It's a pity that Labour weren't demanding they act. All those Labour councils looking the other way. Labour were supposed to be the opposition.

Did any of you watch either video.

Some of the women who have given up on the Government project are supporting her.

If they think it worthwhile I dont think our personal negativity towards either party should take precedence over helping them.

Also the interivew, KB's answers to why now not before shows you how if anything Government's are the last ones who will ever get anything done.

No government has acted correctly by these women and girls. Posters forget that when much of the historical abuse was going on Labour were in power.

'In 2002, when she was Labour MP for Keighley, Anne Cryer became the first public figure in Britain to talk out about allegations of "young Asian lads" grooming underage white girls in the West Yorkshire town. As a result, she was shunned by elements of her party'
It was under Labour councils it happened.
Being tribal on this issue is daft, no party took a lead.

The two things aren't mutually exclusive, but being in power for 16 years and then pointing the finger 18 months after you lose the election isn't exactly helping the girls you could have helped years ago is it.

If Social Services deny it is happening and the police never prosecuted and Labour MPs shut the story down, and there is nothing from the local press how can Westminster Government Act? They have no grounds to intervene.

Nah, they are still irredeemable. This scandal exploded under their watch, yet they were busy screaching about nothingburgers. And Kemy would advocate for burqas and locking the women at home, if she thought that it would buy her the votes of the right. Nothing coming from her is to be trusted.

It was both parties - Conservative, Labour, Conservative, from the late eighties onwards and it is still going on.

I think that was what l was trying to get at, both parties have made mistakes, it’s pointless blaming it on one.
I just hope, really really hope, reform don’t get in, in the future, just because people are fed up this and previous government, they want a change, reform are not our saviour!!!
Interesting that Kemi Badenoch, has said the conservatives wouldn’t rule out a coalition with reform in next general election!! That just says it all about the Conservatives!

I don’t think it matters anymore really who didn’t do what. What matters is whether a through investigation takes place. Everyone failed here.

I want an investigation into failures in local councils, elected representatives and the police.

I think if Anne Cryer had been a Tory MP she wouldn't have been condemned for raising the alarm by fellow Tories. It is Labour that has form for wilful blindness in the face of evidence of wrongdoing when it involves a sacred caste of 'marginalised people'.
When Margaret Hodge was the leader of Islington Council. There was a cover up of child abuse in children's homes. The perpetrators where gay men but it became impossible to raise the alarm without being accused of homophobia. After the outcry, it was said 'lessons would be learnt' and yet here we are again.
