Mate, imagine how many more people are reading and seeing through you.

The key difference, I suppose, is that I have a life away from here. Which can't really be said for some of the more interesting members of this board.

She wasn't treated by her.

Dr Upton hasn't done anything except live and work as a trans woman. She hasn't assaulted or harmed anyone, but was driven out of this country and is still being pursued.

Sandie Pegg is a racist despised by her own colleagues.

A lot of people won't be satisfied until Dr Upton's dead. My God the hate. Where's this focus when cis male doctors sexually assault women and children, leave them in permanent pain and cause them cPTSD?

Rampant medical misogyny is literally killing women and ruining their lives, but transphobia's more important to you. That tells me everything.

Piffle.

So you couldn't find one post to quote where I'd advocated to "allow men access to women and girls in a state of undress"... The problem you've got is that you think there aren't other people reading this and seeing through you. You think the small number of name-changing 'super posters' are reflective of everyone. They aren't.

"The problem you've got is that you think there aren't other people reading this and seeing through you."

This is pure projection.

"You think the small number of name-changing 'super posters' are reflective of everyone. They aren't."

Actually, I honestly don't know what this means. Who are the "super posters", do they wear spandex and have superpowers like the X-men?
Are you talking about the GC posters? Of course I know the GC posters here aren't reflective of everyone.

What brand new, and not totally obvious at all, information are you going to tell me next, I doubt it could top the absolute stunner that was "not everyone thinks the same as you" but lets have it, I'm all agog! Is it that the Pope is Catholic? That bears shit in the woods? Tenterhooks I tell you!

Nobody wants him dead.
But people do want his knowledge of biological sex checked

If he genuinely believes his body is wrong then he needs help for his mental illness.
We do not allow anorexic to continue to believe they are fat, we as a society should not be allowing people to believe their body is wrong.

England's NHS has managed to grasb that biological sex matters.
I don't know what Scotland is waiting for.

Looks like he's doing his best to help turn the tide in Auz

We don't want him dead ffs. Talk about ridiculous hyperbole. We just want him to behave himself. He's more than old enough to know how to do that, yet seems utterly incapable of actually doing it.

Tears0fTheMushroom · Yesterday 01:34

alcovecupboards · Yesterday 00:03

I know quite enough to know I wouldn't want Sandie anywhere near me or my family.

And here's the thing. If you made that request, should the situation ever arise, Sandie would, I have no doubt, respect your request without making a fuss about it. Unlike the fragrant Dr. Upstart who thinks he can do whatever the hell he likes.

LadyCapybara · Yesterday 01:47

Just to add a bit of local information: in NSW public hospital emergency departments, it isn’t possible to request that only female doctors treat you. You can ask, but whether it is actioned totally depends on whether the staff are available. It is also possible to request a chaperone be present at all times, and it sounds like her husband was there anyway.

Port Macquarie Base Hospital is not large by any means. The ED wouldn’t have a high roster. It’s generally an area of retirees.

I assumed Cupboards was referring to our old friend IcelandicBaileyNorthernHowseThegoodnewsChoppingGretel etc. etc. by "name changing super posters"
Of course he meant poster - singular not plural unless he knows something we don't.

I had a bit of a revelation this morning about the difference between transsexual people and transgender people.

Transsexual people want to be their chosen sex, but know that they aren't and they also know that is a mental illness. That means they don't force acceptance. From what I can observe, it is generally traumatised, same-sex-attracted people and therefore it also makes sense for them to be part of the LGBT because they are same sex attracted. They also consistently push back on any type of transitioning for kids, either social or medical/surgical.

Transgender people think that they ARE their chosen sex and acceptance is either mandatory or harmful to THEM. This is displayed by the constant victim narrative. From what I can see, it is a mixture of SS-attracted and OS attracted people- and they are either adolescents or have a personality disorder as adults.

This is why it is too complicated to put them under the same umbrella. Both groups have a mental health disorder that is severe and persistent body dysmorphia, but TG also have a personality disorder, or an unstable sense of self. This is the reason why psychological assessment (not affirmation) needs to be at the heart of transitioning.

People like Dr Upton do not have the emotional capacity to see that they are men and deal with the dysphoria, and therefore choose aggression when they are reminded that no one else (not even their partner) sees them as such. They are dangerous to women BECAUSE they are Transgender and therefore have been given access to spaces and vulnerable women and have been proven by the Sandie Peggie case to not respect their boundaries.

