Pissed you can't piss in peace

Being trans right now is to be institutionally discriminated against. It’s having to worry about where and when you can go to the loo. Which is fucking outrageous. That this should happen under a so called Labour government is unforgivable.

Meanwhile we stagger on. If you want backup using a toilet I’m yours. I’ll walk into the ladies with you and tell people to back the fuck off if I have to. I will walk into the men’s too if I have to, so everyone is scandalised at me while you get a chance to sneak in and have a piss in peace. The situation is ludicrous - what I can do is a drop in the ocean, but drop I will.

Maybe I need to print myself a t-shirt that says fighting for the freedom to piss in peace. I don’t know. The world is on fire both metaphorically and literally, yet of all the things one could do a big chunk of people have chosen to gang up on a vulnerable minority. It’s like watching people dig their own graves.

Just to say thanks for the reports about this thread. We think it likely that people will want to post about the EHRC guidance coming into force. From our perspective it's not really up to us to dictate how they feel about it, so we wouldn't automatically remove a thread that raises the issue, even if provocatively proposed. It's up to people to engage or disengage with the issue raised as they see fit?

Dadalus · 05/08/2026 13:43

I'm male. Just checking whether you're fighting for my right to use women's toilets and communal changing rooms, or just men who ID as trans? Thanks.

GreyskySexRealistsky · 05/08/2026 13:44

Maybe I need to print myself a t-shirt that says fighting for the freedom to piss in peace.

Yeah, do that. It's not as if anyone will think it's a creepy thing to do.
It could be useful to have people announce their anti-women bias so publicly.

Thank you for your rational response, although the very fact there have been reports - rather than serious engagement - hugely underlines the major issue to which I'm alluding 🙄

Just use the loos for your biological sex, there’s a good chap.

You’re not being discriminated against, you’ve got the same rights as everyone else. What you haven’t got is the extra privileges you’ve demanded.

As for “the world being on fire”, maybe dial down the hyperbole. Life’s calmer that way.

Palomiino · 05/08/2026 13:48

If you’re a genuine transsexual with gender dysphoria, you would have put effort into passing as the opposite sex and nobody would question you.

Calls for "serious engagement" but states that "a big chunk of people have chosen to gang up on a vulnerable minority"

Oh the hyperbole.

No. Women want their spaces back. Girls want their spaces back. Men who care about women and girls want them to have their spaces back.

Just piddle in the right pot for your sex. It's not difficult.

murasaki · 05/08/2026 13:50

Your use of 'pissed' implies you are American, so surely it's not your problem?

i can always tell, and the space is reserved for females.

its not for him.

HelpmaBoabb · 05/08/2026 13:51

I'd suggest you think very carefully about using the women's toilets if you are a man (and you sound like you are). There are lots of male partners who have taken a long time to waken up to the dangers of males in female toilets and who are not happy at all. Just saying.

DeanElderberry · 05/08/2026 13:51

Everyone has a right to use a loo, just as they always have had.

The law has clarified which loo they should use - in other words, just as it always was, the one for their own sex. Their gender is irrelevant. It's their sex that matters. It always was.

The only thing that will stop using the loo being a peaceful experience for anyone is if they turn it into a territorial attack.

Men (members of the male sex) using a loo to launch a territorial attack on women (members of the female sex) are not promoting peace.

Women (members of the female sex) using a loo to launch a territorial attack on men (members of the male sex) are not promoting peace.

OP, your post stating you will fight people and swear at people suggests you do not actually want peace.

LizzieSiddal · 05/08/2026 13:52

Why is it all about loos? This guidance also applies to many other places including prison and rape crisis centres. Remember Karen White, the rapist put in a female prison because he said he was trans,
halfway through police investigations? Lo and behold he goes and sexually assaults four women!! Who’d have thought it eh!!

This guidance ensures that will never happen again, I want to know why every right thinking person is not supporting it.

Now you know how women who are afraid of sharing their spaces with people with male genitals feel.

