Figured it was my turn for once!

Plus this way I beat the rush to the bar.

Now I must return to the previous thread to relocate my Tunnock's secret stash.

Serve yourselves until the bar gerbils arrive.

@MarieDeGournaymaybe the Real Bluestocking needs an annex for its - appropriately downscaled - microbrewery?

If she gets the angles right (through a window) they can be milling around in the distance at the outside garden party.

You're right, as is Boily, the Father Ted 'small/far away' thing could workSmile

The problem is space - the building stands on a board with just a few inches around it, so there isn't enough space for the small/faraway perspective solution.

I often wonder what is to become of the model in the future - I don't really have room for it in my house, and it would be a very outing thing to have around, I'd have to change the name and lose the gerbils!

So if it sat on a bigger base, it could have the microbrewery and the beer garden and a pond and the trees full of tree kangaroos and sloths - oh hello knittedsloth, long time no see! But for now, it is what it is, and the littler little people will populate some other, smaller building..

You stick a bit of green paper outside the window.

Take the internal shot of the green paper from inside.

You set up the garden party on another surface you don't intend to use for another month.

Photograph that from the same angle as the inside shot

Then spend six months trying to merge the two shots together.

During those months you carefully package up the whole Bluestocking and oubuildings/garden party and send them to my yacht.

Banned has the keys you can liaise with her.

You could sell it to a model village. Polperro is near me then I could visit it and be overcome with pride

Yes please, set up a crowd funder and send Naomi stat!

I look forward to the lemon drizzle cake (not words I ever thought I'd say)

Unfortunately the instructions to prepare a lemon drizzle cake with a file in it were not gerbil-proof.

Bloody hell, is image review on a go-slow again?

Edit - Ah! It appeared!

FuzzyPuffling · 29/08/2025 18:19

Worth waiting for!

Britinme · 29/08/2025 18:19

Oh dear - wrong type of file :-(

Of course it could be that the gerbils printed the file on emery paper, so you could use it, though it might take a long time to work its way through the bars.

I haven't been here as much as usual, so I missed out on the Other Thread [the TRA AMA one presumably , which I didn't read, but I had plenty of annoyance from the me-me-me JKR well-poisoning one😠] and Taztoy's arrival.
Sorry I wasn't around to do my usual Tigger-like welcome!

I'm sorry things are difficult for you, Taztoy, I hope you feel the Bluestocking is a place of calmness and safety - though I have to admit that it is simultaneously a place of accordion-playing badgers, but friendly and sympathetic accordion-playing badgers who will instantly stop playing to listen to you and give you lots of support.
[I talked my way out of that inconsistency quite deftly, didn't I?Grin]
Joining other Bluestockingers in sending hugs.
Hugs too to Cher who a few pages ago said she was not only dealing with difficult stuff, but having to deal with it in 'furrin parts', which probably means having to deal with difficult stuff without access to a proper cuppa - fortunately the Bluestocking is equally accessible from home, or from furrin partsSmile

Myrtle, I was trawling through some old Thread Galleries looking for photographic evidence of a beetle caught in the act of croc-wrangling, and I found this lovely romantic image of you and Mr Walrus.
This is what you'll be able to do you when you recover fully from the surgery, so keep getting better!

I hope the fact that the image was posted before means it already has a MNHQ Good Housekeeping Seal [or walrus] of Approval and will appear soon..

Aha! The final scene from Das fliegender Walross. Such a shame that opera of Wagner's has been lost!

You are looking particularly buff! Maybe you could just try ripping the bars from the window?

Nah, I'm top dog, Big Bertha sorted out Doris in the laundry for me earlier as Doris hadn't paid back her loan.

I hate to interrupt The Beetleshank Redemption, but perusing today's emails I see there's now a Colin the Caterpillar semifreddo cake, while for those with more sophisticated palates Chocolates Direct now stock Carstens Lubeck Marzipan in a variety of offerings.

This has been a public service announcement. Thank you.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/08/2025 18:50

Wait - what? Boily’s been banged up?

I’ve made a banner.

And now I want a lemon drizzle cake, and a lime one and a grapefruit one. Please and thank you.

O now, Lubeck marzipan certainly piques my interest.

It's a nice city and well worth a visit for the history and sights, but it does know that it stands or falls on its marzipan.
