some parallels

I've been teasing out this idea, that transphobia and xenophobia have much in common.

  • both rest on 'you're not from here; your culture is different; you can't know what it is to have grown up 'over here'/had period pains/gone through labour.
  • both reject difference or change in favour of sameness or stasis. 'You look and talk and think differently/you underwent a journey to get here/I can't fully relate to you'.
  • both rest not just on culture but on biology: 'Your genes are different than mine/your genotype for phenotype A, B or C aren't identical to mine'.
  • both are territorial: 'i sweated blood as a member of this sex/to make it in this society - who are you to come here and demand a seat at the table'?
  • both are suspicious of the reasons for transformation. 'You just want the perks of being female; you just want to look up our skirts in the toilet; you just migrated here from Guatemala for financial stability.'
  • both demonize, aggressively overstating the chance that the person has or will commit a crime. (Migrants: no need to give examples, just read the news. Trans people: 'you just want access to 'our spaces'' (i.e. the spaces where women/cis women enjoy their privacy from all men, cis or trans) so you can assault us'.
  • both minimize or even deny, the need for the transition: 'No child is born trans/those parents were homophobic as the kid was just gay/trans women are men with their dicks lopped off/people should stay in their home country and migration is too dangerous'.
  • both hysterically fear that the trans person/migrant will corrupt innocents: 'they will indoctrinate children in school/they will spread religious fundamentalism'.

Gender critical women: ask yourself if you've been radicalized into the new right.

What the fuck are you on about?

Mammals can't change sex. The end.

neither can most of them drive a car or operate the remote!

Actually I do think there are certain some parallels.

Think of womanhood as a country (cuntry) distinct from manhood, if you will.

Most inhabitants are natives (AFAB)

Some are asylum seekers (transitioned due to CSA, sexism, homophobia, etc)

Some are naturalised immigrants (transsexuals, tfms who pass).

Some are tourists (confused teens, cross-dressers, AGP, porn-soaked narcissists etc)

Some are illegal immigrants with connections to criminal gangs (the Isla Brysons of the world - not as rare as we wouid like). Some are legal immigrants who bring with misogynistic / backward attitudes, and refuse to integrate

The problem is, the huge surge in transitioning / growth of genderism as an ideology means that the tiny trans community - with whom almost nobody has a problem, (certainly not kindly middle aged women, who didn’t GAF) is now over overrun by hypertourism and illegal migrants.

And this is the problem we face. And like the actual immigration issue, it’s divisive and many take different views. Though immigrants are don’t have a whole flag festooned industry, that includes publishing, story hours, school syllabus materials, coloured lanyards and pronouns.

...how sorting toilets by sex, and making them gender neutral, is a win/win and makes everyone happy. (although your words were rather..big...)

Well. I’m not as good at interpretive dance as @Boiledbeetle so ill have to use words

transpeople claim to have changed gender.
we all accept they haven’t changed sex
they wish to be validated as their chosen gender by accessing facilities designated for the opposite sex as they conflate sex and gender
we all know sex and gender are different
therefore if we say all facilities are mixed gender or gender neutral but still separated by sex, they can use the facilities of their birth sex but still have their gender validated.

women get the single sex spaces they are entitled to by law
everyone wins

Isn't it more sad that transwomen want to be in them so desperately?

i think it's more likely they'd rather not walk into a room full of peeing drunk macho men, in the wardrobe of their choice. not that hard to understand when you think about that. but of course, you think that a trans man SHOULD walk into your toilet....hmmm, why?

By not having to use gendered toilets. Obviously. If everyone is using mixed gender toilets, then they should be happy right? Everyone is using gender neutral facilities. So they present in whichever gender they wish and no one will bat an eye.

Transmen can walk into my toilet because they are women, I'm fine with that, If transwoman have a problem with drunk, peeing macho men, this is not women's problem to fix. Sort if yourself, leave us out of it.

crikey

no one cares about gender. change gender as much as you like

it makes jack shit difference to your sex which remains immutable and sometimes important. It ain't hard

The "trans women" who demand to use female spaces are amongst the worst of all men, in that they don't respect women's boundaries and refuse to take no for an answer. Rapist mentality.

Merrymouse · 16/08/2025 21:35

I think that anyone who believes the differences between men and women are comparable to differences in nationalities is either stupid or racist.

Not sure where you've been hanging out but in my (pretty trans friendly) world I'm seeing a few people per week who appear they could be trans (many more where you can't tell). hardly a seething mass of tourists and illegal immigrants to cisworld. because it turns out that MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT TRANS! they are a MINORITY!

thuscisntvabout sex though; it's about gender.

Right, but the spaces women are trying to protect are single sex, not gender. You can be as gendery as you like, crack on. But don’t invade the spaces reserved for the other sex- bathrooms, prisons, sports, competitions …

Returning to your xenophobia analogy, I would suggest it’s more aligned with the colonisation of the US. A bunch of white blokes see a space and move in on it. The indigenous people get ever smaller spaces reserved for them. Then some of the colonists start eyeing up the reservations, how calm it seems, how the people there seem to have qualities and traditions that colonists lack. So they move in, stick some feathers in their hair and claim they too are indigenous.

Manfreglory · 16/08/2025 20:53

It's so hard to make a direct parallel because there seems so much less 'race dysphoria' than gender. So, was she trying to fit in? Was she more emotionally connected to the Black community than white? Inthinkntyerexare sone parallels and don't agree with the many who slammed her. Thanks for asking a scraping all this seriously.

Are you pissed?
