Watkin, who was born male, had used the name Ciara since childhood but had not undergone any medical treatment or surgery.

Okay, either I'm a total luddite or something isn't right... how did he get those boobs in the first picture, and can i have some?

Amazon probably.

IDontHateRainbows · 11/10/2025 08:58

Ever heard of moobs? Moobs plus push up bra'll do it ( yuk)

DeanElderberry · 11/10/2025 09:31

There was an image in the last few days of a bloke wearing a kind of plastic breastplate, like a backless, but definitely not frontless, t shirt.

Made of silicone, you can but them off etsy. It will be interesting to see what that search does to the ads I see for the next few weeks.

1/🧵 Is there any information on whether Ciara Watkin plans to appeal the bristling miscarriage of justice that effectively criminalises the sex lives of all trans people in England? Recorder Peter Makepeace KC‘s misogynistic remarks shocks me.

2/ Recorder Makepeace somehow thought it appropriate to say there were many other “convincing” images of Watkin and that the press deliberately chose photos where she wasn’t passing in order to mock the so-called victim. A male judge commenting on a woman’s appearance in open court is insane.

3/ And of course, the offensive, religious, patriarchal notion of “biological sex” has been reintroduced into criminal law by sheer authoritarianism. This is wrong and must be rectified.

4/ The evil deed of Hodge, Simler, Reed, et al have resulted in a then-18-year-old woman being jailed for 20 months simply for giving a blowjob. They must be held accountable.

5/ Recorder Makepeace is not just complicit in this injustice. He made it clear that he views trans identities and sexual orientations as forms of deception and indicators of repeat offending. Despite knowing how vulnerable the true victim is, he chose to punch down on her. A truly nasty judge.

6/ Following the Supreme Court’s decision, bigots are enjoying their mask-off moment. There’s no point pretending you can’t critique judges personally, only their judgments. The judges are already taking their masks off; you don’t need to strip them further, just point out that they have no mask.

7/ I should note that this is essentially a case of retroactive criminalisation caused by Brexit. Bigots are only able to pull this trick because the spillover effect of EU law into criminal law no longer exists.

8/ Trans people “by definition” must be imprisoned, and “by definition” cannot be changed by non-custodial sentences. This is what the judge had in mind: state-sanctioned conversion and torture.

So much gross bigotry, transphobia in this story, it's disgusting. I hate this country so much right now. This comment from the judge stuck out, not just for being transphobic but i would also argue homophobic as well, suggesting that a man can't be straight if he's attracted to a trans woman.

Unless it's ok for men to deceive and abuse women they can't have sex!

Only nasty people would think there was an issue with this!

One of the top comments in the reddit thread is revealing. It basically says: what’s to stop someone sleeping with a trans woman and then claiming they were never told to get them arrested. But that’s just similar to men talking about women calling in sexual assault because they’re spiteful. I mean anyone could accuse anyone of sexual assault so I don’t see why trans people are special in that regard. And if you’re worried about being accused of not revealing you’re trans it’d be easy to have evidence of a text etc

Another passable trans woman. It's true you can never tell!

😁😁😁

I actually feel a bit sorry for this one. I mean, he's gone to prison because he 'deceived' someone into letting him give them oral sex.

I mean come on now...the man that let Ciara give him a BJ is a big fibbing fibber and we all know it 😂 He KNEW it was a bloke, how could anyone believe for a second he was really deceived?!

The guilty verdict seems more than a little unfair in this specific instance.

Dark, drunk, inexperienced…

I’ll admit, it does seem a stretch though.

But why then go to this extreme and let the world know?

It may be the fear some straight men have even in 2025 as being perceived gay? And that fear turned to anger and a need for retribution?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2025 08:15

He told this guy he was “on his period” - why do these men do this?

There's no evidence that his victim was lying.

I wouldn't be surprised if his victim is a bit mentally slow, and more vulnerable to manipulation as a consequence, which would make this even worse if true.

And go back a few years and a few lbs, some 18 year olds can still look prepubescent - not starting shaving or only needing to once a fortnight, very clear skin etc….

The photos from today have been specifically chosen to not pass, I suspect the defendant didn’t shave to have stubble on purpose. The judge made it clear there were photos from the time where it wasn’t as obvious.

GiraffesAtThePark · 12/10/2025 19:33

I did find it difficult to believe he didn’t know he was with a man but like PP said the judge pointed out that the victim had been ridiculed online for not knowing he was a man but only because the most obvious pics had been chosen. I’ve seen others where a naive 18 year old could definitely think he was a woman. Plus being younger and meeting at night most likely with low lighting etc

CarefullyCuratedFurniture · 12/10/2025 20:50

Also, we don't blame victims. Even if we're all rolling our eyes and thinking it's pretty bloody obvious this one's a wrong un man, we don't blame victims. The suggestion upthread that he might have been vulnerable himself sounds spot on to me.

Cassandrazone · 13/10/2025 15:18

Or just maybe, despite the groupthink in evidence here, this is not a sexual assault at all but just another example of this country's prurience and inability to be honest about sex. If everyone is right and the complainant is a man, then the complainant's assertion that he "doesn't swing that way" is necessarily false, since he was clearly sexually attracted to a man. So if there is any deception here, it's the young man who was deceiving himself about his own sexuality.

Alternatively, of course, it maybe it's just not so clear whether the defendant was man or not, and the framing of all this as a sexual assault is just a self-evident absurdity that no reasonable human being would entertain for a moment. And the young man concerned needs to realize that you shouldn't expect to be treated as an adult and still claim the sort of protections our culture us es to protect children. But then, facts are never as much fun as another excuse for howls of synthetic outrage, are they?

Watkin lied about being on a period so he could deceive his victim into believing he's a woman and engaging in a sexual act.

GiraffesAtThePark · 13/10/2025 18:32

@Cassandrazone Did you read the link? The man was found guilty so I don’t know why you’re proposing different theories and then bemoaning people for not caring about facts when the facts are already known regarding whether it was sexual assault.

If he did knowingly have sexual contact with a man then it really makes no sense to then go to the police, have a trial and broadcast it. Imagine how embarrassing it’d be to walk into a police station and explain.
