Welcome to The Bluestocking, the best (perhaps only) online women's pub. Nothing in the food or drink can harm you, everything is served by a very enthusiastic crew of gerbils, who enjoy doing this and other interesting things. Any curious menfolk are welcome at the Staunch Ally down the road.

I’m on the way home from a terfy evening at the pub, left a bit early because I’ve got a busy day tomorrow. Now I just need to stay awake until my stop.

EmpressaurusKitty · 02/10/2026 22:27

Did it. Kitty & I are off to bed.

HAGANAPA everyone.

And to you too. Good to know there are some terfy pub evenings outside of the BS!Smile

MyrtleLion · 03/10/2026 00:19

Gosie hopes to be back on Sunday evening.

Is that Kitty's bed? it looks suitably regal.

I hope everyone had a good night, I've been leaving the Sleep and Dream Gerbils to their own devices recently, they are well-trained enough to do their jobs unbiddenSmile

I was looking through images on old threads and I came across this one, sorry I don't remember who posted it first, it was Gerbil As Poirot and it makes me laugh every time I look at it.Thank you for the 😂s!

I love looking through images on old threads, they are often hilarious in themselves but they also make me think WTF were we talking about at the time that evoked an image like that??

The entire flat is Kitty’s bed, Marie.

There's a story on the BBC News site about a football shirt prank.

The interesting thing for Bluestockingers is the wedding cake of the shirt's owner.

Crumbs - he's in Fife, but I've never heard this story.

WearyAuldWumman · 03/10/2026 13:58

Trying to decide whether to message my running coach to cancel going to Parkrun next week. I'm still choked full of a cold which I think started on Monday...It seemed to sneak up on me.

Given the cold impaired breathing, and wobbly legs I don't see how I'm going to manage. I was cajoled into doing a Parkrun while still recovering from my dental surgery and regretted it. (I finished only 2 minutes 35 seconds slower than my first run, but felt really miserable.)

Aaaaargh.

Legs are wobbly too. I suspect it's a 'relief' collapse from getting legal stuff sorted. None of it was of my making, but I was left with the fallout from a mistake made by a lawyer 50 years ago.

I have developed a dislike for incompetent lawyers. How difficult is it to copy the correct spelling of a name, eh?

It's clearly Hercule Hamster.

EmpressaurusKitty · 03/10/2026 14:20

If you’re feeling that bad Wumman., I think you should rest.

MarieDeGournay · 03/10/2026 14:36

The team doc thinks you should sit this one out, WAW, and observe the return-to-play post-cold protocolsSmileFlowers

I saw Fuzzy on another thread recently but can’t remember which.

Don't go running with an active virus in your system, it could kill you.

My nasty cold took more than 8 days to clear. I just hope it's left me immune to its cousins.

I’d think any good coach would tell you to sit this one out, Weary. Flowers

Better news here - MrDragon’s ankle is now sufficiently recovered that we donned boots and had a decent walk in the Silverdale area, though avoiding paths with a lot of slippery limestone. There were many dragons - this one and another adorned his back for a moment prompting some discussion as to whether they bite (apparently they can but only defensively👍). And we returned to Morning Glories as blue as the sky.

I need to finish my second mug of tea and go out to plant some anemone corms I’ve had soaking since yesterday.

I've sent a message on the RunningClub WhatsApp group, but no reply.

Have been doing a lot of sleeping.

Sent out to the Co-op for supplies via JustEat, so I'm fine for lemon drinks etc.

AsWithGlad · 03/10/2026 18:14

Following the recent Bluestocking trend, I am almost posting this from A&E.

111 sent me to A&E, who triaged me and sent me to urgent care.

It’s a minor injury and, had I been at home, I would just have gone to bed to rest but because I was in company doing my hobby (which MN would say was too outing to mention) I started with two first aiders looking after me.

In the waiting room they have BBC 1 on the TV so this evening I’ll be doing exactly what I would have done at home, that is watching Strictly.

Excuse me if I don’t post for a while. I’ll check in again when I get home.

You have my sympathies, Glad. Miserable place to spend Saturday evening, hopefully you are seen and treated quickly.

How on earth did you get deleted, Boily?! I read what you wrote, and I'm baffled.
