He always goes the extra mile. I thought it was going to be like when Stephen Fry said they were good friends and JKR thought otherwise. I think JKR is a very good judge of character and knows who to trust and who her real friends are, unlike the more showbiz types.

Didn't he claim a close friendship with (I think) Suzanne Moore and it turned out the DMs were the text equivalent of this.
I can see why he went to the trouble of downloading his Twitter history before deactivating his account, keeping the receipts from when he used to interact with non-loons.
