@FlirtsWithRhinos better?

(You looked so cute as a 🐥)

I did make a cute duckling.... but I AM DUMPLING!

Hedgehogforshort · 29/03/2026 23:10

As an aside Ray Blanchard made reference to the Ugly duckling throughout his papers on the phenomena of transvestism and transexuals, and later referred to that phrase in a tweet 22/08/25

I heard him referring to it in a podcast interview by Julie Bindle. It was in reference to how the press reported on the Cinderella/ugly duckling transformation reported in the press, which promoted the idea of innate femininity and failed to recognise the paraphiliac nature of transvestism.

I wondered if UD user name was related to something she picked up on, re this.

Hedgehogforshort · 29/03/2026 23:13

Unless it is Ray, 😂

are they though? If they have a mix of traits - for me the whole argument started because of the mis gendering - I think it should be respected that CS has decided to carry on with recognising herself as a women - where does it say CS knew she was a man from puberty? (To me it would be like finding out your adopted and then having to deny your adoptive parents are your parents)

I’m uncomfortable with all the claims here about knowing what CS labia looks like!!! That it’s a malformed scrotam - how can we know that???

what’s wrong in my eyes is that they were allowed to compete with raised testosterone levels

"misgendering"?

You mean correct-sexing? Why are you trying to gaslight women to ignore our lived experienced as the oppressed sex class and mis-sex a male and call him one of ours, to cosplay with him?

Would you demand African Americans call Rachel Dolezal an African American? Why is the female sex the only oppressed group who is made to feel guilty for not acquiescing to their coloniser?

We women own men SHIT. We don't owe a cheating male who stole the hopes, dreams, hard work and awards off women ANYTHING. We owe him nothing at all. And it's time handmaids stopped trying to guilt women into pandering to males. He is a male. A man. And like hell will I ever be gaslit to pander to a male who appropriates our oppression. You mis-sex him if you want, but I and 99% of us won't.

ThatBlackCat · 30/03/2026 04:04

@Uglydumpling I forgot to address the puberty question. He KNEW when he didn't menstruate. He knew then. You don't get to his age, not have a period, and not find out why. Be real. He more than likely ejaculated instead of menstruated and knew then.

Where has he said that?

ThatBlackCat · 30/03/2026 04:20

Uglydumpling · 29/03/2026 19:13

That’s me last - but without the brain washing

I can see why she wants to stay with what she thought she was and it doesn’t affect me in a negative way as long as she doesn’t compete in female category

also don’t think you are meanies - I think you feel threatened and panicky and therefore want everyone to agree with you and mis gender CS

Edited

No, you want everyone to agree with you and mis-sex this man too. Not gonna happen. If he didn't cheat women out of their hard work and medals and smirk and laugh while doing so I might be in a better frame of mind, but he has disrespected us so much. You don't get respect if you don't give it.

ThatBlackCat · 30/03/2026 04:26

Uglydumpling · 29/03/2026 19:40

This is nothing to with trans..

You want us to be gaslit to mis-sex a male who calls himself a woman, because you have 'Suicidal Empathy' (as the term is called). That's Gender Ideology. Trans or no trans, it's still Gender Ideology that requires the gaslighting of the oppressed sex to appease the oppressor sex.

ThatBlackCat · 30/03/2026 04:37

Uglydumpling · 29/03/2026 20:34

You can be tired and aghast and still be sympathetic to CS position - I’m also outraged at the fact that CS was allowed to compete with women

you must know the general view on Mumsnet then

Why should we be sympathetic to a man who cheated women out of medals? He doesn't deserve sympathy, he deserves scorn and being held to account. He hasn't earned any respect at all. He has abused women, so to hell with any sympathy. He needs to have sympathy for women first!!! Until then he can get - .

I personally would happily don a cockroach outfit, deny my true beetle, and claim to be a cockroach if there was a couple of million pounds on the table to encourage me, so I understand why CS would continue to lie. I just don't see why we should all collude in the lie with him. I believe myself to be a cockroach just as much as he believes himself to be a woman.

@Boiledbeetle this has shattered my illusions. Your beetleness is such a matter of integrity and to know you’d roach yourself for mere money. Min dieu!

Forgive me! but a beetle needs a decent retirement pot!

If it helps I'd only do it for vast sums of money. £10,000 no chance I'm roaching myself. £1000000 however and I'll be a cockroach, a worm... Hell I'd even claim to be a man for that amount.

GlovedhandsCecilia · 29/03/2026 12:44

The comment saying that the vast majority of mumsent users and users of this very forum are white? Thats factual. Mumsnet knows it's a very white site. It's just uncomfortable to have there in in a thread making up lies about a Black person.

Are you aware of how racist you are coming across? When you reduce every issue to 'race' then you will inevitably be racist. 'Black' and 'white' are skin colours - not indicators of personality or identity. Nigerian born Chimimanda Ngozi Adiche said she "didn't know she was 'black' until she went to the United States".

Caster Semenya has a DSD which led to male puberty. Caster Semenya has XY chromosomes and is therefore male...and since puberty has been effectively. 'living as' a male person. Nothing to do with race or skin colour.

DrBlackbird · 30/03/2026 09:34

also don’t think you are meanies - I think you feel threatened and panicky and therefore want everyone to agree with you and mis gender CS

Ah, I missed this post. A rather dismissive and patronising response conveniently deflecting from giving a considered response to having facts pointed out. I am upset that men have stopped women from winning medals, places on the podium and sponsorships. Not threatened by CS, nor ‘panicky’.

