I should also mention to declare a conflict of interest that I’ve always found dunking biscuits in hot drinks disgusting!

My dad used to have that and wouldn't use anything else, while the rest of the family had Aquafresh (with 3 stripes!). It was absolutely vile. And pink. And very medicinal tasting. Bleugh.

I can vouch for Lidl caramel wafers as being very similar to the FWR staple.

@MyrtleLion I respectfully disagree on the marzipan, I've not tried root beer but celery is the work of the devil.

Celery as a stick is preferable to chopped though. Makes it easier to lob it into the bin in one go.

I cannot bear the idea of dunking things into a drink. Mushy biscuit and BITS in your drink <shudder>

But pleasurable. Oh so pleasurable!

I hate it when I get the timing wrong and half a Rich Tea or Digestive falls into the cup and turns my tea into a heap of soggy crumbs. Ginger Nuts reliably don't do this.

Ginger nuts and bourbons. Dunking anything else is off the table for me. And only in coffee or hot chocolate as I loathe tea (apart from honey , ginger and lemon, that's the only acceptable tea for me, no dunking allowed in that).

Dunking Bourbons <sucks in breath> ooh, dunno about that. OK, maybe in hot chocolate.

Rich Tea tastes best for dunking in tea (it'sin the name!) but the risk of biscuit collapse makes it a delicate operation.

True, but you can mitigate it by choosing a more structurally sound biscuit. And moderating the length of dunking. It's a science, dontcha know.
