That response to the resignation later is brutal - can't believe SD read it out as a defence!

I can. She was the ENEMY so she had to be vanquished, and most people would have been. Only Sara Morrison isn't 'most people'. She's infinitely better than that and all those at the BFF and I hope she finds a new job and new home where she's valued as she deserves to be. I'm just sad because she's lost so much because of some individuals who are still absolutely certain that they're on the right side of history. There again, I expect the Spanish Inquisition and the Witchhunters felt the same way.

weegielass · 21/11/2025 15:32

right I dont know if I'll be back on these threads until the decision, take care all

MarieDeGournay · 21/11/2025 15:33

How long has SM been at the BFF I wonder?
I'm thinking that if she's there a while, it would mean that when she started working there when it was generally accepted that men were men, women were women, and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri..
So the issue is not SM's opinions, it's the BFF's- they did a 180 on the meaning of sex and gender .

Acknowledged by MD herself in Nov. 18 evidence:

NC even off sick she could have put an ooo
MD or I could as I was doing all the IT

Needing to set an ooo on behalf of a user is common enough that many email systems have this as an admin feature, so is not proof of access to the account.

moto748e · 21/11/2025 16:40

Just got round to chucking NW a few quid. This is such valuable work he is doing here.

ETA: chucking, not checking!

Fair enough and point well made. It still seems rather telling on MD's part that she didn't take responsibility for the e-mail admin tasks in more ways than one (ooo, employee account access by way of password) if she did all the IT!

Any insights @ProfessorBinturong ?

Sorry, only had 45 mins and it's a 12 min walk each way to the place I wanted to buy lunch from. In a choice of eat or type I will almost always choose eat.

The whole point of submissions being to get the judge to understand the key points, both side spoke slowly enough for the judge (and therefore Nick) to write almost verbatim notes. I only have a few asides to add. One of which was Naomi suffering the common rockstar problem of forgetting where she was and calling Belfast Brighton, to everyone's amusement.

You'll get the rest (mostly commentary on SD's points) this evening when my fingers have thawed. It's bitterly cold out there.

ProfessorFanOfBen · 21/11/2025 13:25

I am pretty sure we were told it was indeed sent to the very email address that SM did not have access to!

Have to say also, to my mind the most shocking part of the whole thing is that anyone knew anyone else's password!

MD made a very big deal of the fact that she didnt know it and had to generate a new password by going into the back end of the IT system even though she's very busy. And then had to do it again when it turned out that SM hadn't got the first one. "Because you have to make a new one each time". Which NC picked up and asked if that meant the October '"re-sending" of the password in SAR was therefore not only hidden but also useless because it had expired. MD rather floundered at that point but managed a huffy 'no' and not entirely convincing reply that it had expired by the time she did it for a second time (or third; are we counting this as many or as 2-is-2?) in November but would still have been valid in October.

EdithStourton · 21/11/2025 17:21

and told me that it's about her son.[....] If I remember
correctly, her child is a trans woman, so she is misgendering her here (I might
be wrong about that).

(From MC's email)

It enormously pisses me off when people busily virtue signal about a parent 'misgendering' their child, whose sodding nappies they changed for several years.

The parents who have to deal with genderwang this close to home do not need tossers ticking them off about the pronouns they use for their own child.

If it's generating a password via Microsoft 365, they do expire. It's obvious she hadn't considered that.

I imagine she emailed it by typing "Sara" in the To box and it came up with her work email address. But she should have been taking greater care because Sara was off sick.

Largesso · 21/11/2025 18:05

ProfessorFanOfBen · 21/11/2025 13:17

I don't think we know, although we can deduce at least that MD knew SM's gmail address. However, clearly MD would have emailed SM at her work address plenty of times before, so it seems plausible that that would have been the top or most automatic auto-complete; I don't find the initial mistake all that implausible - she could have done it by genuine mistake, and only then realised she could make use of it. It's the rest of the gaslighting that is shocking.

The point NC was making was not that it was sent to the gmail account but that MD INSTRUCTED Bethany to send it to gmail SK there is no possibility that it was accidental typing.

I am finding it difficult to understand. Has SM a TW child and also clearly has strong gender critical views. I know we don’t know this as part of this ET but that must make things very difficult at home for her. Or maybe having a TW child has reinforced her GC views? Maybe I have got this all wrong?

I’ve a few questions if I may.

  • why does the BFF not list its board of directors
  • where would one find their accounts
  • their website is woefully deficient on who their people are and what they do, is this normal or am I looking in the wrong place

It’s a charity so on NI charity website & companies house limited by guarantee

They usually at least discuss as a panel...

Yes I noticed it was odd too. I think she couldn’t get out of there quick enough and was worried questions from the ‘panel’ ie MM might expose bias. She could have discussed it and come back with questions but if he did make any ridikulus suggestions she’d have to manage the hell out of em.

I think she is also protecting herself from any further appearance of bias.

It is also interesting she mentioned M President. I’ve not seen that before in ETs and totally unnecessary to bring it up. Perhaps M Prez and ET have already had discussions about Proffship and EJ manner last week and keeping a keen eye over this as there is bound to be more to come TW Boyd and the judgment when it comes can’t land them in further do do.

Madam Prez will not want thia to go to appeal where that will rear its ugly head again.

20 years as co sec, it was in some form but not a company before then. But she’s been in that company for a very long time with no development or growth. You can tell.

Yes back when women were women only. But the funds needed applying for and rainbows got funding. And Mark Cousins is pro-trans so Michelle is of course pro trans.

There was a privacy order, I believe, at the beginning of the trial. There are obvious inferences to be drawn from that email. But I don't think her child's gender presentation is directly relevant and I think better left alone.

Having a gender questioning child was what kicked me at light speed from generally sex realist but basically meh, whatever, to rabidly GC.

SexRealistic · 21/11/2025 18:28

There is an element of tis case that’s been grinding my gears.

Sara went to the Equality Commission for support. No dice.

BFF went to Equality Commission for support and it was given. That was redacted in the bundle.

They are captured so I went to take a look. The EC follows Songs for Solidarity Belfast, who tried to silence women at LWS.

Oh and they were causally retweeting jokes about Naomi.

No one stands a chance do they. The actual Equality Commission who is support to advise balance of rights is mocking an ongoing legal case.

Anyone else see the problem?
