I suspect it's because the police only grudgingly sacked him so he's still one of their own. Or as someone else said, he's in the same Masonic Lodge as someone high up.

And because they know he's a bloke and therefore deserves preferential treatment.

I have serious concerns that tax payers money is being used for the police to act as proxy bullies for a disgraced former police constable.

Is this also a problem of police forces not being properly joined up? But I do worry that police officers don't Google before they make arrests on this sort of charge.

I think it might be even nastier than that. They don't give a monkey's about Watson, most involved probably have no idea who he is, or the fact he was ever a copper. He just gives them an excuse to bully and victimise the kinds of people they want to bully and victimise.

This is a kafkaesque story. Surely there must be a way to get this (and other) enraged men to have accountability and stop vexatious and baseless complaints.

There’s a clear pattern here that should be investigated for inappropriate use of police powers and public funds.

The fact the copper didn’t even bother to do the smallest soupçon of due diligence on the complainant is disquietingly shoddy as well.

We deserve a better police force than this.

I can only assume, that being an ex policeman, he words his complaints in a manner that fits the system, and computer says yes. 🤷‍♀️

I thought all this banging on doors at 2 am was used for rounding up gangs of drug dealers etc so that they couldn't alert each other.

The (lack of) criminality of social media posts seems to be such a waste of their time, unless there are loads of people being woken for voluntary interview at 2am and being convicted that we don't know about.

Poor Colin was on a temp account the other day on X, haven't checked to see if he got his main back yet. No doubt the TRAs reported him en masse.

Because the process is the punishment, the police are well aware that there will be no charges, but it means that they can go out in the middle of a quiet night shift and terrify a law abiding tax payer for holding a particular, legal, view

I suppose that's why most of these complaints go nowhere (and Watson agitates for a Judicial Review)
It only takes one idiot activist (or misogynist bully) to decide to take it further probably knowing perfectly well it won't fly but relishing the "process is the punishment" aspect of it all.
