Teacher upset with my child questioning about trans child

Was Called into school today.
My daughter has just started reception in September, it’s a lovely village school, and she’s made lots of friends and settled in really well.

Yesterday I was called into have chat with her teacher.
Was informed my child has a trans girl in her class, and that my child is questioning the teacher every day about this.
That all the other children accept this child was born in the wrong body, yet my daughter is questioning ‘too much’.

I said we encourage curiosity amongst our children, so am
not surprised.

The teacher then said that my child was taken to one side and read a couple of books :
My name is Jazz
and one about a crayon that feels like a different colour.
Which was astonishing to me, because really singling out a child to (as the teacher said ) “Get her on board”, feels very pushy.

My daughter is very kind, and plays with all the children in the class including the trans girl.
The teacher is not concerned with unkindness, but that my daughter is not accepting enough, and she has asked us to reiterate pronouns and that this child is a girl.

This is the first school experience for us, as previously my daughter was at a childminder

It feels very wrong to single out a child, and read books that introduce a concept that we haven’t broached with our children yet.

It's also true that the new guidance requires children to use toilets and changing facilities associated with their sex, for obvious safeguarding reasons. Why would you encourage a child in the belief they're the opposite sex and then wait until they're 8 for it to be revealed that actually they have to use a different toilet to the one they're expecting (or be separated out from all the other children), why can't they just be a feminine boy?

Exactly. It’s not nearly as simple as some of the genderists on this thread imagine it is.

So ive read a summary of tge kcsie guidance on transgender and cant figure out whst part of it you think the school is breaching?

Maybe this section
"Primary schools should exercise particular caution, and we would expect support for full social transition to be agreed very rarely. Schools should keep in mind the emphasis in the Cass Review on early clinical involvement when families are considering social transition for pre-pubertal children, including how to support their children in a non-directive way, whilst also keeping options open and flexible. The Cass Review emphasised that clinical involvement in the decision-making process should include advising on the risks and benefits of social transition as a planned intervention, referencing best available evidence. This is not a role that can be undertaken by staff without appropriate clinical training"

See KCSIE - 1st link below

As well as the new guidelines on teaching Sex, Relationships Health Education (see 2nd link) which are explicit that this must be age appropriate, that schools must not teach as fact that all people have a gender identity . (paras 67 onwards).

Belief in sex change is an adult ideology, little children can't possibly navigate.

Yes. This is what we do to young children if we pretend they're really the opposite sex

Childhood social transition is seen as 'kind.' A clinical psychologist explains what we set a child up for when we socially transition them.

But yes do carry on with the predictable, simplistic comparisons with gay rights. The trans rights movement is deeply homophobic. On a par with fundamentalist theists in believing that exclusive same sex attraction is something to be ashamed of. Because many TRAs don’t believe biological sex should ever be a valid category.

But thankfully their mother adored her child and didn't think they were a freak the way trans people are treated on here. So now she is happy. A lot happier than the people on here denigrating trans people day in and day out.

Your post would have been aimed at gay people back in the day. You know the days where gay young men died alone in case anyone caught Aids from them?

As it was their fault? Due to their fantasy?

That was and IS reality for people that are different and have people who spend their whole lives calling them mentally ill fantasists.

THERE IS NO COMPARISON BETWEEN SAME SEX ATTRACTED PEOPLE AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE THEY ARE THE OPPOSITE SEX.

Sounds a lot like section 28.

It’s absolutely nothing like Section 28. The lazy thinking here is extraordinary.

How does it benefit this child to make everyone around them play pretend they are the opposite sex?

RunsABit · Today 13:38

Differentforgirls · Today 10:41

Yep. Just like being gay.

Absolutely nothing like being gay. Same-sex attraction is inherent, trans is ideology. Lesbians, gay men and bisexual people don't 'choose' to be same-sex attracted, we just are. I'm not sexually attracted to men just as many posters here are not sexually attracted to women. Trans people are not born in the wrong body, they identify as a different sex but can never become that sex no matter what irreversible damage they do to their bodies or how much they whine about pronouns and misgendering.

LGB without the T. Or the Q or the + or any other bits of the alphabet soup.

And OP, if you ever come back, report this to the governors and OFSTED - the school is breaking KCSIE legislation.

princessleah1 · Today 13:39

I don't know why people are doubting whether this happened.
You are the parent and bring your child up in the way you like with your values. As long as they're "kind and friendly" as they say in reception, so what. There'll be children in the class who thing they're spiderman and all the other bonkersness of reception children.
If it was me I'd give the parent a wide berth. They're likely to be a powerful figure in the playground and cause all kinds of headaches.

PaterPower · Today 13:41

Five years old. That poor boy, because it has to be his parent(s) pushing the ‘wrong body’ bullshit with him (not at all helped by the school’s pisspoor approach).

Why not let him grow a bit before sticking labels on him?

Lovemelovemycat · Today 13:41

F knows how they get any teaching done when they seem to spend all their time pandering to the passing whims of kids. My child wouldn’t be returning to that school. World has gone mad.

What cognitive dissonance do you think is going on amongst the posters who know that humans can’t change sex and no child is ‘born in the wrong body’? 🤔

Yes that’ll work out well 🫠

If the teacher says "she" and the male-born child corrects it to "he" then who has transitioned this child against his will??? If this is real, surely the teacher should be questioning what's going on here.

This is exactly what I was wondering. Who decided the child is "trans" and uses opposite sex pronouns?

Eta - I do believe this thread is real

The bit where they shouldn't socially transition a child and can't compel other children to play along with the lie?

Tge summary i read said the school staff should not be the ones to INITIATE social transitioning (which they are not)

Can you link your summary? AFAIK that’s not the only thing it says about social transitioning, it says that it’s quite a serious intervention.

lifeturnsonadime · Today 14:09

Parent should be done for child abuse. 4/5 year old children can not understand the concept of being born in the wrong body. They can only be groomed to believe this.

Nice try.

It's pretty clear from the following that any school should not be participating in social transition, particularly of a 5 year old, especially if you look at the RSE guidance and the section on emotional abuse. I seriously doubt any clinical expert would advise not only the school to participate in social transition but also to gaslight and emotionally abuse other children who notice the child's real sex.

KCSIE also describes emotional abuse as introducing concepts that are developmentally inappropriate - which is clearly the case with genderism and a 5 year old child.

KCSIE: underlining mine

Primary schools should exercise particular caution, and we would expect support for full social transition to be agreed very rarely. Schools should keep in mind the emphasis in the Cass Review on early clinical involvement when families are considering social transition for pre-pubertal children, including how to support their children in a non-directive way, whilst also keeping options open and flexible. This is not a role that can be undertaken by staff without appropriate clinical training"

In the context of the fact of single sex toilets / changing / sleeping at puberty and no puberty blockers, I think it's vanishingly unlikely any clinician would support social transition in a school.

And even if they did, OP's child still can't be lied to, her speech compelled, and introduced to a developmentally inappropriate ideology and forced to pretend to believe it, That's emotional abuse.
