Wasn't sure whether to put this in S&B or here

You know how adamant a lot of S&B regulars are that wedding guests mustn't wear white, mustn't wear anything that looks like a wedding dress, mustn't do anything to overshadow the bride? Well, this bride's brother and mother didn't get the memo. The mother bought the dress, apparently. Awkward Christmas in prospect in this family, I'd imagine.

It does rather put all the concern over whether pale lemon “photographs white” into perspective, doesn’t it?

CowPooSummer · 11/08/2025 20:20

He looks like one of those photoshopped creepy ghosts!

HagsRule · 11/08/2025 20:31

I'd have called my brother up and told him that he was a narcissistic, attention seeking arsehole to wear a wedding dress on the day of my wedding and to say that he crossed a line and never speak to him again. If I were the bride I'd also go no or low contact with my enabling mother. Smacks of golden child syndrome that she didn't even think to tell him it was inappropriate and actively shopped with him to get it!!!! Wtf?!

Theswiveleyeballsinthesky · 11/08/2025 20:32

Christ! That poor girl - on her own fucking wedding day. I'd be tempted to cut the pair of them off

HagsRule · 11/08/2025 20:32

Also I'm not on X/Twitter - I'm hoping the comments are saying similar things to me???

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/08/2025 20:36

Oh yes.

I would ask anyone who turned up in an "upstage the bride" outfit to GTFO of my wedding celebrations, be they man woman or horse. But I think this is particularly nasty because I bet in the background, emotionally manipulative conversations were had about how it would be his "only chance to ever wear a wedding dress". Pure delusion.
Some people really do think the world is just a playground to enact their every fantasy and that everyone else exists purely to be supporting cast.

JanesLittleGirl · 11/08/2025 20:57

DM and DB would definitely off my Christmas card list if I was the bride. Horrendous behaviour.

Yes! 🤣👏

I was trying to work out if somehow the bride had agreed to this and it was kind of a loving joke between her and her brother. Because you couldn’t just do this without consulting the bride and be considered sane.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/08/2025 22:35

I don't really understand TikTok but it looks as if the bride was not in on this at all and is very, very pissed off.

Bloody hell, he even has a flipping CROWN!

I reckon either he totally bullied/intimidated his mum into it - or she actually hates her daughter and sees her as the black sheep, "too fat", not "feminine" enough etc. and sonny dearest gets the kudos for being the boy, being skinny and liking frills, sparkles and crowns.

That said, the groom a) looks like he has the measure of the brother, and b) I love how happy he looks in the second pic, he looks dead chuffed to be marrying her despite the White Queen looming over them, so I hope they'll be very happy together!

The navy blue handbag really doesn't work with that dress.

Of all the comments on here, I reckon that would be the most devastating to Himself in the Frock😂

No I agree it’s a very odd choice with the dress. Made me wonder what the shoes are like.

Agreed

I did wonder if he was holding it for his mum. If he bought it to go with the frock that’s a puzzling move, although I do accept that accessories are generally the most challenging part of a wedding outfit

that dress is nuclear level attention seeking. Even by the standards of other TIM’s I’ve seen on social media it’s something pretty special

This has absolutely made me rage for that poor woman. It’s genuinely cruel to do this to her on her wedding day, FFS.

I managed to watch a couple of her vids on TikTok (tho I don’t really understand it either Grin ) and she most definitely was not in on it, and was very upset by it.

She knew he was going to be wearing a dress, and that their mum had bought it, but not that it was a fucking wedding dress! He actually said he was going to be “the belle of the ball”, can you believe.

It’s not a fucking ball, it’s your sisters wedding, you narcissistic wanker! And you look like a creepy ghost anyway!

I sincerely hope they photoshop him, and the toxic mother, out of the photos. Imagine having to see that ghoul every time you look at your wedding photos 😱

The mother and son here are awful people! And also he looks bloody awful! I thought he was a ghost mannequin at first 😱

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 12/08/2025 09:47

That TikTok video is so sad. I feel so sorry for her. What a grotesquely selfish thing to do.

theilltemperedmaggotintheheartofthelaw · 12/08/2025 10:24

According to Reddit, the brother has called out the bride for her bad behaviour and blocked her on SM:

Cos-playing as Miss Havisham on your sister's wedding day is certainly a bold decision.

MYBO · 12/08/2025 10:45

If I had been her friend attending the wedding, I’d have headed off to buy the cheapest bottle of red wine I could find…. 🍷

FranticFrankie · 12/08/2025 11:04

I'd never forgive the mum - what an enabler
Awful behaviour on a woman's wedding day ffs
Disgusting
