Welcome to The Bluestocking, the best (perhaps only) online women's pub. Nothing in the food or drink can harm you, everything is served by a very enthusiastic crew of gerbils, who enjoy doing this and other interesting things. Any curious menfolk are welcome at the Staunch Ally down the road.

If I have to write a list it's the absolute must do TODAY no pissing about list, otherwise the list just starts to go on and on and on.

My lists spawn baby lists.

Boiledbeetle · 13/10/2026 18:39

Have you seen the post it notes that solves the these are too small to write lists problem?

It makes avoiding your to do list very difficult.

I have. I've also seen the price!

I dread to think. When I bought them they were in the Amazon warehouse sale as the packaging was damaged.

<checks behind sofa for stray 6 packs of tea cakes>

Right the cellar is cleared of tat.

The engine is running and the gerbils are getting restless.

See you on the other side.

Toodles.

Gladys... Get in the back, I'm riding up front.

Is there anything you didn't buy in that warehouse sale? I'm seriously jealous. I love a good bargain, me. And having extra, just in case.

I do occasionally buy full price. But why would I if there is an available packaging damaged option for a fraction of the price?

Boiledbeetle · 13/10/2026 18:54

Yes alright Gwen!

Stop shouting!

I'm on my way out the door now!

Magpiecomplex · 13/10/2026 18:55

Right, what do we need to pack? Obviously the levitating pens are must-haves.

I have a couple of glass dishes that my mother only ever used at Christmas. One was for the home-made chutney at the cold buffet on Boxing Day and the other, a small dish with a lid, was used for rum butter - also home-made and a Cumbrian delicacy very popular in my family.

Boiledbeetle · 13/10/2026 18:59

And these remain my best ever warehouse bargain.

The outer box was torn. Never been opened, but had a tear in the side.

And now I'm really going to the new thread.

The gerbils are revving the engine.

So do I. Comes in handy when asked to knit something quickly over a weekend in a warm yarn for someone sensitive to wool, for example.

Unfortunately there is a concept in the knitting/ crochet world known as SABLE. It’s nothing to do with small animals yet to be seen in The Bluestocking. It’s
Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy,
and I passed that some time ago.

Boily, are you anywhere close to that in Tunnocks?

Not quite the right weather yet, but can I put in a request for a midwinter thread move by dogsled please?
In the meantime, I'll be loading tractor trailers if you need me.

Never! @Hedgehogforshort keeps sniffing out my hiding spots.
