.

Apparently there's even one for animals & yet the LGBTQ community doesn't 'deserve' one for their contributions?

What the Poppies Mean

  • Red Poppy: The standard symbol to remember those who died or suffered in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations, while symbolizing hope for a peaceful future.
  • White Poppy: Represents a focus on peace, commemorating all victims of war, including civilians as well as military personnel.
  • Purple Poppy: Specifically honors the animals that served, suffered, or died during military conflicts.
  • Black Poppy: Commemorates African, Black, and Caribbean communities, as well as all soldiers, civilians, and conscientious objectors affected by the legacy of war. 1, 2, 3]

This is getting as divisive and insufferable as the bloody identity flags.
