I love marzipan! I make my own, each Christmas, and this year, I plan to make extra, so I can make some marzipan chocolates too.

When I was a mere fox cub developing a taste for what the old folks called Joe Orton cake, which I later discovered was called Battenberg, I became fascinated by this mysterious substance called marzipan.

Lubeck is the Mecca of marzipan, and I will always take my hat off to the city for that.

The pub is staffed entirely by animals.gerbils mostly, but the capybaras and seagulls both work the door as security when needed. Rosie the red panda provides hugs, the giant wombat is alas deceased and a ghost of the Bluestocking, but looks very alive.

I've missed loads but that's just for starters.

I'm sure Lübeck marzipan is perfectly acceptable, but the best marzipan is homemade, to my mother's recipe.

Apparently so, it happened earlier today.

Trumped up charges of which I'm completely innocent.

I'm fairly sure it's a case of wrong crocs wrong place.

Only rule is no males, the males, human and animal go to the Staunch Ally down the road. Exceptions being Colin the dog who predates just about all of us, and a teddy bear called Bear in honour of Swashbuckled son who died just over 3 months ago. 💙

Hello LibertyKnickers. Don't get lost in all this craziness about marzipan.

I bloody love marzipan.

I don't know. I suspect it's a reference to Entertaining Mr Sloane, which I haven't seen for over 30 years but really should revisit.

The gerbils have been discussing their next theatrical "thingywotsit" and have decided to wait until Mumsnet have fixed whatever is going on with the images as they would hate to be at a crucial stage 30 seconds before the big reveal of who stole the Tunnocks tea cake only to have the house lights go up whilst Grumbleena sorts out the IT.

I think the gerbils should tackle "Six" as there are lots of female roles.

In the meantime the gerbils have organised an event for newer members (although once you're in the Bluestocking, you've always been here).

Bessie seems to have shrunk. And can the capybouncer please get rid of that bloke at the back?

I find it hard when they do the Scottish play. They tend to get their costumes all mixed up and you end up with the wrong gerbil wearing the wrong tartan.

Who put the gerbils in a display case?
