Palestine Action activists hit a female police officer with a sledgehammer after bulldozing their way into a defence factory, a court has heard.

The gang, wearing jumpsuits and armed with whips, fireworks, an axe and a paintball gun, allegedly rammed an old prison van through the gate at Elbit Systems UK, Bristol, in August last year.

Woolwich Crown Court heard on Tuesday that Sgt Kate Evans suffered a fracture to her lumbar spine after she was beaten with a sledgehammer while she lay on the ground. Samuel Corner, 23, denies causing grievous bodily harm with intent.'

You do not take a fucking sledgehammer with you anywhere unless you intend to do something with it. You do not hit someone with a sledgehammer unless you really bloody intend to break them. There is no excuse. Absolutely bloody none.

I noticed the Guardian disappeared it's article about the treatment of the activists in prison very quickly from it's front page after this news came out.

Apparently some of them have started food refusal and unsurprisingly as a result felt dizzy.

No mention of being armed with sledgehammers.

He hit a woman with a sledge hammer.

He needs locking away for life. He has done her some serious damage.

Maybe people didn’t know about this and thought that PA was proscribed for vandalising planes or suchlike but now they do know.
This isn’t Greenham common or Ban the Bomb, its people using violence to support a known terrorist organisation. What they are doing isn’t helping the poor suffering people of Palestine one iota.

I don't think they really care about the people of Palestine. If there were no war, it would be a different cause. The point isn't the cause itself. The point is the excuse to behave violently.

It's just that those protesting in favour of Palestine Action either don't believe it happened or don't care that it happened or actually agree with it happening.

This is why Palestine Action we're proscribed as a terrorist organisation and this is why people were correctly arrested for supporting them.

Thanks - the seriousness of the injury doesn’t really come across in that report though, of course at the time it may not have been known and obviously the length of time she had to be off work and that now she’s restricted in her duties couldn’t have been.

I did see one of their mums posting a poem for her daughter on X, which did seem reminiscent of the Just Stop Oil types and horror that Lavinia might actually face consequences for her actions and go to prison.

Do we know if the man is actually a member of Palestine Action for sure, or was he some random bloke allegedly acting in the interests of the organisation? It’s not beyond the right wing to infiltrate left wing organisations and undertake false flags to undermine the movement in the eyes of the public, we need to be clear on that before we point the finger at Palestine Action for this horrific attack.

I'm sure Palestine Action, bless their innocent little socks, would have told us if they suspected anything like that.

We had some well-intentioned numpties running a stall locally a few months ago, 'We support Palestine Action'. Had I known about this at the time, I fear I would have had Words with them. As it was, I eye-rolled and considered the function of useful idiots in the political process.

I would think the police would be very keen to establish the motivation and allegiances of this man (together with the others with him wielding hammers, whips etc ) after having officers seriously injured, wouldn’t you?

That poor woman. I hadn’t heard of this either so thanks for posting OP but what I also haven’t heard is PA dissociating themselves from this evil thug. I hope they give him a long sentence and any group that supports this kind of action should be proscribed.
