🚨 Why have Northumbria Police @northumbriapol commissioned a survey 👇 targeted at 18-25 yr olds using highly contested ideological language, to inform them how to ‘engage’ with the @ForWomenScot Supreme Court ruling?

Just comply with the law!

Is there any point in complaining to the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner, Susan Dungworth?

Can't hurt. Does anyone know if she's a genderist or be-kinder?

RedToothBrush · 23/01/2026 17:27

Anyone over 25 is irrelevant. If the under 25 are unhappy we should ignore the law.

Fuck off.

The purpose of this study is manipulative bullshit.

RedToothBrush · 23/01/2026 17:28

And here we have gender idealogs demonstrating ageism.

n231 · 23/01/2026 17:29

Why only the very youngest people? Could it possibly be because exactly that segment of the population believes what the people in charge of this police force want people to believe?

There's a reason trans extremists target the young. They're lovely and idealistic and many without the life experiences that teaches you to be sceptical of untruths and fantasy.

RawBloomers · 23/01/2026 17:57

I had a look through. One thing that stood out (of many):
"How do you think changes to the law and protection for trans and non-binary people might affect the way the police do their job?"

What changes to the law?

Soontobe60 · 23/01/2026 18:09

I thoroughly enjoyed completing the survey. I identify as a 25 year old, who is vehemently opposed to gender ideology and made that very clear.

nicepotoftea · 23/01/2026 18:33

Am I missing something obvious? I genuinely can't understand why the SC ruling would be relevant to the police's engagement with people between the ages of 18 and 25 - and why, if it would be relevant to them it wouldn't be relevant to older people.

What do they think the SC ruling has changed?

nicepotoftea · 23/01/2026 18:39

The court concluded that the terms "man," "woman," and "sex" in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological sex, emphasizing that the definition of "woman" is limited to biological women and does not include trans women with a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC)

Since when was a SC judgment referred to as 'emphasizing'?.

lcakethereforeIam · 23/01/2026 18:56

You seem to be able to complete it more than once.

PassTheHanky · 23/01/2026 18:57

I too enjoyed completing the survey. I stated that I'm only 24 (honest guv) and they aren't the sort of answers their biased survey questions actually expected.

SigourneyHoward · 23/01/2026 19:17

Completed! Enjoyed that one...

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 23/01/2026 19:55

I completed the survey, it was completely bias and one sided, is that what pass for an academic survey nowadays. 🤯
I also nearly threw the PC across the room when I read Cisgender is considered a 'Trans' Status, it's bad enough they're trying to force the bloody awful word on us but it's also a 'trans' status. 🤮

CultureAndFisheriesTsarina · 23/01/2026 13:00

Anyone who identifies as 18 to 25 can fill it in😘It's already useless

I identify as 22. I’ll complete a survey later! 🤣🤣🤣

Perhaps more pertinently, the Supreme Court ruling does not relate to criminal law, it relates to equalities law. So it's hard to see why the police need to get involved at all.

The police have equality duties of their own. Plus there is a criminal offence within the equality act.

PluckyChancer · 23/01/2026 20:58

Well that was an interesting (!) survey. Apparently they’re only interested in the views of trans folk and if you need support because completing the survey has triggered you, they’re signposting you to Mermaids. Fuck me! 🤦🏻‍♀️

KnottyAuty · 24/01/2026 09:08

Somehow I feel that the results aren’t quite going to be as they expected… when asked about how the police should act I replied “without fear or favour”… and to think thats now controversial?! Sad times indeed

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 24/01/2026 09:24

That was fun! I feel so much younger this morning - as young as 24, even!

lcakethereforeIam · 23/01/2026 18:56

Ah wonderful. I'm gender fluid so I'll complete it once for that then again for each of my gendermodes.

CultureAndFisheriesTsarina · 24/01/2026 10:12

FlirtsWithRhinos · 24/01/2026 09:24

Ah wonderful. I'm gender fluid so I'll complete it once for that then again for each of my gendermodes.

Musing on this, I wonder if a gender fluid attention seeker person can access the opinions of their boy mode when they are in girl mode and vice versa. Or do they have the same opinions in both modes? Or an infinite number of opinions for an infinite number of modes? Or maybe they don't know, because as soon as they switch modes the previous set of opinions are forgotten.
I feel that we need more research in this field.

Would you go with

Dear subject
Please note if you ID as a man then Bobby and his mates can and will strip search you in the cells

Survey bias in design which will prompt a biased answer

nicepotoftea · 24/01/2026 10:46

I wonder whether 'were approached by Northumbria Police to undertake this research' is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Have Northumbria Police just been roped in as a practical real world example to help undergraduates learn how to do research?

Is this just course work?
