Wasn't sure whether to put this in S&B or here

You know how adamant a lot of S&B regulars are that wedding guests mustn't wear white, mustn't wear anything that looks like a wedding dress, mustn't do anything to overshadow the bride? Well, this bride's brother and mother didn't get the memo. The mother bought the dress, apparently. Awkward Christmas in prospect in this family, I'd imagine.

If it's a real photo then obviously it's outrageous - the level of narcissism is off the scale. How sure can we be though that it's a real photo?

No I agree it’s a very odd choice with the dress. Made me wonder what the shoes are like.

Oooh! I reckon they’ll either be giant Perspex pole dance shoes or dirty old vans plimsolls with trans flag coloured laces!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/08/2025 12:29

I think he’s got fairly high heels on, his bearing looks like he has.

I don't really understand TikTok but it looks as if the bride was not in on this at all and is very, very pissed off.

If that's the case then I stand by my first comment and she needs to cut him out of her life and go low to no contact with her mother who enabled it. Total narcissistic arseholes. I'd have been livid and absolutely devastated if that had happened to me. I also think she should go and redo her photos with her husband and not include them. Or use Photoshop if cheaper. What a disgrace.

Beowulfa · 12/08/2025 12:54

But I thought we could never tell?

Haulage · 12/08/2025 12:55

That bag makes me think he’ll have gone for an open toed sandal with tights look.

Only a bloke could have that level of entitlement. What a wanker.

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/08/2025 17:46

I’ve seen the poor bride on TT & she is devastated about all this.

troons gonna Troon though.

Boiledbeetle · 12/08/2025 18:23

The poor bride needs to get someone to edit her photos.

Christ! That poor girl - on her own fucking wedding day. I'd be tempted to cut the pair of them off

Yes, I think it would be no loss to her. This is unlikely to be an isolated incident. He and her mother deserve each other.

HagsRule · 11/08/2025 20:31

I'd have called my brother up and told him that he was a narcissistic, attention seeking arsehole to wear a wedding dress on the day of my wedding and to say that he crossed a line and never speak to him again. If I were the bride I'd also go no or low contact with my enabling mother. Smacks of golden child syndrome that she didn't even think to tell him it was inappropriate and actively shopped with him to get it!!!! Wtf?!

That would be literal violence.

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2025 19:07

I have said before that there was definitely more than a small element of jealousy going on from my brother. I am not remotely surprised at the likely unhealthy sibling relationship here. From what I've seen it's not unusual.

This is a particularly nasty one. It's an attempt to say I'm more attractive, I'm going to upstage you and I'm going to punish you.

It's about power, control and yep it's emotionally abusive.

And surprise, Mum doesn't stick up for the daughter.

Well there's one thing, there won't be many at that wedding that don't realise what a selfish, attention seeking prick he is....

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2025 19:08

It's always about the behaviour not the identity.

myplace · 12/08/2025 19:20

Well, the good ladies of S&B are right.

And I love the questioning the fashion choices as well as the ethical choices the chap made.

Fancy going through the rest of your life known as the bloke who wore a wedding dress and tiara tried to upstage his own sister on her wedding day.

I mean, surely that community isn’t going to let him get away with that. Please? I want it in the local paper. Discussed down the pub. Splashed over the local Spotted page and all the community FB pages. On local radio. Everywhere.

I want that to follow him around for the rest of his life. He could be nicknamed CorpseBride.

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2025 19:24

The looks on both their faces.

It almost begs for a caption competition.

“This is not quite what I meant when I said I wanted a mail order bride”

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2025 19:31

Apparently Bride is particularly upset by that photo because it looks like her husband has married her brother.

Apparently the brother has thrown a hissy fit at her because some of the guests wouldn't speak to him (doesn't say if she also refused to speak to him)

What I can't understand is why on earth her and her husband agreed to pose for photos with him.

soupyspoon · 12/08/2025 19:33

I cant hear the sound properly on the tiktok video, what is she saying?

I would imagine that when you get in a situation where all eyes are on you, you're trying to make the best of your day, you might also know that the brother is going to kick off and make a massive scene, so you go along with it, sort of sleepwalking intot or with gritted teeth.

So the photographer says 'right lets have the lads together' and there you have it.

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2025 19:41

See if have just told him to fuck off and had the scene.

I'm not the one who was going to look bad for doing it.

Not in your eyes or mine, however the narrative is so toxic that anyone asking for him to leave or not be in the photos or raising the issue that he is attention seeking and upstaging her, will perhaps believe that other people believe that he is the poor vulnerable victim of a bigot.

Im not sure that most people would think that. But I think that most people would think that other people would think that

If that makes any sense at all.

It does, but I think I find it hard to comprehend not just saying fuck off, despite the guilt.

Mainly because I've got that particular t-shirt over behaviour and just wouldn't stand for my brother being a prick.