Another misrepresentation in the article is this:

”The doctor, along with wife Zoe, has moved into a rented home in the resort, which has a burgeoning LGBTQIA+ scene.”

Any ‘scene’ there would be extremely tiny. The LGBTQIA population in the region makes up less than 1% of the population. Like I said earlier, it’s overwhelmingly retirees.

I don't read it that way. They may just mean that, despite Australia having lovely inclusive laws, there's always going to be some horrible bigot trying to spoil things.

Horrible bigots? Wow. Vulnerable women protecting their boundaries are horrible bigots? You sound nice.

Manyanamanyana · Yesterday 03:50

Imdunfer · 24/10/2026 19:35

I'm actually bloody furious about this on behalf of Australian women. 🤬🤬🤬

You want an intimate examination done by someone who doesn't have a penis and testicles and a person with a penis and testicles can insist on treating you and the hospital can threaten you with prosecution if you protest about it.

Just how fucking crazy does this trans bollocks get?

Thank the gods we have JK Rowling.

Edited

Thank-you @Imdunfer , it is disheartening being an Australian woman and reading this stuff. It is truly despicable and proves that "transwomen" just wanting to live their lives in peace is a monstrous lie.
What they want is the right to threaten and violate women with the full force of the law behind them.
And despite having more women in parliament than we've ever had before, they now have this right.
The frustrating thing is that there is a silent majority who disagree with this but it's not a voting issue for them, so it's difficult to see how progress will be made.
I genuinely despair.

Manyanamanyana · Yesterday 03:51

TheKeatingFive · 24/10/2026 19:41

@TransParentlyAnnoyed doesn’t think that women’s consent when it comes to delivering intimate medical care needs to be respected.

Isn’t that revolting?

Yep. Indefensible.

I read the ‘burgeoning’ as being perhaps more an aspirational description, just like it being referred to as a ‘resort’,

Maaate, it could just be, and I say this with love, no one cares enough about your ramblings to make the effort.

Helleofabore · Yesterday 06:28

No one has suggested that they want Upton dead. To make that statement is remarkable catastrophising and to post it shows the cognitive distortion being used to prop up a prejudice about people who reject that male people should be able to access female single sex provisions. Or in this specific case, to ask that a male doctor does not treat her if she requests a female doctor.

Mix in that distortion with over generalisation and it must surely sound more plausible to the poster. Still it is in no way an accurate representation of the position of most people on this board, let alone this thread.

Helleofabore · Yesterday 06:37

“Rampant medical misogyny is literally killing women and ruining their lives, but transphobia's more important to you. That tells me everything.”

This is another type of cognitive distortion that gets used all too often on these threads. Relative Privation. Where people will use issues they believe are more important to dismiss other’s opinions.

I also consider that when posters are attempting to shame women for discussing their needs for single sex provisions, such as rejecting a male health practitioner if they want a female person only, to be an act of misogyny. Because those doing it are wanting to direct women’s focus to address other issues as if the women discussing something are incapable to making choices for themselves.

Use of cognitive distortions such as these rarely indicate an indication of good faith discussion.

Imdunfer · Yesterday 07:04

alcovecupboards · 24/10/2026 23:18

Sandie Peggie is none of those things. She was thoroughly exposed as both racist, confrontational and bigoted. Her rights to single sex changing rooms and spaces should never have been an issue but let's not pretend she's a decent human being - she isn't.

I don't actually care what her character is, because she should never have been put in the position of fighting to get a male body out of a female changing room.

Her character is not relevant to why she had to fight this case.

I'm fully aware, as an assertive woman myself, how easy it is to be labelled aggressive and confrontational when a man would be simply called assertive and praised for sticking up for his rights.

And I'm grateful that she took her assertiveness and fought this case on behalf of all the women in this country who don't want a man in their changing rooms.

IcelandicBaileyNorthernHowseThegoodnewsChoppingGretel etc. etc.

It being an Aus centred thread I'm surprised he didn't pop up overnight to make his usual repeative baffling bullshit post's and attempt to blind us with his 'trans' science on how the grass is blue and the sky is green.

SirChenjins · Yesterday 07:14

Well done that woman and her husband for standing up to this. I can only hope that Lis has reflected on his comments in court and is showing more respect to women in Australia who don't want to be treated by male doctors. To insist on ignoring their wishes would be creepy behaviour at worst snd threatening behaviour at best. Decent men know this and stay away.