I'm surprised that a thread that seems to be hinting at violence against service users who wish to comply with the law is something that MN wants to allow for discussion and engagement.

Ah no, to be very clear, reports are essential to the wellbeing of the site.
Please, everyone, keep making reports when you see something that concerns you.
And, again this message to everyone, please keep to the usual rules and engage in good faith on our site.

I assume you are American: 'pissed' means drunk in the UK, not angry.
However I will reply from a UK perspective

Being trans right now is to be institutionally discriminated against.
No. Gender Reassignment is specifically protected in the Equality Act.

It’s having to worry about where and when you can go to the loo. Which is fucking outrageous.
You can use the loo for your biological sex. No need to worry about it.

I don't like the forced teaming of left-wing politics with identity politics, but perhaps that is for another post.

Male-pattern aggressiveness.

The world is on fire both metaphorically and literally,
Kind of. Climate change and out-of-control wild fires are hugely serious.

yet of all the things one could do
It is possible to fight for multiple causes and campaigns at once.

a big chunk of people have chosen to gang up on a vulnerable minority.
No, we have chosen to protect the rights of a vulnerable majority - i.e. women.
I see no reason to treat trans people as any more vulnerable than many other minorities of many kinds. Given that transwomen are male-bodied, they are physically less vulnerable than most women.

Yes, I thought that at first.

But really, it's another opportunity to provide killer take-down arguments.

Not that I'm seeing any of the engagement called for by the OP so far.

EdithStourton · 05/08/2026 13:56

Once upon a time a lot of women were reasonably tolerant of - though often somewhat unsettled by - transsexuals who wanted to use the women's facilities.

But oddly enough, after No Debate, piss protests, men with loudhailers and whistles disturbing women-only meetings, women losing their jobs, intact men insisting on getting their kit off in women's changing rooms and expecting the women to return the favour, men exposing themselves in women's spaces, men demanding to placed in women's prisons and men pinching women's sporting awards, that toleration has worn away nothing.

So far as I am concerned, TW can just fuck off to the gents. All of them, because the ones who are not TRAs were too lily-livered to stand up to them, and left women to do it. and if they don't like being in there with the big boys, they might want to think about women feel about having the boys in their loos.

TeenToTwenties · 05/08/2026 13:58

Trans people don't have to worry. They use the loos of their sex like the rest of the population. If challenged they reply politely. Sorted.

10 years or whatever ago trans rights campaigners could have chosen to campaign for additional unisex individual toilets. But they didn't, instead they spread the lie that trans people could use opposite sex facilities.

Some transsexuals do pass. They are the ones you don’t see. The problem is that ‘trans’ has become a personality trait. It’s a space now co-opted by many many, men who don’t have gender dysphoria at all - they just have loud, entitled voices.

@IntolerantOfIntolerance sounds like one of those totally real women who have absolutely lovely but sad and vulnerable trans friends/relatives who wouldn't hurt a fly and you can't tell anyway, but who can't understand why any woman wouldn't want to welcome TW into all of the SSSs because they've never had any problems, so we must all be hateful bigots funded by the far right Christian nazis.

Or maybe it is a mate of SmashHate, (or what ever the username was, as they seem to be from the same name generator) who didn't get any good screenshots from previous threads?

Pingponghavoc · 05/08/2026 14:00

Over on trans reddit the boys are either furious or excited at the idea of being found in the ladies.

Either way, it includes lots of violent and misogynistic language.

Good work fellas.

InSlovakiaTheCapitalOfCourseIsBratislava · 05/08/2026 14:01

Toilets and changing rooms are the only single sex space which most people engage with
But this single sex space legislation allows single sex prisons, women’s refuges and the other services most people are lucky enough not to ever need to use or even see

WallaceinAnderland · 05/08/2026 14:01

The Piss in Peace Inconsistency.

If the sex of the person in the cubicle next to you doesn't matter, then transwomen can use the mens to piss in peace.

If the sex of the person in the cubicle next to you does matter then biological men have no business being in the female facilities.

Either it matters or it doesn't, you can't have it both ways.
