Pretty shocking but it seems they think they're right.

But that doesn’t answer my question. Do you condone the practice of deliberately gaslighting children into believing they’re wrong about the sex of the person they’ve identified? Do you believe it to be appropriate for adults to lie to children? If so, why? Don’t you see the safeguarding problem with that?

I think a child should be told the sex of a person and accept it, regardless of what they "see". I think that makes my views clear enough.

If the form was not a place to express socio-political views why did the organisation decide to collect a viewpoint via their form?

Why did the staff member engage in a process designed for additional data collection?

Why did staff who held a different socio-political view reject the application on the basia of their viewpoint and the mother viewpoint not being in agreement?

The form was a place to express your preferred pronouns. Mone are she/her because I am a woman but I believe saying that I am a woman is enough.

So you're with Orwell's Winston Smith?

When you say “be told the sex of a person” do you mean their actual sex, or their claimed sex?

No! They absolutely should not when the adults involved are lying to them!

The adults are lying to the child!

If the adults weren't lying then it would be reasonable for the child to accept it. But they are lying. It is therefore unreasonable for the child to accept it.

Parental / family alienation is baked into transgender ideology & practice with children being told from a young age that if parents don't immediately affirm and use correct pronouns they're bigots and children are better off without them.

Anyone who know anything about the life outcomes for children alienated from theur families (national data shows they do appallingly in every aspect measured) knows that keeping children in their families where possible is the best outcome.

But this doesn't stop the adult gender zealots who make it their business to promote the notion to children that parents who try to establish boundaries and safeguard children are bigots and transphobes and must be rejected.

I don't believe that children raised with healthy views about the diversity among men and women would fall victim to this ideology, frankly. I do think it always stems from how their parents and early agencies of socialisation taught them about gender, sexuality and relationships.

"Told the sex" doesnt leave much room for lies. I am not advocating for lies. I'm advocating for factual truth. I am just saying that children need to accept the factual truth, irrespective of what their parents, family or church have told them about men and women.

NotBadConsidering · 31/08/2025 12:57

Consider a 12 year old girl on a school camp:

”When we got changed for swimming we were supervised by two women teachers. I know they were women teachers because they told me they were women teachers and Ihavetoask says I can’t question that, even though one of the teachers looked a lot like a man.”

Sex is pretty straightforward. Gender is arguably a bit more ambiguous.

If mum had not raised the issue and child had gone to camp...

Child sees a girl and staff tell child 'that's a boy'.

You are saying that the child should unquestioningly accept what the adults tell him rather than his own eyes.

This could actually have been the situation if the mum had not raised the issue.

The child is not the problem here.

Oh yes it does.

Do you think, then that if a male teacher is trans identifying and claiming to be a woman, children should be appropriately told the truth that he is a man?

Yes. Looking like a man doesnt mean that someone is a man. Especially if you believe people in trousers look like men because that's how your parents raised you.

“There were no men on the ward so she couldn’t have been raped”

Ihavetoask · 31/08/2025 12:59

It's on us as voters to ensure that someone who is a man isn't in those changing rooms.

So can you answer my follow up question? Should children be told the truth about the actual sex of trans identifying staff and other students?

SouthWamses · 31/08/2025 12:59

Dont make these sort of illogical leaps. It insults us all.

Maybe read the Cass Review, the work of Jonathan Haidt, have a look at sites like Transgender Trend, Bayswater to educate yourself about the impact of social media and social contagion in all this. There's now a wealth of evidence about the roots of all this.

You don't seem to be arguing from a position of knowledge to be honest.

I've answered that more than once. Children should be told the sex of other people.

When adults stop lying to children, I will start worrying about children accepting 'factual truth' from adults.

You can't demand the latter before the former.

But you haven’t confirmed you think that means their actual sex, not their claimed sex. Do you think children should be told that the teacher or student may claim a female identity, but is actually male?

That's not an illogical leap - it was what staff in an NHS hospital told a woman (and the police) who'd been raped by a trans identifying man. That there was no man on the ward. They lied and covered up a rape on a hospital ward until the police discovered the truth from CCTV.

I'm arguing from what I have seen around me. You never see a trans child come from a home where they don't associate personality traits and interests with gender.

Ah. So you work for a trans lobby group that targets children?

cigarsmokingwoman · 31/08/2025 13:05

I've heard about this charity before as I'm Scottish and they are extremely woke.

Even if they didn't agree with the mother's views, they didn't have to phone her up and question her. They could have just shrugged their shoulders and accepted the application anyway. So they initiated the argument imo

Its not clear to me if the mum is just complaining or taking actual legal action?
