International Olympic Committee announcement today! Will it be regarding female sports?

Helleofabore · 26/03/2026 12:41

The IOC is making an announcement today. Here is the Youtube link for the live stream.

15.15 UK time. Let's hope it is the speculated announcement that they have decided to exclude any male person who has undergone androgenisation at puberty.

I'm sure the policy has to trickle down to lower levels.
Lots of sports bodies have gone actual females only in women's categories. The IOC really couldn't do much else.

Zero point in countries supporting males who won't be able to compete.

Its very common for national governing bodies to derogate from the international governing body for domestic competition - this happens all the time for many reasons - not just the trans issue. At the end of the day the vast majority of athletes only compete domestically.

An example is USA Cycling which has derogated from the UCI ban on males competing in female categories and permits it for domestic competition. Obviously those men will never be permitted to compete in any UCI-sanctioned race, but then again if they were good enough to compete at the UCI level, they probably wouldn't be doing what they are doing...

Closer to home, British Cycling does not enforce a lot of UCI rules (like tyre sizes and handlebar widths) for domestic racing as it reduces accessibility. They do enforce the ban on males in women's races at all levels of competition though.

I would love a few journalists to start asking questions about this.

What do you say to the women you exclude, when you include men?

A good question.

The Australian journalist actually asked about what the IOC were going to do about the women who had placed behind men who would no longer be eligible to compete. So she got close ...

This question was raised during oral arguments for the Supreme Court's ban on TIMs in women's sport a few months ago. redditors compared it to asking white people how they felt about having to share drinking fountains with black people.

I'm actually kind of fascinated to see how long reddit keeps clinging to their insistence that anyone who accepts that sex exists is a fascist. They're wildly out of step with the general public on this.

The irony is that most of reddit is so misogynistic. There's no group of actual women they'd defend anywhere near as rigorously as they defend TIMs.

Hydrodynamic was the word you were looking for 😀I think half an hour might be overstating it but it can take a good 10-15 minutes to put on a tech suit until you've got the hang of it. They are expensive, delicate, and eye-wateringly tight.

Thank you! The specialist knowledge here is always impressive :)

The paralympics is a great example.
Every rational person regards the concept of non disabled athletes wanting to participate in the paralympics as ridiculous and a silly argument that could never happen. And yet there's a long well documented history of non disabled athletes cheating by feigning disability to participate and win. Probably the biggest example is the Spanish basketball team in the 2000 Sydney Paralympics where none of the 12 team members were disabled in any way. They took gold of course. At one point the coach had to tell the team to dial it back a bit so the cheating wouldn't be so obvious. It was a massive scandal.
This is exactly the same as men wanting to cheat in women's sports to get the glory. It is exactly the same mentality. If I cheat I can win, who cares about the consequences on the other athletes who aren't cheating? I get what I want.
The swab tests they have to undergo anyway for doping testing, so if you have to give 2 swabs or 3 what's the difference. It's less invasive than blood tests, and blood tests have to be given when it's policy. That's part of high level competition.
One last thing. The whole reason high level athletes have to give swabs and blood tests for doping testing is because doping happens. Some people will do anything to win, or get what they want. Be it a gold medal, or to watch women undress. To deny this happens in humans is to ignore reality. There's decades of documented evidence of individuals, teams, and even nations cheating at Olympic level sports.
In today's society I'm amazed that there ISN'T a campaign for non disabled athletes to compete in the paralympics. It's no more ridiculous than the campaign for men to win at women's sports, and there no shortage of empty headed virtue signalling useful idiots cheering that on. Why should the paralympics be immune to the same vapid stupidity?
If you're an utterly useless male why not combine the two? Compete in the women's paralympics for your sport, because that's the only way men like that can achieve anything. If you're going to cheat, cheat in every single way you can all at the same time. You might even win a medal if you're lucky!

And of course there already is one - Valentino (Fabrizio) Petrilla.

Transgender athlete Valentina Petrillo shares photos before transition

The pictures show Valentina Petrillo, then called Fabrizio, with a receding hairline and a tight smile posing for the camera, often cladded in athletic gear.

A transgender category in the paralympics makes a lot of sense to me.

Some early race tech suits came with a set of gloves, as it was easy to put a nail through them whilst trying to ease them on.

