These threads have mostly been used to follow the case that has taken place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, (and will continue on the 29th October), but were created to follow the fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case last week, and what is allegedly a conspiracy of TRAs to intimidate and harass a number of people, including Graham, with the alleged support of various police services.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Graham's account of the arrest here
You can support his Substack here
Or buy him a coffee here

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. At the time of posting it has reached 64% of its stretch target.
The FSU have managed to get the bail condition that @Glinner must not post on X removed, so he is now freely posting on there again.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court again on 29th October.
You can support Nick here (posted Friday 5th September):
"I am deeply grateful to everyone who has seen fit to bung me the cost of a coffee, a pint or even a bloody London pint since I found out I was able to come back today. If you think you can afford to make a small donation, there’s more info here:"

Oh, this is interesting:

"The civil restraint order (CRO) is a useful remedy for an individual to consider if they have been subjected to 2 or more unmeritorious claims or applications made against them by the same person and they relate to the same or similar matters. It is relatively quick to achieve, is granted for a period up to 2 years, preventing the subject of it from taking certain steps as specified in the order, without first obtaining leave of a designated judge. CROs do not require the intervention of the Attorney General."

I was going to say that surely these things are easy to disprove which would then make them look really bad. But actually, I'm assuming that half the time they're not that easy and they get away with it

When I was arrested it was because I was accused of using a particular lap top to send 2 emails.

I was in South America, the laptop was (when the first email was sent) was in the USA.

When the second one was sent I was still in South America, the laptop was on a flight that goes from LA to Sydney, this flight crosses the international date line so, sort of, doesn't exist.

When I met my solicitor, and this is before my interview, he said, "They say if you admit it you can get away with a caution".

They took my PC because "you could connect it to the laptop with a wire", obviously they were unaware of the internet.

I pointed out the email they showed me had an IP address, "What's an IP address?"

They asked which computers I had access to at my work place and threatened to take all of them to check. My employer was a college so you can imagine what impact that would have.

LW is Seen Poop, though isn't he?

I want to quote Tim Minchin here -
He has nothing interesting to say
So he writes about himself
But he doesn't want to seem self-obsessed
So he writes in third person

Oooo, is this what happened to Uncle Tony a while back? Maybe not, though - I seem to remember that a specific Justice just said he wanted everything to come to him, regardless of who was being targeted. I don't think there have been as many cases since (although he does seem to be ramping up again).

I'd not heard of this organisation

https://archive.ph/tII9L

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/09/18/university-of-leicester-rural-racism-countryside/

You'd think they'd be interested in Watson and his ilk, they seem to be frothing with hate.

Hmm, that’s interesting

the funding and existence of The Centre for Hate Studies does rather depend on us being surrounded by ‘hate’ doesn’t it?

I’m not saying that Britain is all hunky dory, but I am saying that they’re probably not motivated to say anything particularly positive about what it’s like to live here

What is going on in the UK? Helen Joyce, Harry Miller, and today the Daily Mail features an article by a journalist, Rebecca Tidy Harris, about her experience with Devon & Cornwall Police.
It's quite sinister.

That is insane and deeply deeply troubling. Even if the coppers themselves ‘look after their own’, where is the senior leadership who recognises this isn’t a good look for police and breaks the tenuous social contract between us and them?

The met in the 70s had to have police officers from I think Dorset come in and clean them up as they were too corrupt to do it themselves. Probably wouldn't be popular but maybe some police forces need that. Because there are some forces where there just seems to be a neverending pattern of the same behavior again and again. E.g. West Yorkshire's -from dismissal of Yorkshire Ripper victims as prostitutes and missing opportunities to stop him, to dismissing the victims of child grooming gangs as prostitutes and missing opportunities to stop their abusers... To missing opportunities to stop women being murdered by men they know to be violent.

It's the same with the GL case. I think obviously the central issue is that they seem to have this specific relationship with some of the people harassing Linehan and others which led to them effectively doing their bidding. But "captured" isn't the right word. It implies less agency than they had. There had to be something seriously at fault in the first place with at least some of the police force for this to happen. I don't think its even corruption as such. Maybe a deep loathing for women? But Linehan's not a woman.

I don't think we should "defund" the police or anything. And many police officers do a difficult job well. But there has to be a serious attempt to deal with the rot in some forces.

It really seems that the police attracts - enough - misogynistic men enticed by the power of the position to be highly problematic for women in general and for the men who seem to support us.

Wikipedia is my friend

A Norwich Pharmacal order is a court order for the disclosure of documents or information that is available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and Canada.[1][2] It is granted against a third party which has been mixed up in wrongdoing, forcing the disclosure of documents or information. By identifying individuals the documents and information sought are disclosed in order to assist the applicant for such an order in bringing legal proceedings against individuals who are believed to have wronged the applicant.

And yet so many threats are made on social media and never seemingly made subject to one…

Interesting article. The order is named after a company that sued HMRC (then called Customs and Excise) to reveal the name of an importer who had breached their patent.

But the Norwich it is named for is in New York!

Learn something new every day.

My understanding is that a Norwich Pharmacal Order is both unusual & expensive to obtain.

Reminds me of this case, where the Claimant tried to get HM Courts to reveal who had ordered a document from them, which turned up posted on the Farms by ‘notso jolly halliday’.

https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Hayden-v-Associated-Newspapers-judgment-accessible-011122.pdf

Judge Nicklin dismissed the claim.

I did like Judge Nicklin’s somewhat pithy comment at para 6in the judgment - For someone who complains about harassment, visiting the website on which this alleged harassment is posted is not altogether easy to understand.

Thank you. That was a very interesting read & highlights the lengths that Stephanie Hayden will go to pursuing those allegedly harassing him.

Chaosclassic · 20/09/2025 23:12

I saw Glinner was in court a few weeks back and there was a lot of coverage. Just been googling and searching for the outcome and everything is blank. It’s like the record just stops on 5th sept?

Is this right or is my internet broken. Is there some kind of NDA/ or when media can’t discuss (can’t remember the proper name sorry).

Thanks

Stephanie Hayden?! I have been out the loop with all this for a near decade. But an old timer. Is that Debbie of old?

They didn’t get through all the hearing - it was adjourned until October 29th.
