Just seen this article in the Herald Sun (based in Melbourne, VIC) but unfortunately I don't have an account so I'm trying to find out more.

I do love the way they've highlighted the front page headline! And there are a lot of comments which I would love to read but can't.

I find the Australian situation fascinating, given their laws in respect of trans are different from the UK's.

The whole story stinks, his original crime (not racially motivated!?), 20 years in 2009, open prison 2022 now free, current name unknown.

Perhaps he, and his fellow journalists, could also take a look closer to home. Men, violent men, in Australian women's prisons barely scratches the surface. If this journalist has daughters, this man could be sharing a toilet, changing room, women's hostel, with them right now. How could he be so blind?

Comments are overwhelmingly angry, incredulous and terrified that any male would be placed in a female prison.

Most of those commenting cannot believe that the government allows this to occur, and are calling out the Victorian government.

A few have commented that males should never be in any female spaces or sports.

A minority have insinuated that a male being in a female prison is irrelevant, and that the real issues are that a murderer is permitted to be housed in a low/minimun security prison, and he is given early release/without added time for the assault of a female prisoner.

The September 2007 killing was deemed not racially motivated, despite Rintoull spraying racist graffiti in a flat they shared with friends which read “Fk da n-as”.

How on earth was this not deeemd racially motivated?And why after this - clearly racist - unprovoked murder - was a move to a minimum security prison even approved.

That poor boy was 19 seeking refuge in another Country and this is what happened.

Jacinta Allen is possibly even a worse trans maiden than Nicola Sturgeon.

She was doing a press conference a few days ago still bleating the line that to challenge transing of children is to be an evil bigot who wishes harm on children. Even NS had the sense to shut up about transing children over a year ago.

Amazing how people who scour the world over for TERF related stories feel that it's not important to highlight what's happening in their own home country, yet they likely spend hours every day to find something to post here which is mtf trans-related. So much gets promoted about "protecting women" in these threads, but of course nothing ever gets promoted for any type of discussion or outrage when it comes to straight men enforcing femicide. Well I think we all know men in general truly are the biggest threat to women.

Re. That first article - Poor girl, she was only 21 and it sounds like she had nowhere to go and that’s why she was staying at this almost 40 year olds man’s house whom she was not romantically interested in.

It is scary how it’s usually known men as well. I watch true crime and I’m more surprised if it’s not the victims husband/boyfriend/ex who is guilty.

From watching true crime I’ve gathered the Australian criminal justice system gives out very pathetic sentences to killers and rapists. It’s probably even worse than the UK system in that respect.

(the teenaged acronym, childish caps etc.) is more than doing its bit to maintain that weather eye posters here always keep on other examples of appalling male behaviour besides gender ideology, in its reminder of the depths to which some sink.

This man committed a violent, crime (apparently non-sexual) against another man. In Scotland he'd also be eligible for the women's jail.
