Graham Linehan arrested on arrival at Heathrow Part 4

These threads have mostly been used to follow the case that has taken place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, (and will continue on the 29th October), but were created to follow the fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case last week, and what is allegedly a conspiracy of TRAs to intimidate and harass a number of people, including Graham, with the alleged support of various police services.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. At the time of posting it has reached 64% of its stretch target.
The FSU have managed to get the bail condition that @Glinner must not post on X removed, so he is now freely posting on there again.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court again on 29th October.

I don't think he's confused, I think he's a bully who thinks he's righteous.

I think he means that it would be more ethical to murder people he disagrees with, than to leave them alive to say no / point out facts / remind him of reality etc.

What is going on in the UK? Helen Joyce, Harry Miller, and today the Daily Mail features an article by a journalist, Rebecca Tidy Harris, about her experience with Devon & Cornwall Police.
It's quite sinister.

LegalGengar’s bail conditions (Met Police, surprise, surprise) means he can’t publicise his crowd funder to raise funds to defend himself against everyone’s favourite litigant, Hayden.

So Glinner, Helen Joyce, Wings Over Scotland, Sarah Philimore etc have posted on TwiX about it and it’s leapt up to £24k.

Watson is going bananas over on BlueSky.

Having (briefly) worked for the police nothing would surprise me.

I saw the crowd funder the other day and it was only £15k at that point, so that's one hell of a jump.

How can you have a fair legal hearing if you cant get legal representation btw? So surely saying you can't advertise your legal crowd finder is actually illegal in its own right anyway?!

I have always been grateful for the support of women on here (I am a man).

The police passed their investigation to the CPS for a charging decision a few days ago. If I am charged with harassment or stalking, I hope I am cleared by any jury.

Have I got this right? A journalist reported about a police officer accused of harassment, and she in turn was arrested for her tweets reporting it?

it's the next bit that I don't get.

She was asked if she ever had a relationship with a police officer, and then whether she had ever had one with the actual police officer she was reporting on.

Is the implication that the complainant has said she's only reporting his harassment because she's jealous and scorned over a relationship they had?

I can't get my head around it.

Even if he did lie about them having a relationship and that she was acting out of jealous rage, she still hasn't done anything that could be interpreted in any way other than normal.

It appears SO corrupt, it's difficult to believe.

Yes - you have got it right.
Yes - she was a journalist reporting about a police officer
Yes - she was arrested for being a journalist doing her job
Yes - she was asked sexist questions by the police which would not be asked of a male journalist
Yes - she was being harassed by the police who did not think 'hang on our mate is taking the piss here by getting us to investigate a journalist doing her job'.
Yes - this is corrupt.
Yes - it is difficult to believe.

It's one thing using a stupid law for your own ends. There IS such a thing as harassment, there is such a thing as malicious communication, and however these are being misinterpreted, they are there to misinterpret. They exist.
