New Conservative proposals for UK grooming gangs inquiry

IwantToRetire · 08/12/2025 20:31

"The Conservatives have said that the nationwide grooming gangs inquiry should be limited to two years and examine the ethnicity and religious background of offenders.

The establishment of a national inquiry has been dogged by rows about its scope and who should chair it, with a group of women quitting its victim liaison panel.

One of those survivors was with Tory leader Kemi Badenoch at her press conference on Monday.

A warning, this report contains disturbing details about sexual abuse."

@Ereshkigalangcleg if you say so, let’s just blame Labour for everything! shall we, it just make’s it easier to blame rather than take some accountability🙄

But Labour were in power from 1997 to 2010 🙄 when many of the offences were committed.

Bringemout · 09/12/2025 15:26

I don’t think it matters anymore really who didn’t do what. What matters is whether a through investigation takes place. Everyone failed here.

I want an investigation into failures in local councils, elected representatives and the police.

Absolutely agree. I’m merely refuting the false claim that Labour have nothing to account for.

Justchilling07 · 09/12/2025 16:20

You’re only refuting the false claim😂
@Ereshkigalangcleg
Where did l say Labour have nothing to account for?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/12/2025 16:23

You weren’t the only one to make the claim. But yes, it is a false one 🤷‍♀️

Justchilling07 · 09/12/2025 16:31

@Ereshkigalangcleg again where did l say this?
I know this is MN🙄but really!stop making things up🥱

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 09/12/2025 16:42

You have to admire Labour and its supporters.

Their party makes it into office and then…it’s nothing to do with Labour, even about longstanding scandals that did happen when they were last in power! 👏👏 🙄

What a bunch of appalling cowards and liars.

Ok, great, we can agree that Labour were at least equally to blame as the Tories then.

Indeed.

“If I say so”. I don’t need to, it’s perfectly well known that Labour were in power when a lot of the crimes were committed, and that many of the social workers and managers who turned a blind eye worked for Labour councils.

where has anyone said this? Please quote.
Oh dear, let’s start name calling, shall we😬
Cowards and liars! you despise Labour, sorry about that! maybe try and work on your resentment, it’s not good for you.

Stop making things up to fit your own narrative.
I haven’t said anywhere, that Labour are not accountable for anything, only that it’s pointless blaming one or the other.
You’ve made it very clear what your stance is, news flash, other people can have a different opinion… if that’s ok with you.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/12/2025 17:03

Mate, look at the post of yours I quoted.

Er, OK.

I’m sorry for having a view about our present useless, dishonest, cowardly government.

But do tell me in a completely impartial way why Starmer’s government is super-duper. 🙄

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/12/2025 17:08

Anyway, it’s tedious now. Labour are implicated in the cover up of the grooming gangs as much if not more than the Tories so there’s no point complaining that they are being criticised, as you did. I’m not a Tory so no need for concern about my “agenda” 🙄 but i won’t be engaging further, I’ve more than made my point.

Justchilling07 · 09/12/2025 17:13

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame oh, you really need to work on your ‘self control’ there’s really no need to get so worked up!I’ve never said they’re 'super dupa’ Do get a grip😬

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame you were calling people who have a different opinion to yours, cowards and liars, as said, do get a grip.

Niminy · 09/12/2025 17:44

People can change their minds, and see that they’ve done wrong in the past. More useful than raking over who didn’t do what is to look at what Badenoch is proposing. Of course there will be political points in it for her and the Tories; but is what she’s proposing better than the absolute shower that Labour have set up? If the answer is yes, then I think we should give Badenoch the credit for that.

Joeninety · 09/12/2025 17:47

TeenageSu1cideDontDoit · 09/12/2025 15:28

They had FOURTEEN fucking years to do something and did shite all. It's very easy to comment when you're not the ones in power.

But all the parties, both ? do that. As if any of them really care one way or the other.

Do you think having a coalition with reform, is a good idea? It’s desperate that’s what it is.
That is what the conservatives are considering, so you think the leader of the conservative party deserves credit! Credit for what?

I've no idea whether they will do that or whether they should. My point related to KB's proposal for the grooming gangs enquiry. I think that's more important party-political point scoring.

Justchilling07 · 09/12/2025 18:14

@Niminy Hmm interesting that you’re not saying to
@DenizenOfAisleOfShame@Ereshkigalangcleg
it’s pointless trying to party political point score to suit their own agenda.
You’ve got a bit of a short memory niminy, the Conservatives had 14 years, it’s very convenient now that they’re not in government, making such proposals.
