I can't get over the idea that they didn't carefully consider how many parents would go nuts. Its not as if its unpredictable nor unfair given the safeguarding implications.

They just didn't care and wanted to do it and to hell with the reaction. Once it was done, it was done.

The old fashioned NO males caring for young children may actually have had reason. Decent men understood the concerns of their motives entering said environment enough to steer clear.

This is where I live and I had no idea. I have no idea why a school would invite an adult entertainer into their school to interact with the kids. What's next arts and crafts with Bonnie Blue? Its completely inappropriate.

The nursery worker who was also a drag queen is another matter and horrifying. Perhaps involvement in adult sex work work should be part of the disclosure process? It just seems to be a red flag for serious boundary issues. It must be a nightmare for parents to put their kids into what should be safe childcare these days.

From memory she was involved bring a male drag queen who also had a "child friendly" persona into a Primary(?) School as part of a pro-LGBT event.

And the male was given pictures of children which were uploaded onto his business website alongside his own sexual images in clear breach of the schools data protection obligation and safeguarding as he was in some of the pictures so could not have taken them.
Parents and other objectors were blamed for objecting images of children on the business page and basically labled as transphobic for pointing out the safeguarding problem with the school which allowed him to obtain the childrens images.
If I remember correctly the school did not try and/or were not able to have the images removed.

Truly awful...the children and parents were so badly let down by Mhairi Black and the participating school. M.B., the teachers, and head of the school, should all be ashamed of themselves and have action taken against them. The children especially were put at risk by having their photos displayed on the drag queen's business website (alongside his own sexual images). Disgusting behaviour all round.

Can't comment on someone I don't know, and you deliberately are not very specific. The general facts remain.

Men are proportionally higher risk to children than women.
Men who actively seek out roles with children are statistically higher risk to them than men who don't.
The 2 men mainly discussed in this thread have red flags galore like sex industry, single, childless.

A minority of men do continue caring for children without any ulterior motives, but they never escape the cloud of suspicion. After all, not all men, and all that.

I hope when he and others like him are the people to provide care for your child that you decline.

I just don’t believe that anyone should be excluded from a role purely on the grounds of their sex except where narrow exceptions and exemptions are permitted in law.

Get some self respect, your low standards are not shared by everyone. A name that might be 'hilarious' in a 'trans' nightclub, amongst adults, is inappropriate for a children's event, and a man bearing that name shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children as his subsequent arrest proves.

You have to wonder what would have actually been cause for that nursery not employing someone on safeguarding grounds given they didn't seem to be bothered by the walking red flag he was?

If he'd had the drag name 'Pedo File' would they still have enthusiastically sacrificed children employed him?

This isnt about every single male in teaching it is about the risk that many men are and how do we safeguard doe that.

It’s amazing how much of a controversial statement this is. I personally wouldn’t allow a man who wasn’t related to my child to change their nappy. Im aware nurseries have had female predatory staff but it’s such a small minority when compared to male nursery staff. It’s just not appropriate for men to work with children when so many of them are peadophiles.

Same. If a man wants to work with children who are too young to speak and that work involves intimate touching when parents aren't present then my spidey senses go off.
