We buy loads of this stuff as we are big peanut butter consumers in my household. Not any more though after seeing this policy. Imagine being a GC person working for this company 🙁As ever, their definition of "inclusion" centres firmly around one protected characteristic, and to hell with anyone who thinks sex matters in certain situations.

Can anyone recommend a good crunchy, oil free peanut butter with just just a sprinkling of salt sold in 1kg tubs 🙏🏻

They all go solid towards the bottom if you don't stir them, its just the oil separating out because of relative density.

I looked at the Patental leave policy and it is on the generous side (and equal for men and women).

Ooh, I've not seen that TERF description before and now I've seen it twice in one day. It's definitely giving off a 'bloody hell we're losing, let's be even more aggressive and insulting' vibe. What is a woman @GladLemonCritic ? Is it fascistic to know it's an adult human female?

I wonder why they don't see the problem with this as business people....

Allowing time off ("encouraging") gender affirming appointments will cause them a whole heap of trouble if that person ever decides they were harmed by this....

In addition, knowing discrimination policy, it sooo discriminates against, say, women needing time off for sick kids or dependant parents - which is unpaid, Vs paid time off for this....they will in future be taken to the cleaners by industrial tribunals.

Do you think they have not realised that the guidance is for service providers and not employers. As employers the single sex provisions are also regulated by health and safety legislation. Seems odd.

Ours is made fresh at our local refill shop. It's really good.

I get Mothernutter peanut butter Shop Now — Mothernutter Peanut Butter for no reason other than that it's a small business quite local to me and the product is fine. I have no idea about the owners' politics but, as with several other small local businesses that I like to buy from, I don't care as long as they're not using political views that I find problematic in their marketing.

I wonder if the paid time off for family members would also cover anxiety, depression and insomnia because you think your child is making a huge mistake. 😔

Have you tried the Hot & Smoky one? It sounds amazing but when I’ve tried peanut butters that have been messed-about-with I’ve not been that impressed.

Oh and v disappointed in Pip & Nut. Although not surprised…. I wonder if they thought this declaration would help with sales/ would be great free advertising/ would be a good look? Like many have said I just want to buy things I like. I do not need to know the owners or the companies political views. Nor should those views become part and parcel of their marketing strategy.

I don't know this company, don't eat peanut butter, am not in the UK, so I had a look at their website to find out more about them.

They seem to do lots of good stuff on the environment, supporting the community etc. so it's a shame that they've gone off on a trans tangent.

They have an EDI statement on their website 'Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI)' which is very broad and bland, and doesn't single out any group for special mention.

Just imagine if they gave employees with disabilities the same level of cosseting!

I've bought so many of their products over the years but I can't support a company that views women (like me) having the legal right to our own spaces and single-sex provision as a negative thing.

I really like Sunpat, 95% peanuts with some salt and sugar. Its much nicer than the pip and nut one IMO.

Another vote for Meridian. I used to add a little salt, but I actually prefer it without now. There are crunchy and smooth versions. I add a few drops of groundnut (peanut) oil if it dries up a litlle. Available from Tesco in 1 kg tubs or smaller jars.

Dolphin Fitness is great. I bulk buy different types of tea from there and get a really good discount.

Oh yawn. It’s going too far to chase down every supplier like this. A bit obsessed.

I like supporting companies with good ethics. However, their Linkedin post is them weighing in heavily on one side of a contested issue. Putting single sex in scare quotes is what has particularly pissed me off. What message does that send to employees or customers who think that sex is a real, definable thing (how did we ever manage in the past?) and that sometimes sex matters.

We haven't got to the bottom of first tub yet but it's easy to stir so I don't think will be a problem.

I hate peanut butter, so perhaps it should not be surprising that I'd never heard of this company until they went viral for their trans policy. I'll stick with supermarket own-brand peanut butter for the kids.

Not really. Now I know about that one, I'll just change my peanut butter. No big stress is it?

Cynical hat on, it's surely more obviously a risky venture for employers to go beyond their statutory responsibilities concerning disability and staff sickness, because any one of us, at any time, can develop a serious condition that will necessitate months off work and once back at work, time out of the working day to attend hospital appointments to keep the condition well managed. In fact, the odds of developing such a condition go up as we age. If you commit to being a supportive employer and your business is expanding, the chances are you will have to meet those commitments eventually.

But trans ideology teaches that people are born trans and that no-one would ever say they were trans if they weren't genuinely trans!

So if you're an employer who accepts these doctrines, it will seem a much less risky business to publicise a trans-inclusive policy, and then carefully only employ people you perceive to not identify as trans.
