Sandie Peggie: what an incredible woman!

Had to share this interview with Sandie Peggie in today's Telegraph. What a woman!

All power to her appeal, and the thousands of women who are supporting it.

But what I don't get is why haven't the NHS got their act together? The law is clear, why aren't they protecting women?

Thank you for sharing this.

And yes, exactly.

Lovely article.

I’m amazed she shows so much compassion to Upton, given the way his histrionics have turned her life upside down. She seems to believe the NHS management failed him just as they failed her.

Lovely to see how close she is to her daughter too. Hope the appeal is far less onerous and she gets the ruling she deserves.

I will be interested to see how appeal judges treat the original ChatGPT Kemp judgment. Unprecedented levels of revision and lack of fact-checking in it. May as well line the budgie's cage with it.

I guess they won't want to throw their peer under the bus though, so any criticism will be tempered down.

Thanks for the link.

The contrast between SP and those Dr's etc who were cross examined during the tribunal is quite stark, and if there is a right side of history I know who's on it. 😁

good luck with the appeal SP. 👍

Thank you for sharing this @BeSpoonyTurtle .

That's a lovely article and the comments below are universally supportive and admiring of her courage.

SigourneyHoward · 08/03/2026 09:01

Did we know the appeal isn’t until next year (I may have missed that nugget) I was hoping it would be this year.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 08/03/2026 09:13

How brilliant to be at JKR’s bday bash! And surprise surprise, there were plenty of famous people there, too!

Mmmnotsure · 08/03/2026 09:17

What a strong woman. The article underlines the extent to which this has turned Sandie Peggie's life upside down and around. Nevertheless, she persisted.

Also, that class element again to all this - the small, vocal, privileged group forcing their ideology on everyone else and most people can't afford to stand up to it. Sandie and her family had to look up what 'bigot' meant.

CanISeeYourLicence · 08/03/2026 09:21

Great article- and the grace she displays is extraordinary.

heathspeedwell · 08/03/2026 09:59

Thank you for this lovely article. Her bravery is astonishing. I think all those decades of helping people in A&E have really made her formidably strong.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/03/2026 10:04

What a fantastic article. Thank you for the archive link.

Yes, I doubt her husband was starstruck just by GC people!

a good day so far! Sun is shining, birds are chirping and a great article to read!

I'd missed it too if so. "The appeal is set to take place early next year"... I wondered for a moment if that was a quote from the birthday bash, which was last year, in which case it would mean this year, but given we're in March already that seems to be clutching at straws. Ah well. It'll be worth waiting for (unless NHSF completely backs down, which will be its own joy).

DisappearingGirl · 08/03/2026 10:18

Yes brilliant article, brought a slight tear to my eye. They come across as a nice down-to-earth family.

INeedAPensieve · 08/03/2026 10:37

Thanks for sharing that was a really good article. It was good to read it on international women's day.

It's an uphill battle against our government in Scotland, it really is.

Brefugee · 08/03/2026 10:53

The really standout point from that article for me is the fact that Peggie says so clearly what so many of us have been saying: Upton was also let down by the hospital/NHS and should have been provided with somewhere to change.

And also that now the NHS has lost a doctor (well... not sure if that is good or bad, if he doesn't know how to tell someone's sex i'm not sure how some diagnostic issues would be solved) and an experienced nurse.

It must really sting to have a "friend" stand up in court and call you a homophobe. I hope that "friend" is really reflecting on what she has done.

The “friend” is rewarded by having an unflattering photo published in the Mail also as per another Sandie Peggie interview she has been ostracised by the other members of the “Benidorm” WhatsApp group.

Brefugee · 08/03/2026 11:02

gosh, harsh but fair.

1984Now · 08/03/2026 11:03

Reality and common sense are so discarded by polite society that it's all the more obvious and undeniable when you read her interview.
Put it this way, the MSM have done exposes on the Post Office/Horizon, contaminated blood products, the water companies/sewage dumping, Hillsborough, the Birmingham Six etc etc...but can you see them ever dissecting and exposing the scandals of trans ideology?
Nope, neither can I.

Christinapple · 08/03/2026 14:39

Wasn't she the one caught making sick racist jokes?

SternJoyousBeev2 · 08/03/2026 14:39
