Done

MrsOvertonsWindow · 31/10/2025 18:13

Really important. This govt needs shaming into upholding the law.

Greyskybluesky · 31/10/2025 18:17

I will do that and will also send her a map so she can find her way out of London and remember where her constituency is

Link has been posted on existing threads about this delay.

But no harm it attracting more attention.

Daleksatemyshed · 31/10/2025 18:22

Done, thanks for the link

bincrate · 31/10/2025 18:39

Do we know who the 50 back bench MPs signing the letter about businesses needing more time were?
Are they basing their concerns on that list we saw (and recognised was rubbish) in this thread?) https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womensrights/5411840-hundreds-of-firms-warn-new-guidance-on-single-sex-spaces-is-unworkable-and-would-cause-significant-economic-harm?page=9

Not wishing to derail but I assume if its your MP as one of those 50 and this was the list that swayed him/her you may want to point out how they are being manipulated?

Bluebootsgreenboots · 31/10/2025 19:43

And I will.
And I will be adding, how many more women will have to sit through tribunals explaining to the judiciary that their government funded employers were forcing them to take their clothes off in front of random men in order to be able to do their job and earn a living?

Gagagardener · 31/10/2025 20:04

Done. I live not far from Darlington. Told MP about attack on EHRC hq as well.

Good idea.

Done - although I doubt my MP will be any help
She didn't reply to my last email
Or the one before that

PachacutisBadAuntie · 31/10/2025 20:16

Thanks to all who have emailed so far. My update from Sex Matters late this afternoon said

'Nearly 1,000 people have already used our email tool in the first 24 hours, and today we have updated the letter to take recent news into account.

If you haven’t emailed yet, PLEASE DO IT THIS WEEKEND.'

So the more the better!

Mine's the same so I asked if a trans activist in their office might be binning my emails...

@Retiredfromthere that's a very good idea.

Who are the 50 please? Anyone know?

BeaTwix · 31/10/2025 20:24

Thanks for sharing . I've done it and will share on.

RogueFemale · 31/10/2025 20:51

Yes, I actually came on here to post the same thing. I've just emailed my MP, then forwarded the email to both Bridget Phillipson and Keir Starmer for good measure.

I composed my own email but it's fine to use the Sex Matters template if you don't have time. The most important thing is numbers and therefore pressure.

WaterThyme · 31/10/2025 21:07

Done. My MP is the one for Kirkcaldy. She’s new and active.

IwantToRetire · 31/10/2025 21:08

For anyone who hasn't seen it a recent Sex Matters posting that explains how straightforward it is to provide single sex services!

They seem to have kept it private, possibly through embarrassment:
'The letter to Kyle, signed by nearly 50 Labour backbenchers and seen by the Guardian...'.

I'm going to email Kyle to ask.
