Glinner Bullseye comment on X

Always trying to explain Glinner to DH, today he showed me on X JD Vance defending murder of the woman by ICE. Glinner had replied something like 'bullseye', as in agreement. I tried to comprehend with "satire?" but he said no he's on Liz truss show these days. I said well he's always been about protecting women and children, he's not suddenly supporting femicide, but the post convinced DH otherwise. Any insights? I'm not on social media

Glinner (and KJK) have always been nothing more than grifters.

If he wants money he can always go and get a job like any other person.

No, I now believe that men who live as women deserve the right to that freedom and should be seen as our allies and partners in the much broader fight against the destruction of women’s rights unless they demonstrate otherwise by their behaviour. I believe that people who choose to live as non binary should be respected for that choice.

I know a lot of people on this thread disagree. And I understand why. I also held a GC opinion for a few years.

But I became aware that much of the discussion online on these issues around AFAB/AMAB and sex based rights was being funded directly by the Kremlin and by fascist actors in the US, and is part of a much bigger global process designed to destabilise and splinter female power, to break community solidarity and to reverse our existing rights.

I have watched how (former) friends who were once very left wing have been deeply radicalised through this issue and become tools of the right - online and and in real life

I realised that my attitudes towards trans women were hardening too, and that I too was being manipulated. I realised I had started dehumanising individuals in the way I was considering their rights and experiences.

i decided to step back and review my perspective about how I wanted people to live freely, in comfort and without restriction unless they show themselves an aggressor to women

i changed my views

there’s more nuance than have space for here eg I still believe it is right that medical records should include assignation at birth, but broadly on a socio political level I have shifted

i am only sharing this here for reference for others, not to get into a discussion about it. I have spent many years considering this stuff

So you would have no problem with my brother-in-law using the women's changing room? Because he has never been accused, let alone convicted, of any sexual crime or bad behaviour?

I'd also hazard that it's difficult to say that your brother-in-law isn't living as a woman, given that it's pretty much impossible to pin down what that means.

Living in the lifestyle he’s become accustomed to? Supported by the contributions of women?

lifelong US conservative and lesbian I notice that people on the left have a simplistic view of humanity, dividing the world into the good and the bad. People are complex.
Glinner is great about trans and I personally don't like him. So what. Birdie Rose is such a strong woman and wonderful artist and she's against immigration, likes Tommy Robinson So what. You can agree to disagree and respect one another.
Being liberal-left does not make you a 'good' person and right-conservatives 'bad.' It's childish.

Now, I was a lawyer. In the US it's a federal offense to interfere with Federal law enforcement officers carrying out their duties. ICE posted this on X too. You don't follow ICE officers all day in your car and box them in. Why? Because if you're boxed in in a tense situation you are vulnerable. The Minn police refused to help.
So now when the armed Fed agent tells you to get out of your car; you do it!
You don't refuse and drive, hitting the officer with your vehicle. That's manslaughter.
By the way, that Fed officer previously had been hit by a protestor's car and got 33 stitches. So he had every reason to shoot.
America isn't Britain, people want law and order. And we understand you need force to maintain it; sometimes deadly force.

When a car is so close why do they not just shoot the tyres out? Because it is less predictable? Are they trained to do shoot to kill/head shots rather than limbs?

"murder"? Woman drives car at official with gun and gets herself shot. Perfect example of FAFO

I've always wondered that. Albeit mostly on TV. Why isn't it the arm, leg, tyre.

Shoot the tyres out when it is literally almost on top of you? Dream on.

They’re trained not to move in front of a moving car and not to use deadly force in this kind of situation.

Abhannmor · 10/01/2026 11:24

Where is all this Dark Money from Evangelical Christians then? When Yaxley Lennon held his Unite the Kingdom match he got 100k people attending. But his prayer meeting event attracted three men and a dog. If KJK and Glinner have veered to the right I doubt Jesus has anything to do with it. Likewise I don't believe Yaxley Lennon has had a conversion experience on the road to Benidorm or wherever he lives.

Most Brits despise the Evangelical movement in the USA. I suppose that's why the TRAs keep waving the shroud , the old guilt by association trick. But it fails because there is simply no read across between British and Irish feminists and hellfire preachers in the America.

How can anyone who agrees with shooting a woman at point blank be an ally to women? There is no separation. He is no friend to you or any woman.

They're shooting men too and I believe they would have shot a man in the same situation. I don't accept this is about the sex of the victim

America isn't Britain, people want law and order. And we understand you need force to maintain it; sometimes deadly force.

America doesn't have more 'law and order' than the UK. Just many, many guns floating around, which means that people are often shot in chaotic circumstances.

Quite. The US homicide rate is roughly five times higher than that of the U.K. So much for law and order.

I've stated several times that I do not agree with this shooting - you are choosing to ignore that and opting to call me names which is childish and shows you are not capable of making a rational argument. You undermine yourself.

It's a country where nearly everyone has a gun.
That's the core issue and it's unlikely to change as the majority of Americans have been brought up to support gun ownership.

Knowing this, I do not understand why anyone living there would not follow an officer's instruction.

Even without guns I always follow a police officer's instruction if there is a speed control etc. I would also never argue with a police officer because you are in the wrong from the get go legally.

According to a recent survey 32% of US adults own a gun. Why say that nearly everyone in the US has a gun when you clearly have absolutely no idea about how many people own a gun and can't be bothered to do a 30 second Google search?

nicepotoftea · 10/01/2026 11:49

From the Times

Asked if the FBI should share data with Minnesota officials, Trump said on Friday: “Normally I would, but they’re crooked officials. I mean, Minneapolis and Minnesota, what a beautiful place. But it’s being destroyed, it’s got an incompetent governor fool. I mean, he’s a stupid person,” he added, referring Walz.

Not even a glimmer of pretence that he believes that there needs to be cross party confidence in institutions.

You accuse me of having a cult mindset for noting that the US is on the path to authoritarianism and for pointing out extremely concerning facts (i.e. making a rational argument) about the ICE deployment. I expect "Trump Derangement Syndrome" will be the next clever insult. And you constantly make excuses for what this particular officer has done, while insisting it would never have happened to you because you're a good citizen who follows orders.

If you think little of me, I'm quite pleased. I take it as a badge of honour.

There are an estimated 393 million guns in civilian hands in the USA which has a population of 340 million people. Many states do not require a gun licence, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

What's your point? People who own a gun tend to own lots of them. The majority of American adults don't own a single gun.

What survey are you basing your opinion on?
How many participants were surveyed?
What State?

How are law enforcement officers to know which people have a gun and which do not in any live situation? Answer: They don't so they proceed on the assumption the other person could be armed. If they don't do this they could end up dead themselves.
