I know what you mean, I am not overly optimistic about the police and I think he'll try and disappear again.
But he has now had his picture plastered all over the shop, nobody even knew what he looks like these days, now many, many people do. It'll be easier for journalists and photographers to keep tabs on him, and he probably hates that his picture has been widely shared and will probably keep on being shared even more.

Far, far too much to type out here, google his name + "Harry Miller" then his name + "gross misconduct". HM was very far from the only person to have complained of Watson's attentions, hence this arrest.

If GMP are the investigating Force, rather than nicking him on behalf of Wings' local Force then cautious optimism isn't out of the question. Sacking & prosecuting bent coppers is a priority for GMP's Chief Constable so I doubt that Watson's "identity" would help him as much with that Force as it appears to have done elsewhere.

A clear picture makes a HUGE difference.
