YouGov Poll shows what parliament would look like if only women could vote

Picturisation of the voting intentions of women aged 18-50 shows a parliament overwhelmingly stuffed with parties which are openly pro-trans.

When will the gender critical movement let go of the disingenuous narrative that they speak for or represent women when they clearly don’t?

Every single MP could be a member of an openly pro-trans party and still humans would not be able to change sex. Science isn't settled by voting and majorities.

GeneralPeter · 12/05/2026 20:55

That’s pretty simplistic. Compare:

Environmentalists claim to care about the interests of humanity. But globally under 1% of the population vote for them. This proves they are being disingenuous.

GriseldaandMike · 12/05/2026 20:57

I'm over 50 am I not a woman?

CassOle · 12/05/2026 21:00

Have you got a breakdown of why this age group is voting for the Greens?

How many are voting because they support Gender Identity being more important than biological sex when it comes to single-sex spaces, sport, prisons, rape crisis centres, etc.?

How many are voting for them because they care about the environment?

How many support both as above?

How many voted for the Greens for a different reason?

nutmeg7 · 12/05/2026 21:03

People decide who to vote for across a huge range of issues.

It’s not a proxy for “Are you ok with male people in women’s single sex spaces/ refuges/ prisons/ taking women’s awards/ taking women’s prizes in sport?”

It could just as easily be a proxy for “Do you want a more progressive taxation system?”

If you want to know what women think about allowing all males who say they are trans into women’s spaces/ sports/ refuges/ prisons etc, then you would have to ask them that instead of just asking about voting intentions.

I know you are desperate to scold us for wrong think, but this is a stretch.

Apparently not one that counts to the OP.

There has been some horrific agism on here recently from pro-gender identity posters.

We mustn't be!!
I think there's a separate "old hags" category 🤔

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 12/05/2026 21:08

Women hate women almost as much as men hate women.

Perhaps that's why men over 50 who identify as female think they are girls?
0-17 girl
18-50 woman
51+ girl again

GeneralPeter · 12/05/2026 21:08

Also @FireBucket, where did you get your data and how much of your claim relies on the effects of FPTP?

Why have these age limits? Is this one of those awful "people who menstruate" things.

Or is it maybe because if you did "what would Parliament look like if only over 35yo women could vote" there would be hardly any green seats at all.

Edited

Maybe?:

18-50 'cute anime waifu'
51+ girl again

@FireBucket Have done the legwork for you. It doesn’t support your claim.

Is there any reason why you are ignoring the 14 million women who are over 50 in the UK?

GreyskySexRealistsky · 12/05/2026 21:15

Did YouGov check those women's genitals?

I would hope so

Summerhillsquare · 12/05/2026 21:16

In my experience the non GC/rad fem women don't think of self ID or trans rights as a pressing issue for the UK. They think climate change, equal pay, childcare, human rights generally are all important though - is left leaning, and that's what the Greens offer.

This topic is naturally very skewed towards trans issues being the be all and end all, for most women it just isn't a priority.

Kingdomofsleep · 12/05/2026 21:16

And I know this has been said a lot before but it bears repeating. The tory party has had no fewer than 3 female prime ministers and currently has a female leader.

Say what you like about them, the tory party see women as real people with their own opinions and talents.

Left wingers just see women as an amorphous blob, to be objectified or patronised. Look at this thread alone, lumping all women into one predictable voting bloc.

lifeinthelastlane · 12/05/2026 21:22

Generally I don't like to vote for politicians who don't have a basic grip on reality (and honesty)

Not a frequent voter then? 😉

There are about 13 million women aged 18-50 and 12 million women aged over 50. All of us have the vote.

Good catch @GeneralPeter

The image in the OP first surfaced on the Instagram account Visegrad 24 - a news outlet with a reputation for low reliability and opaque structure.

@FireBucket you’re trying to push a specific right wing agenda here. Reported.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 12/05/2026 21:29

I'm so bored of the endless ageism of the RSOH. Their age phobia is off the scale

anyway does anyone know how parliament would look if only women with the surname smith could vote? Or only women with blue eyes? Or only women who are mothers? Or women who are not mothers? They are just as meaningful a range as when between 18-50

Theeyeballsinthesky · 12/05/2026 21:30

RogueFemale · 12/05/2026 21:24

There are about 13 million women aged 18-50 and 12 million women aged over 50. All of us have the vote.

It must be so irritating for the RSOH that all the pesky women have a vote not just those who agree with them

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 12/05/2026 21:31

What does it matter if women here don't speak for all women?

Men who identify as women don't speak for all men, by any means - they are a tiny proportion. By your logic OP, should we just ignore them? Ignore what they say they feel and need? Trample over them and say 'never mind, most men are fine?'

I don't think you'd be happy with that.

What makes you so happy about doing it to women?

Kingdomofsleep · 12/05/2026 21:31

To take an analogy - about ethnic minorities. Left wingers do like to harp on about anti-racism but then exhibit shocking stereotypes themselves. I have, several times IRL had gasps of shock when it's revealed I don't have leftie views even though I'm "a POC" (hate that phrase), and a naturalised immigrant. They seem to expect that everyone of certain demographics should behave in predictable ways.

And this checks out with the leaderships too. Again, which party has not had any ethnic minority leaders (ever)? The Labour Party. Because they don't see people as real individuals with their own ideas, just a set of labels. If you're of this ethnicity or that religion, you probably have such and such views.

But real people are individuals.
