... & Magpie regularly drains the hot chocolate bowser.

If you understand that, or you're just cool with it, come on in & bagsie a chair by the fire.

I would be setting fire to the onsie, ^. I’d give him the chance to take it off first, because I am a humanitarian.^
Woley, the Nobel Peace Prize folk got it all wrong, you woz robbed😂

If it's fleece it's going to shrivel into an evil-looking lump😱

And from Taz's description, a Guy made from it would be terrifying - 'a penny not to have to look at our Guy'😄

Thanks for the good wishes, and NotAtMyAge - we obviously have similar and lovely memories of quiet and fond farewells. We are lucky to have had those experiences, many don't for a variety of reasons. They are golden.

MarieDeGournay · 10/10/2025 12:29

Myrtle, sending you all the good wishes I can muster, and all the magical thinking I can do just in case that helps too!
You are really being 'put through the wringer' and I hope all those treatments and interventions start to have the desired effect and things start to improve soon.💙

Swashbuckled · 10/10/2025 12:47

Sending you good wishes @MyrtleLion. I am admiring your stoicism. You’ve been through an awful time with that bloody foot!

I am feeling pleased with myself because I completed three admin tasks. I’ve been putting these off for weeks. They were simple things, but I found I couldn’t face them. Shall Wak the hound later, but now putting that off for a bit too!

I’m loving the pictures.

Swashbuckled · 10/10/2025 12:48

I shall walk him, of course, not Wak him!

FuzzyPuffling · 10/10/2025 13:38

Holding Myrtle in my prayers and in my heart.

And Woley should get 'Humanitaran of the Year" award, unless someone else has already won bought this.

CautiousLurker01 · 10/10/2025 14:49

Just noticed the time and hope @MyrtleLion ’s op is gong smoothly!

CautiousLurker01 · 10/10/2025 14:51

🤦🏽‍♀️ OMG see Tan is off again. I foolishly responded before realising it is operating like an AMA with a single chairperson, rather than a general discussion thread between interested parties.

… am such a wombat…

Thanks for the warning, Lurkey. Having got sucked in twice to her 1000 post threads, I've better things to do this time. We won't change her mind and she won't change ours, so a waste of time.

SionnachRuadh · 10/10/2025 14:59

I've been on too many threads with Tan, and tried too often to get an answer to a straightforward question...

I don't have a problem having conversations with people I disagree with. I do have a problem with people who cherrypick half a sentence out of a long post and decide that's the thing they're going to respond to.

It's all very Nick Clegg circa 2010 "I'm going to reframe your question and answer the question you should have asked me that will allow me to get my talking points across"

I'm pretty easygoing, but my patience is not infinite.

I do love reading the PPs from those with more patience than us. I know it’s a public service effort on their part to redress the dogma and misinformation for peaking lurkers, so am grateful they are so bloody brilliant in their factual and often hysterical ripostes!

Thinking of Myrtle. 💙

I, too, have been to the hospital & my old lady, post-cancer-treatment boobs have been assessed & dealt with so that I now have the ability, at will, to assume the Tits of Power.

Don't mess with the Tits of Power.

I’ve been sucked in to Tan’s thread. Stupid me.

DeanElderberry · 10/10/2025 16:27

Once I saw who had started the thread I closed it, unread. I am amazed so many people have dived in. At least if you were playing chess with a pigeon there'd be pretty shading on the feathers and the occasional coo.

PastaAllaNorma · 10/10/2025 16:45

I've been offline a little bit, so just catching up. Heaps of love and recovery luck to Myrtle, sympathy to Marie for her friend and urgh about the onesie to Taz. Kudos for Tits Of Power to android!

I'm refusing to accept my holiday in lovely Italy is over so have spent all week making pesto and homemade pasta and all the nice happy foods.

I'm back, it was sad but I'm glad I spent that time with her, though I'm not sure how aware she was. They say hearing is the last sense to go, and anyway, it was good for me to be there reading to her, so at least one of us definitely benefitted.

I hope she could hear me because at one point she coughed a little and I told her that she should lay off the Woodbines, and I know she would have enjoyed that😄

Thank you for all your good wishes, it helped to be able to talk to you about it.

Oh @MarieDeGournay what a good friend you are.

I know it’s not the same but I was so glad to be with my mum in her final days and when she died. I said loads to her that I wanted to say even though I didn’t know if she could hear me.

Sending a hug. I hope she was aware of you and took comfort in your being there. She is lucky to have a friend like you.

Did you bring food goodies back from your holiday?

Actually it seems to have been my eyes, not my nipples, that were lasers...

Well I guess a day mostly spent accompanying DH to get some additional meds and have his eyes looked at (nothing too bad)
