Katie Lam and Pochin from Reform spouting stuff that makes me feel sick. Looking at all the glossy goons like Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi surrounding Trump. I am predicting that Erica Kirk will be the first woman President or perhaps more likely Vance’s Vice President. I’m not talking about women who would like to pay less tax, or Theresa May, but those who rise in extreme right wing circles.

I’m working my way extremely slowly through Andrea Dworkin’s ‘Right Wing Women’. Has anyone else read it? I don’t have any conclusions about this yet…

I can't speak for their hearts or insecurities, but Ivanka Trump has a degree in Economics and Erika Kirk has one in International Relations and Political Sciences. These are just the first two conservative women who popped into my head on the basis of this thread. My own degree was an arty humanities one, but I still got a First and I had to ensure that all of my coursework and exams were full of critical analysis-literally 3 years of research which I took seriously.

I can't imagine doing their degrees without having any critical thinking skills. It's so arrogant to think that people are just stupid if they don't agree with you. I listen to all kind of commentators and they generally always provide some kind of evidence for their thinking, left and right. I would never claim that left leaning people are thick because their views don't align with mine.

So you support that actions of ICE. I what way do you think the average American is benefitting? Do you agree with the arrests of the Koreans in Hyundai plant in Georgia? In what way has that helped the reindustrialisation of America? Do you support bombing fishing vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific? Is the world a better place now that International law no longer exists?

Jesus wept... Those poor girls.

These men see women as property. To them, "revenge" raping a rapist's sister is exactly like keying a neighbour's car because the neighbour slashed your tyres.

We should offer Pakistani women and girls asylum and deport all the men.

You are making a fundamental mistake if you think importing Pakistani or Afghan women is the solution. You will be importing women who impart the same values to a generation of their sons and daughters those men display.

Feminists being of a dominant sort of character often forget to look at subaltern status women and properly account for their role in transmitting social values and enforcing religious conformity.

Sorry, did you mean to quote me? I don't know much about ICE or the issues you mentioned and am not sure it's relevant to my post.

"Marry your rapist" is day ending Y stuff for lots of places in the world.

If you'd read the whole thread up to that post, you'd have seen reports of "revenge rapes" carried out against perps' sisters in Pakistan. These are "community punishments" set by "elders". What makes you think that these misogynists leave those ideas behind when they board the flight to Heathrow?

If these men come here and act like that and get the book thrown at them in our criminal courts, that's bad but bearable. If they come here and do that and it's covered up, that's utterly unacceptable, outrageous, and I'm saying "fuck no" to it. And if I'm saying "fuck no" with my STEM degree and trade union membership, so are a lot of people to the right of me.

How is that any different to the UK though? Do you think that sort of thing doesn’t happen here? It’s all well and good waving your finger at countries like Pakistan for their treatment of women, but we are no better.

Our crucial problem for the future is a very low birth rate. Soon the post WW2 bulge generation will have passed on and we are left with too small a work force. ( South Korea is showing us clearly the disiaster to come. ) Far from moaning about people wanting to escape their oppressive regimes in war torn Africa, Ukraine, Iraq, Afganistan etc etc we should be welcomng them as our saviours. They are cheap (we haven't had to pay for their hospital births, their education etc etc.) and by definition they are ambitious and want to improve their lives.

Immigration to offset low birth weight is just like a huge Ponzi scheme. Also we need skilled labour not people without basic education. But their cheapness in unskilled positions drives down wages.

from what I see amongst the predominantly white low socio economic status / poverty stricken communities around me, this attitude is what drives young men to parties like reform.

we should be investing in the right kind of education that might interest them and provide decent employment. This is what went when Blair pushed for more university access. I remember in my rural secondary school in the 90s that kids from farming backgrounds regularly chose certain GCSEs that were available such as horticulture. We had sheep and hens onsite - they were for one of the courses. A decade later it had all been scrapped in favour of IT. This country has a severe lack of skilled labour; plumbers, electricians and all sorts of other vocational skills that is what keeps everything ticking over.

and actually, reform are saying nowt about education. Labour is at least launching V levels to tackle this.

Here’s this totally legit poster advocating sex tourism on an AIBU thread, just like a real lefty woman would.

would be nice to get an explanation of where you’re coming from here swift

What goes on between two (or more) consenting adults is absolutely none of your business and I can’t believe this is the second thread I’m having to answer for this. Honestly it’s like living in a realm of puritans on here.

Well I’m definitely convinced

this totally tracks with your other recent posts on this board and paints a completely coherent picture of a principled lefty woman

yep 100% legit. Nothing to see here

Does it really need explaining to you that you would be playing your part in a system that exploits people poorer than you who sell sex for money?

Many/most are likely to be of ethnic minority origin, who you pat yourself on the back for speaking for on other threads.

Yep, I definitely mis-read the person behind these post's, my bad for being to willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but I doubt no longer. 👎

We are better. We don't have "marry your rapist" laws here. We have Rape Crisis and Women's Aid. I can go swimming. I am not under pressure to veil in public. We don't bury baby girls alive here.

I do think we need to stop being afraid to say this

objectively our way of life is better overall. I sure know where I’d prefer to live, that’s for damn sure

That really isn’t the smart comment you think it is. Plenty of women move from the West to places in the Middle East and thrive. Dubai is a very popular example and it is extremely safe from what I’ve been told.

"Casual fun with exotic lovelies" sounds like the plot of most Carry On films. Isn't that awful oiky working class culture?

  1. In Dubai, Westerners live in gated compounds. They go a long way towards safety. There's also a legal double-standard in that Westerners are exempt from some laws that apply to locals, so the Western experience of Dubai isn't comparable to the local experience.
  2. We were talking about Pakistan. Nice try at moving the goalposts.

So why don't you move to Pakistan? You seem to prefer brown and black men.

Edited

I have no reason to move to Pakistan personally. Though if I did I would have no qualms about it necessarily.

Unlike what you hear on the news, it’s actually quite safe for women, Forbes even did a piece on it for solo backpackers looking for somewhere a bit different.

There's a meme on American conservative fora that I'm sort of ashamed of finding funny, but here goes.

A Democrat woman accuses a Republican man of seeking to implement The Handmaid's Tale. The Republican man objects that he doesn't want any such thing.

The Republican man then becomes even more bemused as the Democrat woman, becoming visibly horny, describes in great detail how she will be degraded by high-status men in this sexist dystopia.

I don't know why I'm thinking of that now.

Greyskybluesky · 30/10/2025 13:08

Dubai

Backpacking in Pakistan

All viewed from a privileged, moneyed Western perspective. What a surprise.

It reads like a spam email. Why on earth would a woman apparently seeking advice on MN for where to go to find horny single men list her physical attributes?

ArabellaSaurus · 30/10/2025 13:11

Poverty Safari was a good read, and perhaps has some relevance to this thread.

I mean I can’t advocate strongly enough for taking what this poster says with a pinch of salt

In fact, you know the 150,000 tonnes of salt that typically comes into Ellesmere Port for winter gritting? That may be getting towards an appropriate amount of salt for pretty much every word this poster utters
