Just seen this article in the Herald Sun (based in Melbourne, VIC) but unfortunately I don't have an account so I'm trying to find out more.

I do love the way they've highlighted the front page headline! And there are a lot of comments which I would love to read but can't.

I find the Australian situation fascinating, given their laws in respect of trans are different from the UK's.

I don't understand what @NumbersGuy is trying to prove. That men are dangerous to women? Duh! Do any of those articles say anything about the gender identities of the male murderers. I suspect not because it's irrelevant. Any of them though can tilt their heads, id as female and in many jurisdictions expect to be able to share spaces that are supposed to be solely for women. Just like the murderer who is now living freely in Australia.

Yes, lots of women are murdered by men.

It's one of the many reasons that women need protection and separation from men in certain circumstances.

My position is that should apply to all men.

Your position seems to be that that shouldn't apply to some men, but I don't think you've set out why.

Let me try and explain it slowly and simply to NumbersGuy.

Men are a threat to women. Men can be violent, aggressive and sexually abusive towards women. You will find lots of threads on this board discussing this.

Because men can be violent, aggressive and sexually abusive, society has historically put men and women in separate prisons.

A number of countries now, however, are putting male prisoners in female prisons. Because these men are criminals, they are even more likely than the average man to be violent, aggressive and sexually abusive towards women.

Predictably, once they are placed in a women's prison, these men have attacked and sexually assaulted female prisoners.

This is why the OP started this thread and similar threads. We oppose men being placed in prisons with women.

Maaaaaate. We all know it's men who are the problem. And it's mainly men who are attracted to women, because that's the large majority of men.

Trans women are men. Both legally under the UK Equality Act 2010 and in terms of science/facts.

If women don't notice or collate examples of trans identifying males committing crimes, then they get trans activitists happily claiming that trans males pose absolutely no threat to women.

If they do notice and collate such examples they get called obsessed, hateful, weirdo etc. and accused of ignoring the obviously larger number of crimes by non trans men.

So it's lose/lose really.

I dunno. I do get this, and there have been some threads where the derailment's lasted pages and pages, with the same old counter-arguments repeated again and again, and the original point lost entirely. I've probably been guilty of some of contributing to some of these...

But, there are a whole lot of threads where the attempted derailment ironically helps to make our train of thought (gotta love an extended metaphor!) even faster, stronger and clearer, acting as a comically unintended spotlight (metaphor collapsed 😔) on the issue at hand.

I honestly think many of Numbers' interventions are often quite helpful to our cause. Underthinker's (thoughtful 😃) post above (thank you for this, UnderThinker) reflects this.

Plenty of men who identify as women are heterosexual. In fact the largest number of males who 'transition' are AGP heterosexuals.

Women post here from countries other than the UK. Nobody needs to "scour the internet" for examples of such cases. They present themselves on a regular basis. And do you know why? The issue is men/male people. Regardless of their supposed 'gender identity' or sexual orientation they tend to be driven by their sexual urges or fetishistic paraphilias - presented with even the smallest opportunity.

That's why we see priests, politicians, businessmen, teachers, doctors, gay men, drag queens, trans identified men, all types of men committing sexual offences and crimes against women and children, as well as against other men.

Yes, thanks to the Herald Sun who are clearly not beholden to the ideology, despite, as @FeralWoman states, Victoria being the wokest state.

Does the Herald Sun have form for this approach, or is it a new topic to be covered rather than ignored as has seemed to be the case where its all been fairly unquestioning to date.

And to get to the point of the thread, this will peak a lot of Aussies. There is considerable fed-up-ness at the state of things in governance in Australia amongst quite a chunk of the population. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

It's just bloody awful that, in the meantime, vulnerable women suffer.

I'm so curious about the Aussie general public mood about this. From whet I'm sitting their institutions seem to be considerably more captured.

Tickle vs Giggle is egregious but I gather a) hasn't had that much Aussie news coverage and b) I can see that people might not think who can or can't join an app is particularly worrisome or affects them much (missing the underpinning points of principle and how that extends to other scenarios).

But this is surely pretty shattering stuff on par with Isla Bryson and might break through a bit more.

@TheHereticalOne I don’t think that many people are brave enough to speak out here because of our discrimination laws and new hate speech laws and things like that. Sit down, shut up and say that you like it seems to be the prevailing attitude of authorities here. I hadn’t seen anything about the payout apart from here. I’m not in Victoria so that’s probably why my local MSM haven’t covered it. I think also that a lot of people are simply unaware of how extreme the gender laws are here and probably assume that common sense is used.

I mean this person is a cold blooded murderer. Would they not think the women in jail are at risk from the violence - even if not sexual assault?

A lot of football thugs who bash each other up go home and bash the women at home too, so the fact the earlier victim is a male doesn’t say much.

You could say the same thing about the UK, it's only because of the campaigning by women's rights groups that the sunlight has been shone on this batshittery. Article's like this should help shine the light in Aus, with any luck it will help spark a pushback, if Victoria have already stopped sending males to female jails, then there's hope indeed that the damage can be undone.
