'Attack happened after armed gang in jumpsuits broke into Bristol defence factory intent on causing damage, jury hears.

Palestine Action activists hit a female police officer with a sledgehammer after bulldozing their way into a defence factory, a court has heard.

The gang, wearing jumpsuits and armed with whips, fireworks, an axe and a paintball gun, allegedly rammed an old prison van through the gate at Elbit Systems UK, Bristol, in August last year.

Woolwich Crown Court heard on Tuesday that Sgt Kate Evans suffered a fracture to her lumbar spine after she was beaten with a sledgehammer while she lay on the ground. Samuel Corner, 23, denies causing grievous bodily harm with intent.'

Jesus Christ. And people were confused about why they were proscribed.

AllPlayedOut · 18/11/2025 20:15

They are nothing but a bunch of anti-semitic thugs looking for a flimsy excuse to assault people and destroy things. As has been evident from the start.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 19/11/2025 06:32

That's brutal, you can see why they adore Hamas, I hope the police officer recovers from this sickening attack, and the shithead gets a million years in prison. 🤬

Shedmistress · 19/11/2025 06:36

It does make me wonder at which point are the police going to fucking deal with these brutes? They all seem to run rings round them.

Hoardasurass · 19/11/2025 09:23

These people are terrorists who support even worse terrorists (hamas) which is why they belong in jail, yet they have all these useful idiots claiming that it was wrong to proscribe them

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 19/11/2025 09:30

Man breaks woman's spine with a sledgehammer while she is lying on the ground.

Man actually and intentionally breaks a woman police officer's spine with a fucking sledgehammer while she is lying on the ground.

And people will line up to argue it was done in the name of righteousness and wasn't just a truly horrible man who saw an opportunity to have a good time, let loose and do the absolutely unthinkably awful to a woman who was there because she had to be, because her team was stuck that day with trying to manage him and his ilk on their jollies.

You do not take a fucking sledgehammer with you anywhere unless you intend to do something with it. You do not hit someone with a sledgehammer unless you really bloody intend to break them. There is no excuse. Absolutely bloody none.

AnnaMagnani · 19/11/2025 09:33

I noticed the Guardian disappeared it's article about the treatment of the activists in prison very quickly from it's front page after this news came out.

Apparently some of them have started food refusal and unsurprisingly as a result felt dizzy.

No mention of being armed with sledgehammers.

Unhappyitis · 19/11/2025 09:35

He hit a woman with a sledge hammer.

He needs locking away for life. He has done her some serious damage.

If he cares so much about palestine go effing live there you violent cretin!

Or they’ll excuse themselves with a flimsy ‘no true Scotsman’ type of argument.

Maybe people didn’t know about this and thought that PA was proscribed for vandalising planes or suchlike but now they do know.
This isn’t Greenham common or Ban the Bomb, its people using violence to support a known terrorist organisation. What they are doing isn’t helping the poor suffering people of Palestine one iota.

CassOle · 19/11/2025 10:26

I don't think they really care about the people of Palestine. If there were no war, it would be a different cause. The point isn't the cause itself. The point is the excuse to behave violently.

The accusation that a police woman was seriously injured with a sledge hammer has been known about for over a year:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0mnnje4wlro.amp

It's just that those protesting in favour of Palestine Action either don't believe it happened or don't care that it happened or actually agree with it happening.

This is why Palestine Action we're proscribed as a terrorist organisation and this is why people were correctly arrested for supporting them.

A screenshot of the police van seen on the Elbit Systems UK site. The van is a large white vehicle with small windows and a chevron pattern across the back. A figure wearing black with a white helmet can be seen in the lower right corner of the image h...

Thanks - the seriousness of the injury doesn’t really come across in that report though, of course at the time it may not have been known and obviously the length of time she had to be off work and that now she’s restricted in her duties couldn’t have been.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/11/2025 16:02

That’s horrific. I hope he gets a considerable prison sentence.

I’d hope so. Are there longer sentences for assaulting police/emergency services?

junipery · 19/11/2025 16:23

I’m not a supporter of PA but I hadn’t heard about that woman so thank you for posting.

I did see one of their mums posting a poem for her daughter on X, which did seem reminiscent of the Just Stop Oil types and horror that Lavinia might actually face consequences for her actions and go to prison.

Swiftasthewind · 19/11/2025 16:29

Do we know if the man is actually a member of Palestine Action for sure, or was he some random bloke allegedly acting in the interests of the organisation? It’s not beyond the right wing to infiltrate left wing organisations and undertake false flags to undermine the movement in the eyes of the public, we need to be clear on that before we point the finger at Palestine Action for this horrific attack.

Why don't you make it your business to find out?

Why ask on here?

Oh blimey. You again.

I'm sure Palestine Action, bless their innocent little socks, would have told us if they suspected anything like that.

We had some well-intentioned numpties running a stall locally a few months ago, 'We support Palestine Action'. Had I known about this at the time, I fear I would have had Words with them. As it was, I eye-rolled and considered the function of useful idiots in the political process.

I would think the police would be very keen to establish the motivation and allegiances of this man (together with the others with him wielding hammers, whips etc ) after having officers seriously injured, wouldn’t you?

Igmum · 19/11/2025 16:54

That poor woman. I hadn’t heard of this either so thanks for posting OP but what I also haven’t heard is PA dissociating themselves from this evil thug. I hope they give him a long sentence and any group that supports this kind of action should be proscribed.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/11/2025 17:02

Just having a look to see if there was any sign of ‘distancing’.
Not PA itself, but a group called ‘Defend our Juries’ was protesting against PA’s ban just yesterday - I’d never heard of them, are they being ‘useful idiots’ in this case?

You have to scroll quite a way down the first BBC article posted above to see any mention of P A. And the BBC isn’t biased??

Right wing people are out every day committing hate crimes and desecrating holy places of worship and it barely even gets a mention in our mainstream press, you can’t possibly be accusing the BBC of left wing bias?

Are you quite ok?

Which hate crime was commited yesterday by a right wing person? And what holy place was desecrated yesterday by a right wing person?

Surely most people accept a very slight left wing bias from the BBC?

I say this as a life long leftie!

Ah. It was sarcasm. Irony?
