How do we address men’s violence against women as an epidemic?

It's not all men but it's always men and I'm fucking sick of it.

Yet another woman murdered by her ex who blew her (and himself) up with an explosive device.

I don't know what my point is really, just that I feel so sick and angry about this. The poor woman phoned 999 and, to be fair, it seems the police were on site within 5 minutes but he'd already killed her by then.

This is an epidemic but how do we address it?

How do we change society to become matriarchal?

How do you convince men that we are human beings and not just to convince the really bad ones that rape and kill us but the ones that look away, laugh at the locker room talk but treat you well when away from their mates. The ones that sort of agree with those men but know they can't voice it because they'll lose access to women and have their reputation ruined?

I don't know how realistically it can change except to have less children or pethaps less boy children....

It won't change from the men's side becauze they love the power. They enjoy it.

I will never forget a male friend thst sat down and spoke to me about it once.

He said to me "I will tell you honestly how a lot of men think. They enjoy the power over women. Would you give up that power? "

The change will not come from the male side. As they do not eant to change.

The change has to come from the oppressed female side. We have to rise up more.

My posts are not a derailment, because we cannot address violence of men against women without considering violence as a whole

This is pretty much my opinion. I don't think we can eliminate men's violence against women while ignoring men's violence against others (men, children, animals etc).

I don't know how realistically it can change except to have less children or pethaps less boy children....

Are you arguing for eugenics/sex-selective abortion? Yikes. Comments like this remind me why I don't associate with radical feminism anymore.

No, I disagree, we can and should focus exclusively on men’s violence against women. It really is a separate issue, fueled by very specific beliefs and attitudes that need to be challenged and changed. Something radical must be done. Perhaps not less male children, but educational efforts aimed at young adolescent males definitely.

Why not fewer male children?

Try to not be rude and obstinate when people are trying to demonstrate a balanced perspective based on their experiences and minimising those with sarcasm and hostility.

Thanks.

This is not a perspective that can be 'balanced'. The overwhelming majority of violence in this country is perpetrated by men...especially against women.

That's the discussion at hand. You're welcome to start your own thread about your cousin and MIL. You'll be called out if you consistently try to deflect from this topic.

Scarlettjune · 11/05/2026 13:06

How can we change anything when women never to seem to agree on anything cohesively and never seem to support each other?

PeachyDaisy · 11/05/2026 13:12

The majority of violence is perpetuated by men against men. You can have your own opinions but you can't have your own facts.

So much misandry on this board. I may be gender critical but that doesn't mean that I hate men nor do I think we should use eugenics to reduce the number of male children. Some you have some real issues if that is how you think.

lornad00m · 11/05/2026 13:14

Yeah. I'm done. It's clear that a serious discussion about violence against women by men can't happen unless MN are proactive about clamping down on posters who consistently derail the conversation. And that just isn't happening.

2016NotATeen · 11/05/2026 13:26

I think it’s so obvious when someone is trying to derail the thread. I can strongly visualise them in my head just by their ‘tone’. The trick is to just ignore - don’t quote their thread back at them, just move on to the comments that you want to engage with. That’s not to say every comment that doesn’t 100% chime with my own thoughts isn’t worthy of engagement - it’s just the ones that have that ‘high-horsey’, flouncey, indignant and chidey tone. It just builds a picture in my head IYSWIM?

Peachydeasy even if the most violence in this country is by men to other men, (and i dont think the numbers are accurate as many women are too afraid to report physcial domestic violence)

How is violence of men to men relevant to this thread?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/05/2026 13:27

That figure also doesn’t involve sexual violence.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/05/2026 13:28

But yes, in terms of non sexual physical violence men are both most of the perpetrators and victims.

From reported statistics. That is not accurate

Many women don't report domestic violence, for many reasons.

It is easier for a man to report a stranger punching him on the street. Other witnesses will even call the police for hom

Then it is for a woman to report her husband punching her, when he will have wore her down mentally and emotionally