I still have a pair of DS’s jammers from 12 years ago - they are incredibly tiny, it’s hard to think that he ever managed to get into them.

AccordingToWhom · 27/03/2026 20:24

These men fantasise about girls having their genitals examined far too much.

They're so fucking sick. But women try to get spaces away from them and they get accused of being "obsessed with genitals". It's just industry level DARVO and gaslighting. Thank God it's coming to an end.

I was just coming to post this about Kirsti Miller. He really is grim

https://x.com/kirstimiller30/status/2037464444478042570?s=46

This is the link. It is authentic. He posted :

12-year-old female athletes spreading their legs all over the world while getting their labia and pubic hair measured and their clitorises poked.

All this as a prerequisite to ride a bike or run around a track or swim a lap

No man has even been detected in one of these previously banned sex tests.

But women that have given birth have been banned and had their Olympic medals stripped, others have attempted suicide.

It seems completely sick and it seems to be full of misinformation. Yes, men have been detected by those tests. The Winter Olympics is a good place to start with Erik Schinegger. (that is quite a story)

I would like to know which female had given birth and been banned.

Either way, the first part of the tweet is vile. That is red flag territory.

Seriously. this is vile and it is completely flawed. DNA testing will give a huge amount of clarity. This all seems based on decades old testing methods.

How dare she say "their dreams have limits" - without the ban the dreams of every girl who wants to compete will stop at the point she meets a tif athlete.

Everyone's 'dreams have limits'. Dreams and reality are different things. Cosplaying ones personal fantasy does not turn that fantasy into real life.

Does she mean 'ability to achieve has limits'? That is also true for everyone.

Wtf its not the 1960s.
Any you know what we as the current generation owe it to the female athletes of the 1960s who did suffer degrading physical examinations to keep female sports and records female.

The author of that tweet needs to be looked at and computers checked.

He gets worse. Also why is he always talking specifically about 12 year old girls?

It was the Australian edition.

It also pointed out though, the fucking huge elephant in the room.

The 2032 Olympics is being held in Brisbane! I suspect the pressure now will be on the current federal government to reverse the changes that Julia Gillard was instrumental in making to the Anti-discrimination Act. Because after the debacle of Victoria and the Commonwealth Games embarrassment, the governments don’t want to have an issue with the running of the Olympics.

I am hoping this announcement will force this change (or probably better labelled as reversion back) to the ADA.

Good knowledge- hadn’t connected the dots on that

Arran2024 · 27/03/2026 22:40

Kirsti Miller took part in the Olympics as a man - modern pentathlon - and subsequently became trans and passionate about allowing trans women to compete in women's sport. Kirsti posts constantly on X about it and is forever quoting supposed research about how trans women have no advantages. This is a puff piece but gives background https://www.outsports.com/2020/11/30/21726498/kirsti-miller-transgender-athlete-soccer-australia/

Helleofabore · 27/03/2026 22:57

Other background on him is that he gets abusive when women point out that no over 45- 50 year old women are playing in teams with 20 something women and still playing season after season. The very fact he was playing in that team at that age was a significant indicator of his sex category.

Partly because female players above 45 ish are more prone to injury, also they are slower and may not bounce back from a tackle to continue playing the entire season. (I once saw stats for female player injury rate by age bracket and it is clear to me that 45 plus year old women are more likely to spend time out of the season with injury than the lower age brackets)

He has been abusive to women who are experts in sports and point out the contradictory statements he makes.

Caster Semenya’s not happy, particularly that the decision’s been made by a woman. What a surprise.

news.sky.com/video/share-13525242

biwr · 28/03/2026 09:17

seriously, why do they want to cheat their way to medals? Where’s the satisfaction in that?

lcakethereforeIam · 28/03/2026 09:29

Semenya's arguments are completely ass backwards. As to why he wants to cheat? Firstly, except perhaps if he wakes in the wee, small hours, he doesn't see that he's a cheat. Secondly, what do you think his life would have been if he hadn't been scouted by a crook? If he'd been a 'normal' man or if he'd actually been female. No-one would have heard of him. The money, attention and fame wouldn't have been there. In fact his DSD, all the controversy that generated, supercharged it. Just like Khelif. I couldn't name a single gold medal winning boxer, in either the male or female classes, other than him and Lin Yu-Ting. I don't think Vogue put any of them on their covers either.
