Sex crimes have special legal status in Ireland.

They are one of the few serious crimes which can be tried when the offending is 100% out of State.

Recognising that there are countries or cultures which do not recognise the criminal element of sexual acts is not thought policing.

It's thought policing when you assume that individual/groups of people from harsh countries are criminals themselves or that it's okay to penalize them based on that assumption. That's literally not how it works.