DrBlackbird · 30/03/2026 09:44

The IAAF says CS has a DSD.

The IAAF says its DSD Regulations, apply to legally female or intersex athletes who have:

  • XY sex chromosomes
  • Testes instead of ovaries
  • A blood testosterone level "in the male range"
  • Androgen-sensitive.

^^
that describes men

Castor Semenya, the other two runners on the women's 800m podium at Rio 2016 – silver medallist Francine Niyonsaba of Burundi and bronze medallist Margaret Wambui of Kenya all have this DSD

At least Margaret Wambui is honest when protesting against the eligibility rules by saying: "This was my career, this is my talent; this was feeding me. This was how I was earning my upkeep and suddenly it has been blocked… Let them think of it like if it was their sister in this situation, and she’s the sole bread winner of the family, would they still take that decision

Always the kindness and empathy flows to men, never to women negatively affected. But if @Uglydumpling stuck around and read the FWR threads with an open mind, she might come to feel more empathy for women.

DrBlackbird · 30/03/2026 09:47

Here are the three males with DSD taking all three podium places, medals and money from women.

Poor Semenya

Having some understanding of the pressures on sportspeople with DSDs is not the same as condoning their behaviour, and I have no difficulty in acknowledging that for a young person from a poor background, the temptation to ignore any um.....'little anomalies' and go along with the narrative of being a gifted female is great, e.g. DrBlackbird's quote from Margaret Wambui, and I found this about Semenya when he was 18 and had won his first major championship

31 Aug 2009
The family of 800m track world champion Caster Semenya will soon be receiving a new house.
Making the announcement on Saturday, Limpopo MEC for Local Government and Housing Ntate Soviet Lekganyane said this is done in recognition of her historic win at the recent World Athletic Championship in the context of August being Women's Month.
"The people of Limpopo are very proud of Caster Semenya's achievements. As we congratulate and celebrate with her, our mandate as a department dictates that we must ensure that she and her family are properly housed.
"Hence our decision to support Bitline Developers in building them a home. We hope Semenya will continue to shine and inspire other young women to greatness," Lekganyane said. – BuaNews
Caster's family to get new house - Market News, News

Sure, the 18-yeasr-old Semenya should have said 'I won that women's race because I'm faster than them because I'm actually male, so please don't give my family that lovely new house, it wouldn't be fair...'

I can understand why they go along with the narrative, while 100% believing it's deceitful and wrong, and deprives women athletes of their due.

I don't know if Dumpling is coming back to contradict everything that's put before her, I think we've made all the points we could possibly make, and I'm not going to continue stating the obvious, so I'm outta here, fellow-realistsSmile

I reserve a certain amount of sympathy for poverty stricken teens like Semenya and Wambui both were when they first came to international prominence. Both were no longer minors, but that doesn't mean having the maturity to understand and give informed consent to what they were getting into. The adults around them no doubt saw the pound signs.

But Caster has earned shitloads of money now, and has options. Being this much of a dick in 2026, whilst aged 35 and rich, is a choice. Google wasn't forthcoming about Margaret, but I find it hard to believe no coaching jobs are available.

JellySaurus · 30/03/2026 10:51

UglyDumpling seems to recognise that CS is a man, and should not be competing as a woman, but at the same time considers us nasty for doing so. Why is it correct to recognise a man’s sex but not to acknowledge it? Why are we expected to continue pretending that CS is a woman by using feminine pronouns for him? Because it’s kind to him? How is perpetuating a harmful lie ‘kind’?

Pronouns Are Rohypnol
This is why accurate language important. This is why accurate language is a human right. This is why being made to use wrong-sex pronouns is coercive control.

puffyisgood · 30/03/2026 10:59

Wambui's story is rather poignant. Track and field is very much one of those sports where you can in practice only really make proper money from if you are a repeat major medallist at the biggest championships. Wambui was obviously led to believe, from quite a young age, that this was a possibility for him or her. Being from a developing country makes the stakes even higher.

Getting the rules straight now, once and forever, will hopefully mean that future Wambui's won't be led down the garden path with promises of athletics riches. The loophole that still exists into the world of professional women's soccer needs to be closed too.

Back to the point about being "repeat major medallist at the biggest championships", in the UK we know Lynsey Sharp better, but without the DSD runners, the Canadian Melissa bishop would have one WC silver, one WC gold, and one olympic gold, which would certainly qualify. As things stand, she has the one silver...

Binus · 30/03/2026 11:13

Wambui was unfortunate with timing too. The window was closing. Caster got a few good years in first, and a certain degree of notoriety probably helped with advertising opportunities.

But yeah, this is why there needs to be a system that prevents this from happening. Adolescents trying to escape grinding poverty can hardly be expected to take a moral stand.

All that does is explain his personal motivation it does not excuse his behaviour. As @Poppiesmocking highlights, what about the women who were displaced by Margaret’s inclusion and who statistically have access to a much smaller pool of available funds in sport that men? What about their ability to earn money to help support their families.

Destroying language for females by including males is violence against women. If women cannot be identified then they cannot be protected.

You cannot demand kindness from someone with less power than you. Men cannot demand kindness from women - what they are demanding is submission.

And this is why lying is harmful. It harms both those who lie about themselves, and the people around them - generally women and children - who have the lies inflicted upon them.
