The teapot is just in case the candle flames get out of control, they couldn’t find the fire extinguisher. They’re very safety conscious gerbils.

Rum your new cat is gorgeous! I've never seen a cat like that, but Shiny referred to it as a 'calico' so it must be a known colouring, just not know to me,
who knows very little about cats, except knowing which ones look lovely, and your does!

As for a name - I immediately thought of the Bluestocking-inspired 'EmpressaurusKitty', 'Empressaurus' for.. er.... short?😃

She's been so busy with her babies and surviving rescue and everything that it would make her feel like she was going to be treated like royalty from now on, which I'm sure is the case.
And just think of the interactions with people

On the down side, the knee news is not so good, a meniscal tear😟
The only plus is that it's been caught early, because I know from experience that when they are unnoticed and then go big, it's dramatic, so I hope it gets sorted quickly and that'll be an end to it, no more trouble with it.

Nearly all calicos & tortoiseshells are girls & nearly all gingers are boys.

Kitty’s full name varies a bit but it’s along the lines of La Bella Caramella, Empress Kitty-Bellissima of the Seven Oceans.

My knee has been patched up thank you, it's Rum's knee that is currently in need of attention. But I'll gladly take the retrospective sympathy, as in my case what started out as a little meniscal tear became a dramatically bad one before it was noticed, and operated on, and I hope Rum has a much better experience because it's been caught early

Well, I managed to do some vacuuming, cut the all grass out back, which had grown uncontrollably as soon as it had started raining again, move some furniture (and wrench my shoulder- reminder to self: YOU ARE NOT 25 ANYMORE!), batch cook, all while keeping an eye on the infuriating RCN "not my department" idiots' responses to normal questions.

All I could think (besides, why did you decide to lift that table, what's wrong with you?) was: why do so many people get away with lying in a court of law? 😡

I think I have a lovely combo of hot flushes & PMS. Putting those two together should be illegal.

I’m going to do the washing up so I don’t have to face it in the morning, then have an early night.
