@GenderlessVoid ’when they found out he was trans.’
Was it more the fact he was a boy/man and thus ineligible for a girls/women’s scholarship, and not because he was simply ‘trans’ identified? If it was a girl/woman who said they adhered to this ideology and identified as ‘trans’, that would not have made them ineligible. As long as they aren’t taking performance enhancing drugs.
So, it seems the university found out his sex was male, and he was trying to take a woman’s scholarship. Maybe the university did know and were shamed into rescinding the few opportunities afforded to women being given to a boy/man because it was made public. Maybe the boy/man was deceptive, and never revealed he was male. Thankfully some groups advocating against this onslaught against women and girls were reporting on it.
I see he came from California, and was being allowed to take girls’ sports accolades. What a boy? (Or what a cheat). Also University of Washington only give two or three of these scholarships per year, and they extend over four years. Good that it didn’t go to a male who is cheating by competing in a sex category in which he doesn’t belong. And shame on everyone who is enforcing/enabling the trampling all over these young girls.
I’m not having a go at you @GenderlessVoid . I’m just trying to peel away the language used so that it is not obfuscating the situation.
