Why do some people view JK Rowling as transphobic?

1000 replies

Backwardsbinn · 13/08/2026 20:33

Where do people get the idea that JK Rowling is transphobic from? Where? I’m having this argument with an acquaintance who tells me she’s the most transphobic person on earth but cannot point to one single thing that she’s done or said that’s transphobic. Is this the widest held totally bullshit view ever?

So you don't understand the difference between at sex class and a persons interaction with a group of stereotypes. Perhpas go sort that out.

At its heart, it's very simple. Women's single sex spaces exist for women's safety and dignity. Why on earth would we make an exception for one group of men? What's the justification for that?

a persons interaction with a group of stereotypes.

A grade cope.

Males & females are psychologically the same but not when convenient. Gotcha!

Backwardsbinn · 19/08/2026 08:39

Northernlightsss · 19/08/2026 08:19

Um, doesn't that 'logic' kinda go against the alleged trans stereotyping of 'woman' behaviour if men are different psychologically than women?

Make up your mind.

99% of sexual assaults on women are carried out by men. We don’t know who the good men or the bad men are, so all men are removed from women’s single sex spaces.

Can we agree that this is the right thing to do? I’d certainly hope so!

You seem to be completely ignorant of the timeline of events. Most of Arday's claims about his personal life came up after he was appointed at Cambridge & after he was accused of plagiarism.

So the point you are spectacularly missing is this only came under the spotlight because people accused him falsely of plagiarism AND did so because he was black.

You don't seem to understand what the words 'double standards' mean or don't want to acknowledge that & are using his alleged lies to divert from it.

  1. No one gives a flying stuff if they came before, during or after the accusations. The fact is he did them.
  2. There is no 'alleged' about it, it was proven he plagiarised. That's not even in question even with his supporters.

Of course you don't care because its inconvenient to understand how we actually got here to start with & its called 'white supremacy'.

Please stop embarrassing yourself.

And Northernlightsss still won't explain why as males transwomen can't enter....male spaces. Cowardly ignoring the question.

Men are different physically to women

that inevitably drives some differences in behaviour

men don’t worry about getting pregnant for example and take steps to manage that risk

No, stop weaponising my race in a racist manner. You want it to be about white supremacy, rather than what it is. A con artist and fraud being caught out.

Sorry, it’s white supremacy to notice when someone is lying and lying and lying if that person is black?

wow, seems a slightly racist take?

And females as a class overwhelmingly engage in sex typical behaviours. This isn’t a small difference in numbers, it’s overwhelming.

See where this is going Einstein? Now see if you can join the dots after zillionth time.

You really are arguing that there are no statistics on male behaviour aren’t you?

With perhaps a side order of pretending that males and females are not significantly different in terms of physical size and strength and propensity to use that strength to get their own way.

Or else why the silly deflection?

What is an example of stereotypical sexed behaviour that female people exhibit that is also a danger to male people?

Your arguments are poor and woolly.

Men and women are physically different.

Now answer the question. What would be the justification for allowing one group of men into women's spaces? But not any other group of men?

Yes, because of their sexed bodies

which zero men have

even ones with a gender identity

even ones with cosmetic surgery

I don’t think @UtopiaPlanitia is defending Khelif, she’s showing that he’s never identified as trans so the likes of TransParentlyAnnoyed shouldn’t be using that as some kind of gotcha.

As for Khelif being female - what a crock of bollocks (retained or otherwise). You’ve only got to see how his male team around him treat and interact with him to know that they don’t really see him as female, either.

I know, and I apologise, @UtopiaPlanitia , I didn't mean to come across as critical of you.

This whole thing just makes me so angry: the blatant gaslighting by Khelif and/or his team, the craven behaviour of official bodies, the trans lot trying to co-opt it as one of their cases...

You haven't. At least don't lie. We can all read the thread. You have not answered why males aren't safe in male spaces, and why 1% of males should be allowed in female only spaces and 99% not.

PROTECTION OF SINGLE SEX SPACES IS ABOUT PHYSICAL BODIES NOT DIFFERENCES IN MALE AND FEMALE PSYCHOLOGY.

Read some of the replies to your posts.

You really need to clarify your thinking it’s a mess.

Although if you really believe the important differences between male and female are primarily psychological and we can ignore the massive elephant in the room of physical differences (which seems to be the case you are making in many of your posts) then I’m not surprised at your lack of logic or ability to follow an argument.

So once a racist has noticed, no one else can notice afterwards without also being racist?

Again, what's racist is applying a double standard of public scrutiny on plagiarism. THATS MY POINT. I'm not trying to argue that there wasn't a public interest in a highly positioned academic lying but rather what started it AND why which is RACISM.

No you haven't

I'll ask again ...

What's the justification for letting one group of men into women's single sex spaces, but no other men?

It's a simple enough question

You don’t work in academia, do you?
Lying and passing of work as your own is a massive deal.
