Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn9enygvezeo

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5456759-sexismother-issues-in-the-green-party-england-wales-discussion-thread-2?

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

James Meadway was a leading ideas man in Corbyns clique in the late 2010s. He's now switched to the greens. New idea from him:

Nationalise Morrisons

🙏 please god save us from the terminally stupid.

Maybe instead of the idiot in New York he should pay more attention to history, such as the USSR.

And as a side note I hope my Morrisons isn't one of the one's due to be closed. 😰

I can understand why CD has burnout. Must be bloody exhausting with all the middle class identity politics that the Greens seem to thrive on, especially in Bristol.

Pingponghavoc · 23/05/2026 08:18

I think its strange that with all the publicity around the Greens at the moment, their MPs elected in 2024 arent that visible. Its just ZP and HS.

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/05/2026 05:04

In other Green news, Carla Denyer announced yesterday that she is taking leave of absence from her MP duties due to burnout.

Very interesting timing. Just as the 40 day chance to vote against the EHRC code starts in Parliament.

Separate thread on the Greens response to the code has started here:

Zack Polanski and the code | Mumsnet

Has anyone seen any comment from Polanski regarding the EHRC code? As far as I can tell, he's conspicuously silent.

Thanks for the link

"A spokesman for the Green Party in Hackney said: “The election made it clear that Hackney residents want change, and we are excited to deliver that."
I have a feeling the the residents didn't know what sort of bonkers changes they've voting for.

"They will also refuse to share information with immigration enforcement agencies and will instead “support” those targeted by raids."
Another USA import, I'm beginning to think they not only put foreign nationals on the governments but the Greens are a foreign political party.

Yes American Discourse tends to end up being imported

Every day that goes past, the distance between viewpoints and people increases.
And the more the middle doesn't exist anymore.

JKR has got bored of dunking on OJ and is calling out deputy leader Rachel Millward's dumb take on the guidance.

J.K. Rowling
The Supreme Court has ruled that under UK law, trans people never had the rights people like you insisted they had. You misrepresented the law and cheered on the removal of women’s rights. Trans people have lost nothing except the mistaken belief you fostered.

Meanwhile nothing from Mothin on EHCR guidance for some reason. Wonder why?? Hasn't even shared anything from Millward for Polanski. Posting a lot on other topics though.

Meanwhile:

GLA considering investigation into Zack Polanski over houseboat council tax

Author, founder of Lumos and Beira's Place, surname rhymes with bowling, not growling.

I truly think we're not coming back from all this.
Not that women won't more and more claw their rights back, no, the law is clear now, and the ones deliberately misinforming are shown up.
I mean what I see as an irreparable break in trust between citizens, in this case women by and large, and institutions that profess to follow the law, best practices, science and common sense.
Talking NHS, schools, academia, media (looking at you, BBC), politicians (especially on the left).
Reality bites, but the hangover from 15 years of institutional capture seems impossible to shift.
The verdict on the Tavistock, the Cass Report, the SC ruling, these all should have totally rebooted and reset institutions. Instead it meant they bunkered down.
Women have won with every subsequent decision, yet institutions refuse to fess up, to take their heads out of the sand.
The nearest thing to a civil war we in the West will ever experience.

I hope you are wrong, but we will see.

What I think is some form of sexism is inevitable - the biological differences between men and women exist and lead inevitably to problems and biases. We need constant vigilance, but it can't be done by one sex, only together can we solve the issues we face.

We are not going to get to some kind of utopia. However I do think we can restore sanity to some institutions. Others less so. Like how can academia be changed?

One thing is certain a bunch of random women and a few sensible guys have taken on the biggest corporations, the NHS, the BBC, the universities, the trade unions, and most political parties in the UK.

And they WON! Against overwhelming odds. So while I think the fight ahead is huge I don't think it is impossible.

Moreover the fact is the opposition we face is divided - for instance many supporters of genderism were only going along because it was fashionable. They don't actually care that much about it. They are more focused on other causes like Gaza now.

Lets see where we are in 5 years.

I'm probably more minded like you, to be cautiously optimistic.
Let me phrase it another way, we've had various scandals covered by docu-dramas.
Most recently the Post Office/Horizon one, and water pollution.
C4 has been forthright in slamming these institutional failures in their brilliant exposes.
Can we really ever see them covering Tavistock as a scandal, and the ongoing dissonance with reality of the likes of the NHS and schools, and so much blowback to Cass and the SC ruling?

That will probably take a generational shift of about 20 years if ever.

It is not impossible though. Remember gen Alpha seem sceptical about gender stuff.

Green party in Newcastle to ally with the Lib Dems.

Jamie Driscoll was a big beast in the initial formation of Your Party but jumped ship late last year

So Jamie Driscoll's political journey is now Lab to Indy to localist party to pre Your Party ex-MOU Director to a Green propping up a Lib Dem administration.

He'll be Reform next
